Trump Made Some Confusing Statements During His Visit With the Prime Minister of Israel

On Wednesday afternoon, President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met at the White House to discuss several issues for the first time since Trump took office. The two parties were very friendly toward each other, taking the time to snap a few pics and post them on Twitter.

When it came time to discuss the one-state or two-state solutions for Israel and Palestine, Trump seemed neutral on the issue according to USA Today, stating, “I’m looking at two-state and one-state and I like the one that both parties like. I can live with either one.” For those who don’t know, the two-state solution calls for a Palestinian nation running alongside Israel. The U.S. has endorsed a two-state solution for 50 years, making Trump's statement seem pretty flippant.

Though Trump said he’d be agreeable to either solution, a Palestinian official warned that if the two-state solution isn’t pursued, peace in the Middle East will not be possible. “If the Trump Administration rejects this policy it would be destroying the chances for peace and undermining American interests, standing and credibility abroad,” Hanan Ashrawi, the spokeswoman for the Palestinian delegation to the 1991 Madrid peace conference, told CBS News.

According to USA Today, Trump also said he’d like to see Netanyahu hold back on settlements along the West Bank, and mentioned that he's looking into moving the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Trump and Netanyahu gave a press conference, during which an Israeli reporter asked a question about anti-Semitism. "Since your election campaign, and even after your victory, we've seen a sharp rise in anti-Semitic incidents across the United States," the reporter said, according to Cosmopolitan. "And I wonder what do you say to those among the Jewish community in the States and in Israel, and maybe around the world, who believe and feel that your administration is playing with xenophobia and maybe racist tones?"

Trump bizarrely answered by saying, "I just want to say that we are very honored by the victory that we had," and talking about how many electoral votes he got. He then reminded everyone that his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner are Jewish, which also doesn't answer the question.

According to USA Today, Trump stated “he believes he can broker the ultimate deal” in regards to a Middle Eastern peace agreement. We can all have our doubts about Trump’s lack of experience, but at the end of the day, let’s hope an agreement can be met.

Melania Trump Might Be 'Miserable' as First Lady

With the “free Melania” memes floating around, the super awk video of her and Trump slow dancing on Inauguration Day and the viral pictures of Melania looking noticeably uncomfortable in moments she should be glowing with pride for her husband, it's hard not to wonder if Melania is...you know, okay.

Now, US Weekly is reporting that the first lady is decidedly not okay. A "family source" told the magazine, “Melania is unhappy with how her life ended up. She is miserable.”

Melania's a model who married a businessman. She probably didn't think her husband becoming president was ever going to be in the cards—and that she'd have to do things like make speeches that would be endlessly scrutinized, or stay in her apartment instead of taking Barron to school, as Cosmopolitan reports.

But not everyone's saying Melania's in a bad place—another anonymous source told US Weekly, “she is very happy with her life and supporting her husband and family.”

Either way, I say we give Melania a break. Her personal life is being broadcast to the media and plastered all over magazines and social media feeds. It just can’t be easy for her—her every microexpression is now thrown into a whirlwind of criticism by those who are constantly making assumptions about her. Let’s give her some breathing room, and hope that she adjusts to her new role.

OKCupid Will Now Be Using Your Thoughts on Trump To Make Matches

According to The Verge, OKCupid just added the one question to its questionnaire that could make or break the romantic connections you’ve been seeking—“Trump?”

This March, the online dating service will be launching a revamped mobile app with a brand new category of questions, covering relevant topical issues to 2017. OKCupid is known for its probing yet fun questions that mysteriously factor into an algorithm that creates match percentages between users. More evergreen categories were getting the job done in the pre-Trump days. But in the midst of a heavy political climate, 50 questions will be added to a new "2017" category, “covering everything from ghosting to Trump, from climate change to student debt — the things you want to know a person’s stance on before you meet them,” according to OKCupid.

