4 Reasons You Shouldn't Choose a School Based on Its Reputation

When you’re figuring out where you want to spend the next four years of your life, there are many factors that go into your decision process—academics, geography and size are just a few. However, there is no denying that a school’s name can have a major effect on the way we perceive and rank it (both positively and negatively). While it can be hard to avoid falling into this trap, we’ve talked to real collegiettes on why it’s better to put names and (some) reputations aside when deciding on a school.

1. There are great schools you’ve never heard of

When looking at the strength of different academic programs, it can be easy to get caught up in Ivy League and big name schools—after all, they have well-established programs and thousands of successful alumni to back up their claims. However, being a well-known school and being a quality school aren’t synonymous traits.

“In high school, I knew I wanted to go to school for fashion and only applied to schools with my major,” says Sarah Cahn, a senior at Kent State University. “I applied to Kent State with no intentions of attending the school. I had never heard of the school before and did not want to go somewhere no one knew of. However, when I visited, I saw the beautiful campus and realized it had everything I wanted––a big school with Greek life and study abroad options.”

Sarah’s experience is proof that not every school is as it seems. Most schools, even if they’re small, have more to offer than you think.

“I am now a senior fashion merchandising major who is in a sorority and I was able to study abroad in Florence, Italy,” says Sarah. “This school has given me so many opportunities and I wouldn't want it any other way!”

If there is a school on your list that you’re not sure of or feel like you don’t know enough about, be willing to step out of your comfort zone and try a visit. You never know which school could end up being the one!

2. Big names and great reputations don’t guarantee happiness

Just because a school has a great reputation doesn’t mean it’s perfect for you. If you’re facing pressure from parents, counselors, or friends about your college decision, remember that in the end it’s your happiness that counts—not theirs.

“When I decided to go to The University of Alabama, everyone was shocked and disapproving, since I grew up in a suburb near Stanford University where the academic atmosphere since kindergarten was always highly competitive,” says Helmi Henkin, a current sophomore. “Where I'm from, rankings are often the only reason students apply to schools, and several of my classmates chose a higher ranked school over a school where they might have been happier because of the pressure they faced to impress the members of our community. However, I believe if you are happier at a school, you will excel there much more easily than if you go to a school just because of its name or reputation.”

While it can be difficult to overcome the reputations and stigmas that surround certain schools, it is important to consider every school you’re looking at equally. Rankings are just numbers, and you won’t know what a school is truly like until you take the time to visit and experience it.

3. Not all schools get enough credit

If you look at articles about “successful” and “highly-ranked” schools online, it’s no surprise that you will see the same names appearing again and again. It is easy for big schools to make headlines since they already get so much attention and funding elsewhere. However, there are many schools that are just as successful, but because of their size, don’t receive the publicity that more “popular” schools do.

“I think smaller and lesser known schools don't get enough credit,” says Alaina Leary, a first year graduate student at Emerson College. “I finished my undergrad at a small, unknown state school last year and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had: hands-on learning, small class sizes, easy opportunity for independent study and thesis projects, tons of co-ops and internships available.”

While many people assume smaller schools have less opportunities, Alaina’s experience proves it’s actually the opposite—a smaller student body can make it even easier to find internships, jobs, and other ways to get involved on campus.

“I now go to a slightly larger school with a really good rep for media and creative fields, and while people who find out are certainly more impressed at first mention of my in-progress master’s degree at a well known school, I think my undergrad prepared me in a way that people don't necessarily understand just because they've never heard of the school,” says Alaina.

Although rankings can clue you in on experiences and programs that are important to you, they should never be a make-or-break factor in your college decision process. After all, numbers are just numbers.

4. You have to follow your heart

While going with your gut is not the most strategic part of the decision-making process, sometimes, you just know what is best for you. If there is a school on your list that you can’t help but keep coming back to, you shouldn’t ignore that—regardless of its name or reputation.

“I think you're meant to be where you're meant to be,” says Kayla Lewkowicz, a graduate of Colby College. “As a high school student, I had trouble understanding that––particularly after the wait lists and rejections rolled in. But, I wouldn't have traded my experience for anything! Not going to an Ivy League school was the best thing for me. I would have been unhappy anywhere else!”

Even though money, location and size are all important factors in the decision-making process, sometimes, a school just wins your heart over. If you go on a visit and totally fall in love, a school’s name or reputation shouldn’t have any effect on that.

