They say that dogs are man's best friend, so does that mean cats are a woman's best friend? We sure think so! Here are 15 signs that your cat is your best friend.

1. You tell your cat your problems.

Because no one is a better listener.

2. Your cat is the best snuggle buddy you know.

Although he is always little spoon.

3. You know your cat won't judge you.

Mostly because cats can't talk.

4. Your cat loves to watch the same TV shows as you.

And only sometimes tries to pause the episode by stepping on the keyboard.

5. Your cat is always trying to help.

Especially when it comes to doing laundry.

6. Your cat is the best secret-keeper you know.

Again, it can be a good thing that cats can't talk.

7. Your cat puts up with all your annoying habits.

She is very patient.

8. You look forward to spending time with your cat.

And you miss him when you're apart.

9. You and your cat always have a good time together.

No matter what.

10. You stand up for your cat.

(Cat) haters gonna hate.

11. Life is never boring with your cat.

He's easily excited.

12. Your cat loves naps as much as you do.

Just like you, sleeping is her favorite pastime.

13. You and your cat have the best talks.

Meow? Meow.

14. You love your cat unconditionally.

And you know he feels the same.

15. Your cat is the best person you know.

And that's a fact.

8 (Non-Sketchy) Ways to Sell Your Stuff

You know that old sweater you used to love? The one that still looks great, but just isn’t you anymore? You could let it sit in the back of your closet gathering dust, or you could give it (and your budget) a new life by selling it to someone else!

Let’s face it — whether living in a cramped dorm room, in a modest apartment or at home with your folks, most collegiettes have a thing or two they’d like to purge, and they’d also like to make some money doing it. But selling your things can be frustrating. Online venues like craigslist are popular but sometimes sketchy, and you probably aren’t selling enough items to host a full-blown garage sale. That’s why we’re here to fill you in on some other ways to sell your things, as recommended by deal-seeking collegiettes like you!

Consignment stores

One great way to sell your things is to look up consignment stores (businesses that buy and sell secondhand clothing and other items) in your area. Becoming a seller at most consignment stores is pretty simple: Bring all the items you’d like sell to the store in person, and then an employee will look through your items and decide which pieces the store will purchase and for how much. It’s important to get a feel for the kind of items each consignment store generally buys and sells, otherwise you might leave with handfuls of unwanted stuff and empty pockets.

1. Plato’s Closet

With locations in the United States and Canada, Plato’s Closet is a popular choice among collegiettes who want to sell their pre-loved clothing and accessories.

Alyssa Opdyke, a junior at Fordham University, recommends Plato’s Closet but warns that the store can be picky. “Clothes … have to be super trendy usually, or they won't even take them,” Alyssa says. “But you can get decent money if you have good stuff.”

Specifically, Plato’s Closet asks for current, name-brand fashion pieces that have been gently used, so don’t bother taking a blouse here that you’ve been hoarding for the past few years. If you think your closet has what it takes, then give it a shot! You could walk away with some quick cash.

2. Buffalo Exchange

Take your gently used current and vintage styles to Buffalo Exchange, another consignment store that works a lot like Plato’s Closet. Buffalo Exchange takes retro styles, not just the latest fashions like Plato’s Closet does, but they do ask for quality clothing and accessories in great shape. They also ask that you call your local store ahead of time to see what they’re looking to buy. Although Buffalo Exchange can be a bit picky as well, you can make a great sale if you know what the store is looking for. Plus, Buffalo Exchange donates five cents to a charity of the customer’s choice for every bag refused by the customer, so you can become part of a worthy cause.

Hannah Rupp, thrifter and fashion blogger at An Old Story, a secondhand-style blog, says that ideally she sells at consignment stores like Plato’s Closet and Buffalo Exchange as well as independent local sellers before heading online.

“You get to talk to a real person, know where your stuff is going, and, in most cases, you get payout on the spot,” Rupp says. “It’s a great option for someone who doesn’t have time to wait around on the Internet!”