According to The Verge, some of the other potential dealbreaker questions being added include “Is climate change real? and “Do you feel that there should be a ban on immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries entering the U.S.?”

OKCupid’s goal is that these questions will create deeper, more meaningful connections. After all, answers to these questions are definitely what you'd want to know about a potential partner before getting super serious, and similar answers could even be a source of bonding.

‘Tis the season for Valentine’s Day vibes meeting political drama. I can dig it.

Today in Kylie Jenner Drama, People Are Accusing Her of Copying Another Brand's Designs

People are not having it with Kylie's new merch in The Kylie Jenner Shop

She sells items like a "Thick!" sports set, bomber jackets with her signature lip logo and even a Hidden Hills duffle bag. But her second pop-up shop opened in NYC this week and people quickly realized of her newest items – her flame sweats – are copied from the indie store Cake Asia. See for yourself:

Black Flames Crew Neck Set #Vday

A post shared by Official Kylie Jenner Shop (@thekylieshop) on

Pretty similar, huh?

The youngest Kardashian-Jenner even got the same model, rapper Offset, to pose in both outfits. AND she seems to have blocked Instagram users from being able to comment @cake_asia on her account. When you try to tag the store, you get a "Comment Blocked" notification. Seems awfully fishy, Kylie.

People on Twitter were pretty salty about Kylie ripping off a smaller brand.

A few others sort of came to Kylie's defense...

Kylie Jenner new line, Thrasher and Cake Asia all look the same plus they sell this fire lookin design stuff at Forever 21

— KidJumper (@felicia_kid) February 11, 2017

Regardless, people don't seem to care enough about Kylie the copycat to ~not~ buy her merch. In fact, her flame sweats are already sold out. I can't wait to see what clothes Kylie releases in the future, but let's just hope they're actually original.

This limited edition collection will include four eyeliners, four lipsticks, and two highlighter-shadows, all in beautiful, shimmering colors inspired by sea creatures.

In an exclusive statement to POPSUGAR, Katy said that she was inspired by spring's upcoming mermaid vibes and pearlescent hues. "There are new fun and cheerful colors ranging from peachy Apricat to a Bluetiful lip, shimmery highlighters in rose and gold, and a pop of Whispurr white or Purmaid green to line your eyes," Katy said. "You'll make Ariel jealous, and look better than a shimmering Easter basket when you're done." Carly Pearce Is Country Music’s Next Big Thing

$

Carly Pearce might be a name you're hearing for the first time, but if you’re a fan of country music (or musicians who are immensely talented), then you’ll want to keep her on your radar. At the age of 26, Carly is on the path to becoming a breakout country star, and she shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

From a young age, Carly had her sights set on becoming a musician. In fact, she can’t recall ever considering any other possible career for herself.

“I’ve been told I started to sing before I was even talking,” Carly says. “My mom said the only thing that would stop me from crying as a baby was country music. I think it was my destiny!”

Given her early passion for music, it’s no surprise that Carly dedicated her early years to shaping her musical abilities. By the age of 11, she started touring with a local bluegrass group. Getting early experience with a live audience was critical in helping Carly grow as a musician. The shows not only helped to build her stage presence but enabled her to feed off of the energy of audience members.

“I love the energy of a live crowd. There’s nothing greater than looking out and seeing the audience take the emotional roller coaster ride along with you with every song,” she says.

At 16, Carly decided that music would be her top priority. She convinced her parents to let her continue her education through homeschooling and moved from her Kentucky hometown to Pigeon Forge, Tenn. to perform several times a week at Dollywood—a theme park partially owned by singer Dolly Parton.

“I genuinely have never known a moment of my life that my dream wasn’t to be a face of country music,” she says. “It’s always been the only thing I’ve known.”

A few years later, Carly moved to Nashville—which is widely known as the country music capital of the world (and for good reason). For decades, Nashville has been home to the genre’s biggest stars, and Carly hopes that she can contribute to the legacy. She’s already toured with country artists Kelsea Ballerini and Florida Georgia Line, and her music has attracted the attention of other stars, like Cam and Lucy Hale.