Although it can be difficult to overcome outside factors and opinions, remember that choosing a college is your decision and your decision only. Own this decision and avoid getting caught up in the rankings and numbers that surround a school. After all, only you can know what is best for you!

5 Weird Things Guys Do & What They Actually Mean

$

You’re having a great texting conversation with a guy you just met. He’s answering back right away, he’s funny and thoughtful with his responses, the whole nine yards… and then he just bluntly stops responding. Your mind automatically jumps to the worst possible conclusion. Did I say something wrong? Was I too forward?Did I scare him off?

Guys do weird things, and we girls typically worry about them when we don’t need to. Just because a reaction means one thing in girl code (c’mon, ladies, we all know the silent treatment is deadly), doesn’t necessarily mean a guy feels the same way. We’re revealing the true meanings behind the odd antics that guys are often prone to!

1. He’s quiet when you hang out together

When a guy is quiet around us, we tend to assume it’s because he’s upset. He might be, but chances are, he could also just be thinking about other things.

“It is maddening for girls when a guy is quiet, because it can mean so many different things – really good or really bad,” says Carole Lieberman, M.D., psychiatrist and author of Bad Girls: Why Men Love Them & How Good Girls Can Learn Their Secrets.“It could mean he's feeling that he loves you so much and hoping that you love him, too. Or, he could be feeling intimidated by you, or worrying about his upcoming poli sci test or what movie he wants to see this weekend. But we girls jump to the worst conclusions –thinking he's quiet because he's angry or because he's figuring out how to tell you that he wants to break up.”

The easiest thing to do is to simply talk things out. If a guy isn’t talking, ask him what’s wrong. As long as you do so in an open manner, he won’t feel judged, and he will be more willing to answer truthfully.

Lieberman recommends not making him feel trapped. “You never want to say, ‘What are you thinking?’ because you are unlikely to be happy with his answer,” she says. “If you must say something, you can say, ‘I notice you're a little quieter today than usual. If you'd like some time to yourself, we can stop what we're doing and get together another time.’ This takes the pressure off of him immediately. If he says, ‘That's a good idea,’ you can follow with, ‘I have studying to do anyway,’ or ‘I'll go check out what my friends are doing.’ It gets him to wonder whether you're going to have more fun without him.”

2. His texts are blunt

As girls, we like to use text messaging as a form of self-expression. Whether it’s through an emoji or an exclamation point, you always know we’re absorbed in the conversation (unless you get the dreaded “K.”). Guys, on the other hand, tend to be much more straightforward texters. While girls may interpret this as lack of interest, it’s not necessarily the case.

Geoffery Greif, a professor at the University of Maryland School of Social Work and author of Buddy System: Understanding Male Friendships, says that when a guy is a cold texter, “it means he hasn't been socialized to be a warmer texter or he is not interested in the person he is texting. With both these questions, some guys may have difficulty communicating and may need to be taught how to do it in a way that it will be received better.”

This could, however, carry another meaning, according to Cory Leschel, a freshman at the University of North Florida. “I send direct text messages for one of two reasons: Either I’m not interested but don’t want to be mean, or I am interested but I’m acting like I am not so you become more interested,” he says.

The important thing to remember is that you can’t base the status of a relationship off of one means of communication; you need to put his behavior into a broader context, Greif says. “A bad texter who also doesn’t call or show much interest in someone is… probably NOT interested,” he says. “A bad texter who is interested when with you may just be a bad texter or busy at the time or a bad speller.”

The best way to assess this type of situation is to see how your relationship stands on multiple means of communication!

3. He acts differently when his friends are around

Have you ever been hanging out with a guy and it’s going great, then the next thing you know, his friends show up and he’s a completely different person? For example, he says romantic things to you while you’re one on one, but when his bros enter the scene he’s cold and unaffectionate. Hey, give us a heads up next time!

Patrick Wanis, a relationship and human behavior expert, dishes that the key to figuring this odd behavior out is asking yourself, “Is he more comfortable around me and less comfortable around other people? Or vice versa?”

“That’s going to give you the clue,” Wanis says. “If you see he is more comfortable in a group setting than with you, that action is telling you there is a problem in the relationship between you and that person, and he puts on a mask and he acts differently for certain people.”