3. Half Price Books

Don’t think that consignment stores only buy clothing and accessories. Some stores, like Half Price Books, buy pre-loved books, movies, music and other tech. Selling to Half Price Books works just like selling to other consignment stores: Show up at a store with your items, and the staff will make you a cash offer depending on the condition of and demand for the stuff you’re trying to sell. Plus, they donate thousands of books to nonprofits each year!

Websites and apps

You’re always hearing about craigslist and eBay, but there are so many more websites and apps dedicated to helping you sell your secondhand treasures. These venues make selling convenient (you can do it from home!) and virtually hassle-free.

4. Poshmark

Poshmark is a fabulous virtual alternative to a traditional consignment store if you’re looking to sell gently used clothing, shoes and accessories. This app, available for free for Apple and Android phones, lets you create an account, post items you’d like to sell and engage with buyers.

Although the app takes 20 percent commission from any sale of $15 or more and a flat fee of $2.95 from smaller sales, Poshmark sends you a prepaid shipping label whenever you sell an item, taking a lot of pain out of the shipping process.

Lindsay Wallman, a senior at The College of New Jersey, swears by Poshmark. “[It] is an awesome app that is 100 percent trustworthy and is perfect for selling your extra clothes, shoes and accessories,” she says. “I have had a great deal of success with it and have even found some awesome items for myself!”

Melissa Tierney, fashion blogger at MissyOnMadison.com and deal-seeker, says that she particularly likes Poshmark for its unique interactive features.

“Rather than eBay, where you are just buying and selling items, Poshmark has 'parties' daily that have specially curated style picks from users 'closets' based on the theme of that party,” Tierney says. “For example, a month ago I was asked to host a 'Fall Forward' party on the app, so I went around for two hours and shared fall pieces from my closet as well as fellow Poshers’, and usually that leads to sales because those pieces grab users’ attention!”

With its easy-to-use interface and fashionable community, it’s not hard to see how selling for Poshmark can feel like a fun game!

5. Twice

Twice is another website and app where you can sell your pre-loved clothes and accessories. Twice works like a long-distance consignment store: You send all the clothes you want to sell to them, and they give you an offer for the entire package, which you can choose to accept or reject.

But get this — Twice covers the shipping for you in one of two ways. You can print out your prepaid shipping label (think Poshmark), or you can request a free selling kit that will arrive at your address in under a week complete with a prepaid shipping label. Plus, if your package gets lost in transit, it’s insured for up to $100.

After you ship your package, Twice will make you an offer within the one week. Then, you can choose regular payment (check, PayPal or Venmo) or store credit. If you reject the offer, you owe Twice $4.95 to cover shipping your package back.

Rupp has had some serious success with Twice. “[It was] easy to use, paid for shipping both ways (and included a free mailing bag for my clothes!) and only took about two to four weeks to get a payout,” she says.

Twice is looking for stain-free, current items (less than five years old) from top brands. Send over clothes from brands like Gap, American Eagle and J.Crew, but don’t bother with anything from Forever 21 or H&M. If you have top-notch clothes in great condition, Twice is perfect fit for you.

6. Gazelle

Gazelle buys used smartphones, tablets, iPods, computers and more. The site gives you a free offer taking into account the type of device and its condition. For example, an iPhone 5 in good condition (with no significant cracks but not brand new) can earn you around $150 depending on its storage capacity and carrier.

Unlike Poshmark, Gazelle sellers don’t directly interact with their customers. An online community isn’t right for everyone, so if you’re looking for just a quick sale, Gazelle could be the venue for you.

“It is easy, gives you a fair price and allows you not to have to interact directly with a buyer like eBay or craigslist does,” says Kathryn Balben, a first-year at the University of Virginia who has had success selling her MacBook and iPhone with Gazelle.

Gazelle also covers shipping for items valued at over $1 and pays out relatively quickly after the team inspects your gadget: from three to five business days for an online payment through PayPal or up to 10 business days for a mailed check.

Social media

When you’re thinking of selling your things, don’t take for granted the community you interact with every day. If you’ve got a decent online following already, then you might not need to look any further than your favorite social networking sites.