Carly’s hit song “Every Little Thing" was especially instrumental in helping to further her career. “I wrote ‘Every Little Thing’ as therapy, for a pretty horrible breakup I went through,” Carly explains. “I wanted to create a scene of actual snapshots from my story of living with his memory and realizing that our hearts ultimately decide when we're ready to let someone go.”

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade—right?

Aside from personal experiences, Carly draws inspiration from female powerhouse vocalists. “I love voices that have a lot of texture, tone and character in their voices,” she says. “Women like Trisha Yearwood, Alison Krauss, Faith Hill to name a few. I definitely think that sound of the early 2000s is what I want to bring back. Truly ‘modern country’ music.”

Although Carly has performed at countless venues throughout her career, there’s one stage that never gets old—Nashville’s iconic Grand Ole Opry. “I just played for the 32nd time, and I swear to you I still get butterflies,” Carly reveals. “I don’t think there will ever come a day where that doesn’t happen, and I don’t think it’s supposed to leave. That stage is the ultimate staple that defines country music.”

When it comes to her plans for the future, Carly is determined to put in the effort necessary to reach an even larger audience through her music.

“I have so many goals. This year, I want to work super hard to make a splash on the scene with 'Every Little Thing' and also to make a killer debut record that people really love,” Carly says. “Long term, I'd love to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, be a part of a major tour, win an ACM or CMA for new artist or female vocalist. A girl’s gotta dream big, right?!”

Here's What the Gates Foundation Has Been Doing with Warren Buffett's $31 Billion Donation

$

In 2006, Warren Buffett donated $31 billion of his fortune to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which focuses on solving global issues and eradicating poverty worldwide. Ten years later, Bill and Melinda Gates wrote a letter to their friend to let him know just how they were using his money, “the biggest single gift anyone ever gave anybody for anything.”

The letter, available to read on Gates Notes (aka Bill Gates’ blog), covers not only the Gates Foundation’s triumphs, but also the work they have yet to do. As the Gateses put it, “Philanthropy isn’t like business. We don’t have sales and profits to show you. There’s no share price to report. But there are numbers we watch closely to guide our work and measure our progress.” The numbers they share come mostly from their global health work and tell the story of how the foundation has put Buffett’s generous donation to work.

They begin with the positives: 122 million children’s lives saved since 1990. Basically, fewer children are dying before age 5 than ever before. As Melinda puts it, “Saving children’s lives is the goal that launched our global work.” And ensuring that children live longer has positive effects across society. She goes on to write that “Virtually all advances in society—nutrition, education, access to contraceptives, gender equity, economic growth—show up as gains in the childhood mortality chart, and every gain in this chart shows up in gains for society.”

Their attack on childhood mortality begins with vaccines. Thanks to the efforts of the Gates Foundation and its partner organizations, 86 percent of children worldwide receive basic vaccines, the highest percentage in history. It’s an effort that requires coordination between non-governmental organizations and both wealthy and poor countries, which has led the Gateses to create Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, which “connects companies who develop vaccines with wealthy governments that help with funding and developing countries that get the vaccines to their people.”

But despite their huge accomplishments, Bill and Melinda Gates aren’t ready to rest yet. As they tell Buffett (and all the other people reading the letter), there are still plenty of problems that require solving. One million babies die the day they are born. Of childhood deaths, 45 percent are linked to malnutrition. And while the Gates Foundation has helped raise the number of women in developing countries using modern contraception to 300 million, there are still nearly that many women who get pregnant without wanting to.