Cory says that a guy might act differently because “he might be insecure and feel like he has to act a certain way to fit in or look cool in his friends’ eyes. It all depends on the specific situation and the people involved. People use different tactics to hid their insecurities; it doesn’t always mean he isn’t interested.”

In this situation, Cory says you should reconsider the relationship you’re in. “Anyone who does that is immature and you should have more self-worth than to be with someone like that unless it’s there is a good reason behind it,” he says.

4. He prefers bro time to being with you

If a guy doesn’t want to spend all his free time with you, it can make you feel like he’s not interested in you anymore.

“Girls tend to overreact if a guy doesn't want to spend every minute with them. We take it as a sign of their cheating or [that] they’re losing interest,” Lieberman says. “Guys want ‘guy time’: time to be with their friends or to be alone doing something they enjoy or studying. When a girl overreacts to this, the guy feels smothered. His natural instinct is to free himself from the trap.”

Wanis says that the idea of guys needing ‘guy time’ might just mean he wants time for himself. “[It] could mean that he has been spending so much time with you that he is losing his identity or individuality and he wants to connect more with the guys,” he says. “His male friends might be complaining he’s not spending enough time with them.”

When a guy makes an effort to hang out with his friends, it doesn’t always mean he is distancing himself; he might just need some time with the bros. Wanis advises girls to not be ambiguous in what they want, but rather to be direct and make a point to acknowledge the fact that you want to hang out with him more. Try picking one day a week (like “date night”) that is reserved for the two of you to hang out. This way you can each spend time with your own friends but make sure to have time for each other.

5. He gets defensive about little things

Have you ever been making a small joke or seemingly harmless remark and a guy takes it way out of proportion? Your initial reaction might be to think he has something to hide. However, it depends on the circumstances.

“If someone is becoming highly defensive, you know that it is coming out of insecurity,” Wanis says. “Another reason of defensiveness could be we are challenging someone’s ideas or beliefs, which we can argue still comes from a place of insecurity.”

Wanis advises that the best thing to do is to let your guy know in a softer manner that it wasn’t your intention to make him uncomfortable. “Make sure your tonality becomes less threatening so your voice becomes much more accepting,” he says.

Greif says that “sometimes taking a minute and letting something harmless pass is the best move.  But if the odd behavior is not harmless, she should reevaluate her relationship with him.”

When it comes to decoding guys, your best bet is to not let your anxiety get the best of you. Guys can say things and do things they don’t realize can be confusing. Talk it out, and soon enough, you’ll find out what his behavior means!

College Students are Calling for Free Tampons in University Bathrooms

As college students continue to exercise their right to free speech and protest, they're pushing for increased, free access to menstrual products at school.

According to the Huffington Post, many student groups at the University of Arizona wrote a letter to their school’s administration asking for the plights of “marginalized” groups to be recognized. Among the list of demands: “All restrooms should include small trashcans in all stalls, free tampons, and free menstrual pads.”

There have been similar calls to action at Columbia and Emory University, with students asking for tampon dispensers on campus. Columbia, at least, now provides free tampons in the student health center. According to Inside Higher Ed, last November, several legislators from Wisconsin, California and New York have introduced bills calling for easier access to feminine hygiene products.

The call for better access to menstruation products comes in conjunction with arguments over the fact that it's easier to get contraceptives on campus than any period products—a comparison addressed by Barnard student, Courtney Couillard, in a February op-ed. She wrote: "Sure, I can easily find a free condom on Barnard and Columbia's campuses, but why can't I find a free tampon in the bathrooms? Why does the administration care about my sexual protective rights, but not how I handle my monthly menstrual cycle?" It's a good question—and one schools need to address. Sex has become less stigmatized, but menstruation is still considered gross and taboo, even as women shell out hundreds of dollars a year for pads and tampons. Those products are not optional, and society needs to stop pushing periods into the shadows and actually do something about this.

While these plates are handy, they can often clutter up your counter. Save space by putting plates and napkins in a magazine file for simple storage!

4. Wood Drawer Inserts

11. Plastic Bag Storage

You never know when you'll need a plastic bag, so make sure to save the bags you get during your next grocery stop. Then, put all your collected bags in an old disinfecting wipe container; you'll never have to look for a plastic bag again!

12. Labeled Medicine Drawers

Sometimes you need a Band-Aid right away. Don't get caught sifting through your medicine cabinet. Label your medicines and supplies by illness or injury, and you'll be able to stop the pain in an instant.