7. Facebook

If you’re active on Facebook, you probably belong to a few groups. These can be great tools for selling, especially groups for college students. Universities often have “Free and for Sale” or “Exchange” Facebook groups where you can buy and sell items from your classmates. This is a super convenient way to sell all kinds of things because you can easily meet up with your buyer on campus and you’re typically not limited to what you can sell.

But what if you college doesn’t have “Free and for Sale” group? No worries — you can always post on a common interest group (think clubs and organizations) or even your class group (for example, “Vanderbilt Class of 2015”).

Many collegiettes recommend selling on Facebook pages, including Georgia College junior Emily Ward. “[On Georgia College’s page] people post pictures and usually have really great luck,” Emily says. “You can buy anything from a rug to Lilly Pulitzer shorts to a taxidermy animal!”

This is an especially great option if you’re selling concert tickets, textbooks or anything else you know your peers will love.

8. Instagram

If you don’t want to limit your customer base to just university students, you might want to try selling on Instagram. Post a picture and description of what you’d like to sell on your Instagram account and collect payments via PayPal. You can find more detailed instructions here.

If you use Instagram to sell items, be cautious. Make sure that you secure your payment before shipping your items, and don’t agree to meet anyone outside of a public space.

Social media, shopping apps and consignment stores have made it easier than ever to make some fast cash off of your used items. The options listed above are just a few of the many fantastic ways you can sell your things, so don’t settle for craigslist and eBay just because they get the most hype!

What could be better than getting rid of the clutter and making money doing it? Dust off that old sweater (or iPod, or textbook) and start selling! And, hey, odds are you’ll find a bargain purchase or two along the way.

If midterms are taking a toll on your skin, stress no more. Between now and finals, we have a skincare product that just might cure all—coconut water! Brazil’s high-demand supermodel, Adriana Lima, swears by it and maybe you will too.

Many collegiettes love to drink coconut water for its health benefits, but you probably haven't heard that it can also work as a topical skin care treatment. Lima, known for her drop-dead gorgeous skin, uses the stuff when her skin needs a little extra TLC. "If you have a tough day and want to treat yourself, you can soak your skin with cotton pads and ice-cold coconut water," she says.

Hey—if it works for Adriana Lima, you don't have to tell us twice to start dousing our faces in coconut water!

10 Exercise Routines You Can Do In 10 Minutes or Less

$

Working out is hard, especially with a packed schedule and virtually no free time. While running around from classes to work, extracurriculars and more should count as working out, it doesn’t. Fitting in even a quick gym session isn’t always possible, and it’s hard enough to wake up early for classes. Don’t worry, though – we’ve found the perfect workouts to squeeze in any time! All of these can be done from your apartment or dorm room, involve little to no equipment and max out at ten minutes. No more excuses!

1. Victoria's Secret Model Workout

Ten minutes to look like a Victoria’s Secret Model? We can definitely make time for that.  This routine is fast, easy and works out your entire body. Plus you don’t need any equipment and can be done in small spaces. The workout consists of eight easy exercises that Heidi Klum's personal trainer walks you through. She gives you a step-by-step guide on how to do each move, as well as counts down your reps, so there's no guessing involved. Grab your roommate and try it out!

2. 10 Minute HIIT Workout

HIIT (a.k.a high-intensity interval training) workouts are ideal for anyone with a busy a schedule because they burn a lot of calories in a short amount of time. Who doesn’t want that? Like the name suggests, this workout is pretty intense, so it's probably not for beginners. It also involves a lot of jumping around, so if you have any injuries or bad knees, it's probably best to avoid this one. But if you're up for a challenge, there's no equipment necessary for this one, so there’s nothing stopping you from hitting play and sweating it up!

3. Butt Lift Challenge

In just ten minutes, your butt is going to look amazing in all of your jeans! We’re big fans of Cassey from Blogilates because all of her workouts are designed with the busy girl in mind. There are six easy moves that anyone of just about any fitness level can do. Cassey also gives you tips on how to make each more easier or more difficult depending on how much you want to challenge yourself. Plus you don’t need any equipment and do all of the moves on the floor of a dorm room!