It’s a constant quest for answers. The Gates Foundation has been closely studying Rwanda, which has managed to cut its newborn mortality rate by 30 percent through simple changes, like hygiene, breastfeeding and having trained birth attendants present. They’re working on increasing the amount of foreign aid that goes towards solving malnutrition—and at only 1 percent, there’s nowhere to go but up. As for the contraceptives, Melinda writes that “Public advocates are important, which is why I’ve taken on that role. But nothing can take the place of a trusted voice in the community.” By improving contraceptive technology, sharing stories of those whose lives were or could have been improved by contraceptives, and supporting women’s self-help groups in India, the foundation hopes to help give another 120 million women access to birth control by 2020.

What the Gateses stress most is the need for optimism. A recent survey showed that only one percent of people knew that extreme poverty had been cut in half since 1990. They want to change that notion. As they wrote to their friend, “We’re trying to channel your empathy, add your optimism, mix in technology, apply strategy, and work with partners to save more lives. That’s how we’re spending your gift.”

Trump Attacked Anyone Who Doesn't Agree With Him in a Bizarre Press Conference Today

President Donald Trump turned a press conference announcing his new pick for Secretary of Labor into an hour plus rant against the media and its portrayal of his administration on Thursday. As The New York Times reports, only a small portion of the 76-minute press conference was dedicated to R. Alexander Acosta, a Florida law school dean and former assistant attorney general for civil rights, with Trump saying, “I think he’s going to be a tremendous secretary of labor.” If confirmed, Acosta will be the first Hispanic member of Trump’s cabinet. His nomination comes only a day after Andrew F. Puzder withdrew his name from consideration and the same week that the president asked for the resignation of Michael T. Flynn, his national security advisor. Acosta was not present for the announcement.

With formalities over, Trump quickly moved onto a rambling defense of his administration, saying, “To be honest, I inherited a mess, a mess, at home and abroad, a mess.” However, he promised that “We’re going to take care of it all,” and applauded himself for being incredibly active in the first month of his presidency. According to the Times, he then went on to discuss some of his initiatives, criticize Democrats and the judges who blocked his not-a-Muslim-ban, crow about companies adding jobs, and pat himself on the back for his election. On occasion, Trump could be seen using prepared remarks, but at other times, he seemed to improvise. His administration, he promised, “is running like a fine-tuned machine.”

His main target was, as usual, the media. “I'm making this presentation directly to the American people with the media present,” he said, “which is an honor to have you, this morning, because many of our nation's reporters and folks will not tell you the truth. And will not treat the wonderful people of our country with the respect that they deserve.” He went on to complain that the "press has become so dishonest that if we don't talk about it we are doing a tremendous disservice to the American people. Tremendous disservice. We have to talk about it. We have to find out what's going on because the press honestly is out of control.”

It has been a tumultuous few days for Trump, who has once again found himself up against allegations of ties to Russia. Similar accusations toppled his former national security advisor, Michael Flynn, though Trump made it apparent that he was less concerned about Flynn’s relationship with Russia than with the fact that he had done a poor job of keeping the administration in the loop about his conversations. Of course, the president was most offended by the media’s portrayal of the incident, calling it “fake news”: “You can talk all you want about Russia, which is all fake news,” he said. “In fact I saw a couple of the people that were supposedly involved in all of this. They didn’t know anything about it. They never were in Russia. Never received a call from Russia. It’s all fake news. All fake news.”

When a reporter asked, "And on the leaks, is it fake news or are these real leaks?" Trump responded with this: "Well, the leaks are real. You’re the one that wrote about them and reported them; I mean, the leaks are real. You know what they said, you saw it, and the leaks are absolutely real. The news is fake because so much of the news is fake."

If he says it that many times, it must be true.

Though once a fan of leaks, Trump has become decidedly less enchanted by them as they impact his presidency and has called for an investigation to be opened by the Justice Department. He also wants everyone to know that his approval ratings are amazing and “We’re just getting started.” Um, yikes?

Selena Gomez's New Single Sends a Pretty Clear Message to Justin Bieber

New celeb couple Selena Gomez and The Weeknd stirred up some years-old drama this week when both musicians released new songs that allegedly target Justin Bieber.