13. Nail Polish Wall Art

Make a statement with your nail polish in more ways than one! Craft this shelving unit from an old frame to give your polishes the platform they deserve.

Here’s What You Missed on the Third Super Tuesday

$

The 2016 primaries and caucuses are well underway, with leading candidates halfway to the required number of delegates to win their parties’ nominations. Super Tuesday round three took place last night with five states—Florida, Illinois, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio—voting on a presidential nominee. CNN broadcast the results for about six hours last night. If you couldn’t manage to watch all of the votes trickle in, here’s what you missed during the primaries:

Donald Trump is still way ahead

Despite the violence and riots that erupted at his rally in Chicago, Trump managed to continue his winning streak. The New York Times results showed Trump winning Florida, Illinois, and North Carolina (Trump is leading in Missouri but his win isn’t finalized there). This brings Trump up to 661 delegates—more than half of the 1,237 needed to become the Republican nominee.

Hillary pulled in some major wins

During the last week’s primaries, Hillary Clinton’s campaign took a pretty large blow once Sanders won in Michigan, edging closer to stealing her lead. Last night, Clinton made up for the losses by winning in Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and Ohio. Like Trump, Clinton is more than halfway to winning the Democratic nomination, with 1,132 delegates out of the 2,383 needed to win.

According to the Economist, Clinton slammed Trump in her victory speech in Florida, saying, “When we hear a candidate for president call for rounding up 12 million immigrants, banning all Muslims from entering the United States, when he embraces torture, that doesn’t make him strong—it makes him wrong.” It seems that Clinton is shifting her attacks from Sanders to Trump, setting her sights on beating him out in November.

Bernie and Cruz didn’t win any of the states—but they came close

Although Sanders and Ted Cruz did not manage to decisively win in any states, they did come pretty close. The New York Times reported that Ted Cruz only lost by three percentage points in North Carolina. Meanwhile, Sanders lost by two percentage points in Illinois. Both candidates could still win in Missouri…

No one really knows what’s going on in Missouri

After the vote counting in Missouri was completed last night, Clinton and Trump lead over Sanders and Cruz, respectively, by only half a percentage point each. The margin of victory was so small that CNN did not announce a winner. Instead, the state is waiting on overseas absentee ballots and provisional ballots to come in over the next few days. As of 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Clinton lead Sanders 49.6 percent to 49.4 percent. Similarly, Trump was ahead of Cruz 40.8 percent to 40.6 percent. Ted Cruz could win as many as 27 more delegates if he wins after the rest of the ballots are counted. We should find out who won Missouri by Friday.

Marco Rubio suspended his campaign

Unfortunately, things did not go so smoothly for Marco Rubio. The 44-year-old suspended his campaign in a speech after losing by a huge margin in his home state of Florida. It “is not God’s plan that I be president in 2016 or maybe ever,” said Rubio according to the The Washington Post. Both Cruz and Trump congratulated the Florida senator on his campaign. The Economist reported that Ted Cruz said, “[He is someone who can] paint a picture and weave a tapestry about the promise of America like nobody else…we welcome you with open arms.”

John Kasich won Ohio

While Florida promised an end to Rubio’s campaign, Ohio did the opposite for John Kasich. The Republican candidate won handily in his home state, earning 47 percent of the votes and 66 delegates. “To have people believe in you and to believe you can bring people together and strengthen our country, I have to thank the people of the great state of Ohio. I love you,” said Kasich according to Forbes. “I will not take the low road to the highest office in the land.”

Although Kasich does not have a chance of winning the nomination through delegates—he would need to win more than 100 percent of the remaining ones—he could make it to a broken convention and be an alternative to Donald Trump.

The next votes will take place on Tuesday, March 22 for the Idaho Democratic Caucus and the Arizona and Utah primaries. The nominations are still far from decided, so get out there and vote!

Lyft Drivers Can Rent Their Cars for Free from GM

Life just got way easier for people hoping to drive for Lyft, a car-hailing service similar to Uber. GM has promised to rent cars to Lyft drivers for free if they complete enough rides every week.