4. Sexy Arms Workout

Another fitness gem from Blogilates is this arm workout! If you’ve got the time, combine it with the butt lift challenge or another body part that’s giving you trouble. All you need is a yoga mat or towel, rug or blanket (if you need to get creative). Like most of Blogilates's videos, this one consists only just a few moves and a lot of repetition. Again, Cassey gives you tips on how to make each move easier or more challenging depending on your fitness level.

5. "Call Me Maybe" Squat Challenge

We all love to hate (or hate to love?) this song by Carly Rae Jepsen. However, it turns out that it’s a great tune to squat to. Your legs will be screaming by the end and the song will totally be stuck in your head, but it’s only five minutes. You can do it!

6. Movie Night Total Body Workout

If you love to multitask, this one is for you. Grab a friend, bowl of (low-cal!) popcorn and give this quick workout a try before your movie starts. This is also an awesome routine to do during commercial breaks of your favorite show. (Just when you thought episodes of Scandal couldn’t get anymore intense!) The workout consists of a sequence of pilates-inspired moves that target your whole body. All of the moves are easy for beginners, yet challenging enough that you'll still feel it in the morning.

7. Sleek and Slender Abs Routine

If anyone knows how to get fit fast, it’s definitely the Tone It Up girls! Karena and Katrina show you how to get the abs of a beach goddess in just under seven minutes. Even if you don’t have access to an Instagram-worthy California beach like they do, give their workouts a shot. The moves are all relatively easy, but some do require a pair of weights. No weights? No problem! Grab something around your room of equal weight, like a pair of soup cans or textbooks!

8. 10 Minute Cardio Dance Routine

When it comes to this video, you can definitely put us down for cardio. This routine works up a sweat fast! Thankfully you don’t have to log hours on the elliptical machine to get in a good cardio workout anymore. Plus, this routine is full of fun dance moves, so you won’t even notice you’re working out. All of the moves are pretty easy, but don't feel bad if you can't quite get the hang of it right away. The point is to always keep moving, so even if you're not nailing every move perfectly, just getting your heart rate up is what matters the most.

9. Slim Legs Workout

We’re moving away from shorts season, but that doesn’t mean you can skip leg day. If squatting isn’t really your style, try this quick Pilates routine. It’s only three minutes, so there are really no excuses with this one. You can even make it a circuit, and do it three times to get closer to your ten minutes. This workout is extra perfect because it consists of only one move! Cassey shows you how to do it and does it with you the whole time, so there's no guessing if you're doing it right or not.

10. Bikini Body Workout

We’re always down for a full body workout that’s only eight minutes long. Even if you’re not going to be wearing a bikini anytime soon, it’s still a quick and easy routine that will tone you up from head to toe. The workout involves about five moves that designed to tone multiple areas of your body at once. The moves aren't hard, but you'll definitely be sore in the morning. No equipment is required, so just press play!

See, that wasn’t so bad, was it? The truth is, we always have time for a quick workout. You just have to learn how to prioritize!. Save a few of these under a YouTube playlist and your body will thank you later.

Iyaz is Making a Comeback

You may not have heard Iyaz's name since "Replay" in 2010, but his new single "Alive" is one you won't want to miss. The song features Nash from Hot Chelle Rae and is pretty catchy, if you ask us. Watch the video below:

"I spent the last few years or so laying low, writing new music, and collaborating with really great musicians,"Iyaz told Billboard. "I made sure I had a live element and raw vocals on the songs, which were not as present in my previous releases." And the work he put into this single really shows—the song, which is equal parts pop, reggae and R&B, has us wishing it were summer again (and is totally our new jam).

What do you think, collegiettes?

10 Reasons You Need a Cat Person in Your Life

$

0

Now that it’s Halloween-time, you might be hearing some superstitions about black cats. Skout, the app that lets you expand your social circle and meet new people, conducted a survey among its users and found some surprising facts about black cats and the people that love them. We’ve parsed through the data and have come to a single conclusion: you need a cat person in your life—and here’s why.