Yesterday, The Weeknd might have addressed the Biebs in his new single, with lyrics like, "I just took that chick, and I know you feelin' some way." Now Selena is also reportedly taking to her music to air her final grievances concerning her ex.

In her just-released song with Kygo, "It Ain't Me," which she co-wrote, the singer is pretty explicit about which past lover she's crooning about, since the song includes lyrics referencing someone she met when she was 17. (Ahem, Justin.) And there's the fact that, "Somewhere along the lines / We stopped seeing eye to eye." I'd say that would be around 2015, when the first Jelena breakup happened.

The song echoes one of Selena's last public comments about Justin, when she admitted in a Feb. 2016 interview that she was "so done" with him. In case he still doesn't get it, "It Ain't Me" should do the trick.

Regardless of whether these songs have anything to do with Bieber, it looks like the Jelena ship has officially sailed, folks.

Bachelor Nick Viall Reveals Just How Far He Went with Corinne in His Hotel Room

Fans of The Bachelor have been left with some unanswered questions after this week's episode. Though Nick Viall claims that "literally, nothing happened" between him and contestant Corinne Olympios when she dropped by his hotel room, the evidence captured on camera seems to suggest otherwise.

On the Channel 33 podcast earlier this week, Nick assured listeners, "We went further on the bouncy castle!" He was willing to admit that he and Corinne "kissed a bit" behind that closed bedroom door but claims that's as risqué as it got.

Corinne went to Viall's suite after failing to earn a rose on the group date. Despite what Nick says, by the time we were done watching (or listening to) Corinne trying to convince Nick to let her show off her "sex abilities," it seemed like the two had done more than just kiss a bit.

We'll never know for sure what went down because can we really trust Nick? But there's always hope that Corinne will weigh in with her side of the story.

6 Common Misconceptions About Internships

$
0
0

Whether you’ve had five internships or none, there’s one thing we want to set straight: There are some common misconceptions about them. Some claim internships are all making coffee runs and copies while others brag about the glamorous behind-the-scenes work they get to be a part of — does it really go one way or the other? We've talked to Rachael Bozsik, CEO and Founder of The Brand Girls, and former interns to figure this out. Before you start judging internships by their covers, let’s break down some of the common rumors there are about them.

1. Interns don’t do anything worthwhile

We’ve all seen the movies where the intern is running around taking coffee orders and making copies. But the world of interns has changed a lot. Although you may be asked to do the occasional task nobody else wants to do, that won’t be the majority of your role (unless it’s specified when you apply)! Internships are all about what you make of them. If you seek out opportunities to help and share your ideas, you’ll be trusted with bigger tasks and appreciated by your coworkers.

2. Paid internships are better

We know — unpaid internships are tough. You’re working as hard as you can and they aren’t compensating for anything — but does that mean you shouldn’t accept an unpaid internship? Rachel Popa, a junior at Roosevelt University believes collegiettes should have open minds. “I found that working as an unpaid intern was a lot more rewarding and I felt and knew for a fact that my work was appreciated,” she says. “When I was paid, it felt like those who ran the internship saw me more as an employee than an intern who had room to grow.” In addition to this, just because an internship is unpaid doesn’t mean it won’t be a great experience. If it’s a company you love and a role you’re interested in, give it a shot! Your resume will thank you. If you aren’t in the financial position to take an unpaid internship, you can find strictly paid internships by filtering your search.

Related: 5 Ways to Turn a Negative Internship Around

3. Internships will always turn into jobs

Although an internship can turn into a job, you by no means are guaranteed a permanent position. Even if you get an internship somewhere you wouldn’t necessarily want to work, like Madeline F., a senior at Oregon State University, you can have an awesome experience. “I interned at an apparel showroom and though it wasn't necessarily what I want to do after college now, it was a fun and low-key workplace,” she says. You don’t have to intern in your respective field of study — internships are all about figuring out what you do and don’t like! “Whether it's to work towards a dream job or to learn about the industry in general I think interning can be a great experience, regardless of the bumps along the way,” Madeline adds. If something unique comes up, it may be worth it to take the opportunity.