As many as 60,000 people in Chicago applied to be Lyft drivers, but they did not own a qualifying car. That's where two-month-old partnership between Lyft and General Motors Co. comes in. GM just established the Express Ride program, in which Lyft drivers in Chicago can rent a vehicle on a weekly basis for just $99. If they complete 65 or more rides per week, the vehicle is free to rent. This program will soon be rolled out to Lyft in Boston, Washington D.C. and Baltimore, according to CNBC.

USA Today reported that John Zimmer, Lyft co-founder and president, said “Launching Express Drive is another way we treat our drivers better, in addition to Power Driver Bonus, tips and same day payouts. We’re making sure everyone who wants to be a Lyft driver can be, by providing ultimate flexibility at incredible rates.”

GM invested $500 million in Lyft two months ago, so the company is hoping that the rental service will allow Lyft to serve as many customers as possible. According to the The Los Angeles Times, more than 400 people have shown interest in the Express Drive program.

This is the first part of GM’s two-part plan for the ride-sharing company. The second part will be autonomous driving cars that customers can opt for—AKA self-driving cars! This plan is still a few years down the road, so let's take advantage of the opportunity to drive cars for money while it lasts.

Wait no longer, Princess Diaries fans—a third installment could be in the making soon!

"I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,"Director Garry Marshall told PEOPLE. "Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we're going to do it."

Fortunately, Chris Pine is on board to reprise his role, too. When asked by a fan whether he was hoping for another film, he responded, "Have you been reading my diary?"

It would be cruel to tease us like this and not make the movie, so we're going to go ahead and consider this a formal confirmation that the third movie is on its way. It's long overdue!

U.S. Student Sentenced to 15 Years of Hard Labor in North Korea

A 21-year old U.S. student has been sentenced to an incredibly harsh 15 years of prison and hard labor, following what seems to be a prank gone terribly wrong. University of Virginia student Otto Warmbier was taking a tourist trip around North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang, and was arrested at the city’s airport in early Janurary when trying to depart.

In a public appearance a few weeks ago, Warmbier said he was accused of stealing a propaganda poster from his hotel room to take back home in Ohio. NPR reports that Warmbier’s offense was kept a secret for several weeks until recently, when he gave a bizarre confession involving stealing the poster in order to get money for his family and gain entry into a secret UVA group.  In the confession, Warmbier was repentant, calling the offense “the worst mistake of my life.”

Phil Robertson, Asia director for Human Rights Watch said in a statement, “Pyongyang should recognize this student’s self-admitted mistake as the misdemeanor offense that it would be in most countries, release him on humanitarian grounds and send him home.”

The timing of North Korea’s public sentencing is also suspicious. It came as the United States was looking to punish North Korea after it conducted its fourth nuclear test and long-range rocket launch.

Why President Obama Should Star in 'Hamilton'

In case you've been living under a rock for the past few months, you've probably heard about the enormously popular Broadway musical, Hamilton. It's a hip-hop musical that offers a unique take on the story of Alexander Hamilton, the first Secretary of Treasury of the U.S.

The cast of the show recently took a special trip down to the Capitol where they got to get a little up close and personal with the president and the First Lady. So it was only right for the writer of the Broadway hit, Lin-Manuel Miranda, to challenge President Obama in a freestyle rap battle

Which brings us to the conclusion that President Obama should officially be invited to be a member of the cast. Here's why.

1. He already knows a good bit about American history.

2. He can keep a beat.

3. And so can Michelle.

4. Which makes it so easy to believe that he has enough natural swag to spit some fire in a hip-hop musical.

5. Sasha and Malia can make a cameo that will literally slay our entire existence.

6. And the sass.

7. The sass is on point.

So, President Obama, it's time to send in your casting tape because you're the next big thing.

Obama Chooses Merrick Garland for Supreme Court

After Justice Antonin Scalia died in February, we all wondered whom President Obama would appoint as the new Supreme Court justice. This Wednesday, President Obama revealed that he has chosen Merrick B. Garland, who, at 63 is older than some of the justices (who are mostly in their 50s, with some exceptions). Garland now has the potential to make a lot of changes if he's chosen as a decisionmaker on the country's highest court.

According to The New York Times, up until the death of Justice Scalia, the Supreme Court has been split down the middle in terms of making decisions on important topics like abortion, immigration, and the death penalty. A new person's opinion on these matters can help our nation move from talking about change to actually accomplishing it.

President Obama has sung the praises of Judge Garland, stating that he has, "one of America's sharpest legal minds," but also, "someone who brings to his work a spirit of decency, modesty, integrity, even-handedness, and excellence." according to the Times.