1. Cat people are actually lucky.

Skout found that 46 percent of people who have owned a black cat have won a contest or the lottery. Keep that person around and maybe they’ll share in their riches!

2. Cat people appreciate the simple things in life.

Like sleeping, eating and taking baths. Sounds like an ideal evening to us.

3. Cat people are in excellent health.

We’re serious. Eighty-eight percent of people who have owned a black cat say their health is good, very good or excellent.

4. Black cat owners have nine lives too!

Sixty-four percent of people who have owned a black cat have had a near death experience and lived to tell about it, vs. 54 percent of people who have never owned a black cat.

5. Cat lovers don’t discriminate.

Some jerks think black cats are bad luck—but overwhelmingly, people who love cats don’t care about the color of their fur. Seventy-six percent of cat owners have once had a black cat, according to Skout. And 75 percent of cat owners would consider adopting a black cat!

6. If you’re a cat person, you’re in good company.

Want to be friends with Taylor Swift? Yeah, us too. Become a cat person.

7. Cat people are some of the most loving people around.

8. The Internet loves cat people.

9. Cat people have more friends than non-cat people.

Skout found that 71 percent of cat owners have four or more friends, compared to only 66 percent of people who don’t have cats. This completely explains why Taylor Swift’s squad is so big.

10. The real question is, how can you NOT be a cat person?

I mean, COME ON.

So this Halloween, if you hear someone spout ignorant nonsense about black cats, you can show them the FACTS. Cat people are the best people around, and owning a black cat has serious benefits—like luck, good health and more friends! What more could you ask for? Looking to add a cat person to your squad? Be sure to check out Skout, the app that allows you to expand your social circle!

School District Faces Legal Trouble for Barring Transgender Student From Locker Room

Township High School District 211 is receiving heat for its decision to prohibit the use of the women’s locker room by a female transgender student. Despite the threat of lawsuits and loss of funding, the school continues to say that they will only offer transgender students separate-but-equal facilities.

In a statement sent to the community this week, Cates wrote, “After serious and lengthy consideration, the District will continue to provide private accommodations for transgender students to ensure a respectful school environment, and will not allow unrestricted access to its locker rooms as directed by OCR. Likely litigation and enforcement action, including the potential loss of federal education funds, may be imposed by the OCR.”

This response comes after an investigation from the U.S. Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights found the school in violation of the Title IX gender equality law. A female transgender student asked the school to treat her as female, especially when it came to sports and public facilities. While she was allowed to play on girls’ sports teams, she was barred from using the girls’ locker room, and had to use her own bathroom down a hallway. A district spokesman told the Chicago Tribune that transgender students can use the locker room of the sex from which they transitioned—Though that doesn't seem like an option a transgender student would want to take.

An official with the American Civil Liberties Union called the district’s ruling “blatant discrimination, no matter how the district tries to couch it.”

Though Halloween may be the one night a year that we can get away with simply accessorizing lingerie with animal ears, former Victoria's Secret model and Queen of Halloween Heidi Klum is known to go the extra mile with her elaborate getups.  From scary and spooky to straight-up kooky, here are Heidi Klum’s eight craziest Halloween costumes.

1. Lady Godiva, 2001

Klum arrived at her 2001 party on horseback in a floor-length wig as the famousy nude Lady Godiva.

2. Witch, 2004

Klum’s creative take on the classic witch costume involved an all-red ensemble and a skeleton on piggyback.

3. Vampire, 2005

In a light-up corset, custom-made fangs and a cobweb cape, Klum killed it as a vampire at her sixth annual Halloween bash.

4. Forbidden Fruit, 2006

Refusing to let pregnancy stop her from going all out at her 2006 Halloween bash, Klum hid her baby bump in her Garden of Eden forbidden fruit getup.

