Sneakers and female empowerment—two things we're obsessed with but never thought would come together. Well, you can thank Solange for making it happen. With a couple of stellar Puma collections already under her belt, the singer-songwriter is partnering with the brand for another design collaboration.
The line, which is called Word to the Woman, is much more than just a recreation of Puma’s Suede Classic WN’s sneaker. Solange, along with her brand Saint Heron, wants to applaud amazing women who “innovate and redefine roles in various walks of life.” And the collaboration’s campaign already nails that exact sentiment.
Solange chose several inspirational women, including Dr. Jessica Clemons and poet Cleo Wade, to pose in the line of sneaks. Swapping out the usual rotation of top models for females eager to provide words of wisdom about their career successes and the passions that drive them? *insert praise hands emoji here*
We love that Solange is willing to sacrifice the typical sales-driven promotion of her kicks to shine a light on a variety of women we can truly look up to. If you’re dying to shop the line, each of the four designs is priced at a fairly reasonable $90. We don’t know about you, but we can totally see ourselves running (late) to class in these colorful yet simple styles.