However, President Obama knows that a new member of the Supreme Court will, inevitably, not make everyone living in America happy. He asked for everyone, especially Republican senators, to keep an open mind and remember to be fair. However, the Republican Senate has promised they will not consider any Obama nominee for the Supreme Court, saying the next president should be the one to fill the vacancy. Sen. Mitch McConnell has already called Garland and said the Senate will not consider him.

After President Obama made his speech, Judge Garland spoke about how honored he is to continue his legal career at such a high level.

That Mural of Kim Kardashian's Nude Selfie Has Already Been Vandalized

Remember when Kim Kardashian broke the Internet (again!) last week with those nude selfies? Well, artist and social media activist, Lush Sux, decided that we should all remember it – for a very, very long time – so he painted a giant mural of the image in Melbourne, Australia.

@kimkardashian

A photo posted by lushsux (@lushsux) on

The 30-foot mural wasn't even up for a solid week before vandals attacked it, smearing it with paint while slut-shaming the celebrity. Lush Sux told BuzzFeed that the backlash “was a given, considering the subject matter,” but he’s “bummed that people didn’t get more of a chance to interact with it.” Like this fan did.

One of his biggest concerns was that “someone felt the dire need to spray ‘SLUT’ across it.”

Andddd this is why we can't have nice things @kimkardashian

A photo posted by lushsux (@lushsux) on

The patriarchy strikes again unfortunately, but Kim said it best in her blog post on International Women’s Day: “I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me… I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me.”

Kim’s come a long way since her sex tape days. In the 13 years that have passed (yep, it’s been 13 years!), she’s established herself as an ultra-successful entrepreneur and global pop culture icon. And if you still can’t deal with her nude selfies, consider the overwhelmingly positive response the Biebs got when he posted an uncensored photo of his buns on Instagram.

At least the artist (and Kim K.) would be happy to know that the vandalism has only inspired further rebellion against slut-shaming. Haters, stand down.

A Dad Posed as a Teenager to Get Naked Photos From His Own Daughter

On Monday, a 41-year-old father pleaded guilty to child pornography charges, what makes matters even worse is that the victim was his own daughter. The man, whose identity is remaining anonymous in order to protect the daughter, posed as a teenage boy on Instagram and proceeded to carry out an online relationship with his daughter. As if that alone isn't terrifying enough, he manipulated his 14-year-old daughter into sending him nude photos.

According to Cosmopolitan, the man began this horrendous ordeal in October of 2013. He and his daughter began dating via the internet, but things got even worse when the daughter tried to end the relationship.

He then threatened his daughter, saying that if she didn't send him more photos, he would send their conversations and photos to her father (which was also him—this is getting confusing). The daughter sent more photos hoping to finally end things.

After some time had passed, the father then posed as the fake teenage boy's mother on his phone, texting his daughter to say her ex-boyfriend had committed suicide. Then, the father proceeded to take the texts and photos between his daughter and the "boyfriend" and put them on his phone, telling his daughter someone had sent them to him. He used these to sexually abuse his daughter.

After this, the daughter was able to find help going to her school's nurse. Now, the man had plead guilty to 12 counts of enticing a child to produce child pornography and to sending and receiving child porn. He faces up to 250 years in prison.

Apparently, Kanye West Gets Rides From the Paparazzi When Uber Doesn't Show

Turns out Kanye West is really feeling that $53 million debt. When his Uber didn’t show up yesterday, he hopped a ride with the paparazzi instead. He was going to meet up with his trainer.

Kanye and the paparazzi had a nice little chat (something about Kanye maybe possibly supporting Trump) while he was waiting for his Uber. Kanye, being the concerned customer that he is, was calling to check on his ride when the paps offered to take him wherever he wanted to go. This is the part of the story where the frugal rapper realized that he doesn’t even need to pay an Uber to take him places; he has the paparazzi at his beck and call.

We’d say that it was a weird day, but for Kanye we're guessing it was really a day like any other.

19 Reasons Why Your Life in the 90s Was Significantly Better Than Your Life Now

Chances are if you’re reading this, you were a child of the ‘90s. Although the modern age is definitely exciting, there are things about life in the ‘90s we desperately wish we could bring back. Check out these 19 reason why your life in the ‘90s was significantly better than you life now.