4. Your boss won’t notice you

We can’t stress this enough — internships are what you make of them. If you sit at your desk all day and don’t seek out opportunities, you may go under the radar. But if you’re actively sharing your ideas and asking what you can do to help, your experience will be much better. Interns can’t just sit in the corner and play on their phones all day. If you want real experience, you have to work for it. Sit in on meetings, talk to people in your workplace and ask questions — you’ll be thankful you did.

5. Your role is set in stone

Internships are often very different, and it’s up to you to decide what you want out of it. If you want to work more hours or take on a project, let your boss know! “I ended up working less hours than I thought as well, so I would really recommend students be clear about their expectations to get the best possible experience,” Madeline says. During the interview, it’s totally okay to ask, “What types of tasks will I be taking on?” or “How many hours will I be working per week?” You want to get as much information as you can before accepting a role! And if the internship isn’t turning out to be how you thought it would, it’s important to talk to your supervisor and let them know what you think you’re missing.

6. Your internship needs to be with a nationally recognized company

We all have companies we dream of working at, but don't be crushed if you don't land an internship there! "Google, NBA, E!, Prada — if you have not been lucky enough to land an internship at a major national organization there is NO need to fret," Rachael says. "When it comes time to apply for a full time position companies are looking for two important things... transferable skills and personality. You can absolutely build out a list of both hard and soft skills anywhere from a Fortune 500 to mom and pop business. If you are in the PR industry you can build transferable skills with media pitching, press releases and media advisories in any sort of space." Take this advice to heart, and don't be upset if you end up interning at a smaller company!

Internships can be fun, hectic or boring — but you’ll never know until you try. Just keep in mind that what you hear from someone about her internship isn’t necessarily true for everyone. Seek out internships you’re interested in and once you’ve landed one, make the most of your time there. And most importantly, don’t let these misconceptions steer you away from what could be an amazing opportunity.

7 Tips for a Healthier Spring Break

$

It’s finally spring break and you’ve been hitting the campus gym especially hard the past few weeks. Don’t let all that hard work go to waste and ditch your healthy lifestyle just because you’re on vacation! It can be hard to maintain healthy habits when you’re away having fun, so we have some tips to help you stay healthy on spring break.

1. Pack a water bottle

It’s so important to stay hydrated, especially if you’re drinking alcohol. When you’re day drinking on the beach, it’s easy to forget to drink water as well. Susan Holmberg, a certified nutrition specialist, recommends drinking about half of your body weight in ounces per day (one cup is eight ounces). “If there is a lot of alcohol consumption, you will be more dehydrated than usual due to alcohol's effect on the hormones that regulate water balance in your body,” she says.

If you’re drinking alcoholic drinks, a good way to make sure you stay hydrated is to drink a glass or bottle of water in between each alcoholic drink.

Keep a water bottle with you when you’re out and make sure to drink from it throughout the day. Vapur bottles come in fun colors and are perfect for travel because they deflate for easy storage. Throw one in your beach bag or purse. If you’re traveling somewhere where the tap water is not safe to drink, make sure to stock up on water bottles from nearby convenience stores to keep in your room.

2. Drink in moderation

Make sure you’re being smart while drinking. You want to have fun, but don’t overdo it. Drinking definitely stops being fun when you can barely walk or say your name.

Kathleen Baty, author of College Safety 101: Miss Independent’s Guide to Empowerment, Confidence, and Staying Safe, says, “Beware of those cute, little foo-foo drinks that taste like strawberry or coconut. Just because you can’t taste the alcohol doesn’t mean that there is not rum or vodka in it. These drinks are strong and dangerous. Know your limit, and only have one or two over a few hours.”

If you have trouble keeping track of the drinks you’ve had in your head, write it down on your phone or make tick marks with a pen on your wrist. Stay with your friends so you can keep one another in check.