1. You didn’t know what exams and final papers were.

You didn’t know how harsh life could get.

2. You could enjoy Sunday morning cartoons.

The Power Puff girls were your first squad.

3. Because you never had to cook your own meals.

Thank God kids can’t use stoves.

4. Your Tamagotchi was your only real responsibility.

If only this was still true.

5. You still had hopes of marrying someone in a Boy Band.

Too bad Justin Timberlake is no longer available.

6. Everyone understood Clueless references.

The best movie of the century.

7. There were still more Harry Potter books (and movies) to be released.

Back when you still had hope for the future.

8. No one cared about your relationship status.

Since everyone thought you were too young for a boyfriend anyway.

9. Social Media didn’t control your life.

You had to actually call your friend to make plans.

10. Naps were an enforced part of your day.

Thanks mom!

11. You didn’t have to pay for everything yourself.

Another perk of being a child.

12. You were young enough to order Happy Meals from McDonalds.

You had to collect all the toys you could.

13. Nirvana and the Spice Girls were still releasing new music.

Quality music.

14. It was before you realized how complicated your love life could get.

Boys are the worse.

15. Because Friends was just starting.

And that meant you had a decade of new seasons to watch.

16. Same with Sex and the City!

You would give anything to see your favorite ladies with fresh eyes.

17. Reality T.V. hadn’t taken over your life yet.

As much as you love the Kardashians, sometimes it’s too much.

18. Fashion was at an all time high.

We miss when chunky boots and butterfly clips were acceptable party attire.

19. The toys and board games were legendary.

We mean Furby.

The 90’s were definitely a great time to be a child! As much as we do miss the ‘90s, we don’t think we’d want to trade everything we have in the 2000s (hey, iPhones and Instagram) to relive the pre-social media days. But a little nostalgia never hurts.

9 College Women Share Their Tinder Nightmares

Tinder – it can be super fun and a great way to meet people — but it can also be a source of disaster. These 9 college women told us the most horrifying things that have happened on the dating app—read on!

“One time, I accidentally matched with this boy, we talked and he seemed really nice, he asked me for coffee and we went and it was fine. But, after that, he sent me really weird messages, like pictures of cats and wanted me to hang out with his friends. Ultimately, we went on a second date to go see Ant Man and he was asking me if I had ever read the comics, and I said no and he flat out said I was stupid! He called me stupid for not reading comic books! And then, later during the movie, he made us leave before the extra scene because he said, ‘I wouldn't understand it.’ Because I didn't read the comics!”

-Shelby, University of Kansas Class of 2017

“I started talking to this guy and within 30 minutes we had already made tentative plans to meet up the next day. Now, seeing as how my decision to talk to him was out of a late night pity-party for myself, I had quickly changed my mind after a good night's sleep. But he didn't get that message; that next night he showed up at my dorm room unannounced. The creepy part? I hadn't told him where I lived. Come to find out, he had mutual friends with my roommate but that still didn't help how creeped out I was when I came home from practice to find this guy sitting in my room.”

“I matched with this guy on Tinder on accident and just didn't bother un-matching him. One night at 1 a.m. he messages me five times in a row, asking me questions like ‘when's your birthday, Pam?’ ‘do you like to drink, Pam?’ Every time he asked me questions he would say my name. This went on for two hours until I finally unmatched with him.”

-Pam, University of Cincinnati Class of 2019

“So I was talking to this guy on Tinder, and we're both looking for something casual. So long story short, he picks me up at a bus stop of all places, and drives me over to his place. We get there and he has two dogs so we're playing with them and whatever and we go upstairs. We're getting into it and I go to take off his shirt, but he leaves his white T-shirt on, which was a little weird. Then his dogs start barking and scratching at his door so he yells and they shut up briefly. And these dogs just keep barking and barking so he lets them into the room! Like now I'm having sex with this dude with his dogs in the room and I am not a dog person to begin with. So he finishes and the dog gets up on the bed! So at this point, I've had sex to the sound of barking dogs, and been licked by some giant furry retriever. Can't say it was my best Tinder experience...”