3. Hit the hotel gym or work out on the beach

If you are staying in a hotel, chances are it has a gym. You’re paying money to stay there, so take advantage of the free gym access! “If you and your friends decide to take a break between the beach and a party, head to the gym and run for half an hour,” Kayla Alexander, a junior at the University of South Carolina, suggests. “I've always felt pretty rejuvenated after a quick workout!”

If you’re staying in a condo or somewhere else where there isn’t a gym, take a walk around the area and explore what they city has to offer. If you’re somewhere tropical, take a run on the beach. Incorporating a little exercise into your vacation will keep you feeling better and make it easier to get back into your fitness routine once you get home.

4. Buy your own food

Rather than going out for every meal, buy some healthy food that would be easy to prepare in your room. If you know your friends are going to bring a lot of junk food, buy yourself some fruit and veggies to snack on rather than indulging in the snacks they bring.

Buying your own food will save you money and unnecessary calories. For some ideas on what to buy, check out our health editor’s suggestions for healthy snacks to eat while traveling.

5. Don’t skip meals

When you’re on vacation, it’s easy to get caught up in whatever activity you are doing, but be sure to make the time to eat. If you’re drinking alcohol, skipping meals can be especially harmful; drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea.

Keep snacks with you so that if you find yourself hungry while you’re out, you’ll have something to hold you over. Healthy snacks such as an apple, nuts or carrots are perfect to keep with you in your purse. Whether it be a restaurant meal or food you bring, make sure you’re eating during the day.

6. Don’t overdo it at the buffet

On the flip side, you don’t want to overeat. When you’re on vacation, it’s easy to give yourself a free pass and indulge by eating everything. This is especially true if you’re on a cruise or staying in an all-inclusive resort where food is everywhere and always available for free. If this is the case, Holmberg says to “treat the buffet like a menu and take one food out of each category. Load up on the veggies first, eat them and then go back for the other things.”

While on vacation, you’re bound to go out for meals several times. Restaurant portions can be huge, causing you to eat more than you really need. If you go out to a restaurant, Holmberg says to “trade portions of starches for veggies [for example, get a side salad instead of fries]… you could also split a main course and get salads.” Of course, it’s always fine to treat yourself to whatever it is you want to eat on occasion, but just try to do so in moderation.

7. Be safe when it comes to sex

Even though it’s a cliché that everyone hooks up with strangers on spring break, doing so can put you at risk. “Sexual assault or a bad sexual experience is all too common on spring break,” Baty warns.

If you do choose to have sex, make sure you’re protected. Pack protection in your suitcase and keep it with you. Decide on your boundaries before you even leave for your trip, and make them very clear to your partner. If you feel uncomfortable in any way, don’t be afraid to just leave a situation.

Also, make sure that someone knows where you are if you decide to leave your friends at any point. “Each day, assign two friends to each other… that way, someone is always responsible for the other,” Baty says. “It makes it easier to know where each other is at all times and avoids confusion of who saw whom last.”

Keep these tips in mind as you set off on your spring break vacation, but remember to have fun, too. College spring break only happens a few times, so enjoy it. Indulge in moderation, drink water and stay safe, collegiettes!

Let's be honest, when you look back at photos of your middle school makeup, you can’t help but cringe. Part of you wants to burn all evidence, and the other part of you wants to shake your mother and ask her how she let you out of the house with foundation that was that orange. Aside from the tragic era of too much lip gloss and overly-straightened hair; do you know what was always on point? Your stationery game… all thanks to Lisa Frank.

The brand that you were obsessed with ten years ago (and TBH still are now) is trying to release a makeup line so that you can relive your middle school days, but, you know… with better beauty choices. The queen of the '90s, unicorns, and everything that we seem to be obsessed with in 2017, Lisa Frank, launched a Kickstarter with vegan and cruelty-free makeup brand Glamour Dolls in hopes of making her (and your) dreams come true.

The company aims to raise $30,000 to launch at least six makeup products, including a a lip balm, matte mousse (LOL throwback af), liquid liner, "unicorn lippie," highlighting powder, and a vegan leather makeup bag. In typical Lisa Frank fashion, this isn’t just going to be any old makeup line. Currently, the brands have already released an angled makeup brush that is everything you hoped it would be. Covered in unicorns, finished with a rose gold handle and pink-dipped bristles; this gorgeous piece of nostalgia retails for $4.99 on pre-order, meaning that it would be a bargain… even for your middle school self!

There's a twist with the Kickstarter… not only will those who contribute eventually get to own these inevitably adorable products, but they will get to be involved in the entire process, including voting during the naming process of the products, and giving an input on what shades will be created. After donating, you will also “unlock new products” and get exclusive, behind-the-scenes access and insider scoops into how the products are actually made. So what are you waiting for? You’re not fooling anyone if you try to pretend that you’re not fangirling over this collaboration!

Everyone knows acne is one of the worst things ever to happen to your face in your teenage years, but what do you do if you suddenly suffer from cystic acne as an adult? Model Mary Rosenberger knows this struggle all too well, and unfortunately had to learn how to continue her modeling career with her now breakout-prone skin.

After struggling through a bad breakup and realizing bad eating and drinking habits were contributing to her acne problems, Mary is finally overcoming her insecurities and getting back to her modeling career. However, it wasn't an easy path. Rosenberger had to learn how to overcome the insecurities that came with being looked at in a negative way by makeup artists on shoots, and even how to feel confident in her own skin again. "My transition was to...focus more on myself," she says in an interview with Allure. "Developing a skill or a hobby that you care about, that's what'll really bring you out of feeling un[der]confident."

Anyone who suffers from a similar acne or skin problem knows how difficult it is to get past the mental barriers the flareups can cause, but it's important to remember there are ways to get through it! Consulting a doctor and doing a little self-confidence shape-up worked for Rosenberger, and will work for you too!

Emma Watson Is Pretty Confident That Belle Doesn’t Have Stockholm Syndrome

Ever since the original Beauty and the Beast film debuted in 1991, people have been questioning if Belle only falls in love with Beast because she's forced to. Some think it's Stockholm syndrome, feelings of trust or affection felt by a victim toward a captor in certain cases of kidnapping or hostage-taking.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emma Watson, who plays Belle in the revamp, says that's not the case.

“It’s such a good question and it’s something I really grappled with at the beginning; the kind of Stockholm Syndrome question about this story,” she says. “So, I did some reading about Stockholm Syndrome…It’s where a prisoner will take on the characteristics of and fall in love with, in this really strange way, the captor. Belle actively argues and disagrees with [Beast] constantly. She has none of the characteristics of someone with Stockholm Syndrome because she keeps her independence, she keeps her independence of mind. And I think there’s a very intentional switch where, in my mind, Belle decides to stay."

Watson makes a good point. Belle resists until she starts to form a friendship with Beast, which then turns into a romantic relationship.

“They are having no illusions about who the other one is," she adds. "They have seen the worst of one another, and they also bring out the best.”

We can't wait to see their relationship unfold when the movie hits theaters March 17!

Trump Made Chris Christie Eat Meatloaf and the Internet Hilariously Responded

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says President Trump made him order meatloaf when he and his wife had lunch at the White House on Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, joined Trump to discuss the nation’s opioid epidemic during the lunch. The real story arose when it came time to order.

According to the Huffington Post, Christie was trending on Twitter late Thursday, but not because of the opioid epidemic discussed at lunch. It was because Trump told everyone else to order whatever they wanted from the menu but said he and Christie were going to have the meatloaf.

“That’s what it’s like to be with Trump,” Christie said while guest-hosting a New York-based sports radio show on Thursday. “He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.”

And the internet hilariously responded, as expected.