-Andie, Bishop’s University Class of 2019

“I met this guy on Tinder and he seemed super sweet! We decided to go out for coffee. We really hit it off in person and ended up going back to his place. While we were making out on the couch, the door opens and a girl walks in! I pause but he doesn't. She looks at us, shrugs, and continues walking around the living room, looking at us the whole time! I stop him and he looks at me like I'm an idiot then says, ‘Oh her? She's my girlfriend. It's an open thing.’ I couldn't believe it! I left right away. I'm still on the app but now I do a bit more Facebook stalking before I go to hook up!”

“When I first moved away to college, Tinder was just becoming popular and I joined it to see what was out there. I ended up agreeing to do a double date with a guy who wasn't so cute, but seemed nice. My roommate and I met the guys at the restaurant and it just went down from there. I'm pretty sure they were still in high school and my guy kept intensely staring at me the entire time. During dinner, he pretended to ‘read my palm’ just to hold my hand on the table. As if it wasn't uncomfortable enough, he paid with gift cards. Yes, gift cards. To top it off, we still had tickets to a movie after dinner. As soon as we sat down in the theater, he literally jumped on top of me and started trying to make out with me. The entire movie was spent trying to get him off of me. He would lie all over me and kiss me everywhere and kept trying to ask if I wanted to go in the back row. Every time I told him no he would ask, ‘Come on, you seriously want to watch the movie?’ Um yes, yes I did. It was so disgusting and mortifying. I would've left earlier but my other roommates showed up to spy on us and I didn't want them to waste their tickets. As soon as the movie was over, we bolted and I blocked his number. It's safe to say that I deleted Tinder after this and haven't downloaded it since.”

-Taylor, The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising Class of 2016

“I have been on a few Tinder dates but my last one was a nightmare. So we meet up at Olive Garden for this date. Everything was going well till this very agitated lady walks in and picks up a knife from my table and threatens to stab me if I don't leave. My date turned and it was his crazy ex-girlfriend. Having some experience with self-defense I was able to disarm her. But then she started to throw fists. Next thing you know we were in a fight inside this wonderful Olive Garden and after that there are police officers pulling me off of her. After a few minutes I found out my date was on parole and had an ankle tracker and he was outside his restricted area. All three of us were led out of the restaurant in handcuffs. After about two hours in the back of a cruiser they let me go thankfully, as some of the customers at the restaurant let them know I was just defending myself. The officers told me that the other two were headed downtown. Apparently the ex was high on multiple drugs. So that was the very last Tinder date that I will ever go on. So for all those who do still use Tinder here is a word of caution.”

-Sadie, Colorado State University Class of 2017

“I'd been talking to this 26-year-old financial advisor for a few weeks on Tinder. He seemed smart, interesting, and pretty funny. He offered to make me a really good meal. I made a cake, put on a dress, and went over. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that his really expensive apartment was a mess. Then, he handed me a stuffed animal. I didn't know how to respond so I just took it. We started watching a movie, and out of nowhere, he grabbed a garbage bag and dumped the contents on top of me — Beanie Babies. He had 30-or-so Beanie Babies in a garbage bag under his coffee table, and then went on to explain each one's name and monetary value. I lied and said I forgot I had school to do, and I ran.”

We Need to Talk About That Haleb Moment From the 'PLL' Finale

$

The finale of Pretty Little Liars threw us for a loop and left us in awe, to say the least. While this episode presented us with some of the most shocking revelations we have probably ever had about the show, it also brought back some of PLL’s most beloved couples. Ezra and Aria revived their love, which we knew was eventually going to happen, and we even saw Spencer and Toby have a little reunion—although, sadly, we didn’t see any on-screen action between the two. But the rekindled couple that we’re most excited about is obviously Hanna and Caleb. We knew the two still had feelings for each other somewhere deep down, but this episode reminded us all why we've been Team Haleb from day one.

It might not always seem like Hanna is still in love with Caleb, but this episode definitely put to rest any doubts we may have had. Hanna's flashback of running out in the pouring rain to go back for Caleb in New York only to find that he had already left immediately broke our hearts. But rest assured, when the show bounced back to reality, we saw the moment that made us fall in love with Haleb all over again: Caleb wiping the tears running down Hanna’s face after she had just revealed to him, “I never stopped loving you.” Can you say, #relationshipgoals? But sadly, the scene didn’t last too long, and it looks like Hanna and Caleb may never be an item again (insert crying emoji here). But, we’re not too upset with the fate of Hanna and Caleb's relationship right now. We're more worried about if Hanna is still alive or not. Regardless, #Haleb forever.