5. Hindu Goddess, 2008

Klum’s most controversial costume was when she dressed up as the Hindu Goddess Kali.  Her portrayal of the benevolent deity with vampire fangs and a bloody skirt upset Hindu leaders.

6. Crow, 2009

Feathered and fabulous, Klum attended her 10th annual Halloween event in an elaborate crow costume.

7. Alien Transformer, 2010

At eight feet tall, Klum towered over her guests at her 2010 Halloween Party at Lavo in NYC.

8. "Visible Woman," 2011

Klum's anatomy-inspired ensemble involved a body suit painted with muscles, veins and tendons, and was completed with an entrance on a stretcher at the Tao Nightclub in Vegas.

9. Old Lady, 2013

Even while wearing a gray wig, serious prosthetic spider veins and some mega-detailed wrinkles, Klum still looks amazing in this crazy-elaborate getup.

10. Butterfly, 2014

Klum will be holding her 15th annual Halloween event this year, and we're sure the Halloween Queen will blow us away yet again!

What do you think Heidi Klum will dress up as this year?

24-year-old Democrat Lindy Li is taking an interesting path in her post-grad career—She's running for Congress in Pennsylvania's 7th District. If Li wins, she won't only be the youngest person ever elected to Congress, but also the only female member of Congress from Pennsylvania. Li would also be the only person under the age of 30 in the House of Representatives, since Congress's current youngest member, Elise Stefanik, is now 31.

The Washington Post reported that Li told her father, "The seat is mine." With her attitude, Li is bound for success.

One of Li's main goals is to make education more affordable. "Everyone deserves acces to education," she told the Washington Post. "I came [to America] with nothing but my hopes and dreams."

Although people seem to be focused on Li's appearance, she wants them to shift their concern to her ideas, which revolve a lot around making college more affordable. Li is also concerned with campaign finance reform and gun control.

"I think it's kind of wonderful how I've slipped into this new role of meeting people and hearing their concerns," Li told the Huffington Post.

With her ambition, Li is sure to do big things.

Selena Gomez recently shot down rumors that she was romantically linked with Cara Delevingne, who is openly bisexual. But she certainly wasn't mad about the rumors.

In fact, she says she didn't mind them one bit.

"Honestly, I loved it," Selena told PrideSource.com. "I didn't mind it. Especially because they weren't talking about other people in my life for once, which was wonderful."

She then went on to reveal that in the past she has questioned her sexuality many times, and revealed that it's a normal part of growing up.

“Oh, I think everybody does, no matter who they are,” she elaborated. “I do, yeah, of course. Absolutely. I think it's healthy to gain a perspective on who you are deep down, question yourself and challenge yourself; it's important to do that.”

With the promotion of her third studio album Revival, which came out on October 9, we've been seeing a lot of her lately and, given how great of a role model she is to all women, that's a great thing. She recently revealed, very honestly, how public body-shaming affected her. She has also shared information about her illness with lupus, showing that she doesn't let anything slow her down.

The Government Says It's Time to End LGBTQ Conversion Therapy

Believe it or not, in 2015 the practice of LGBTQ conversion therapy—“efforts to change an individual’s sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression”—still exists. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has just published a comprehensive report titled “Ending Conversion Therapy: Supporting and Affirming LGBTQ Youth,” which explains the major problems with conversion therapy and encourages legislative action to ban the practice once and for all.

“Conversion therapy perpetuates outdated views of gender roles and identities as well as the negative stereotype that being a sexual or gender minority or identifying as LGBTQ is an abnormal aspect of human development,” the report says. “Most importantly, it may put young people at risk of serious harm.” Currently, only four states—California, New Jersey, Oregon, and Illinois—and Washington, D.C. have banned conversion therapy.

The research is based on three major ideas. First, sexual orientation and gender identities are not abnormal, nor are they indicative of illness or mental disorder. Second, the report delegitimizes conversion therapy as a practice—meaning it just doesn’t work. And lastly, not only does it not work, but causes serious damage to the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ youth.

The report does stress that therapy and mental health services are very important for members of the LGBTQ community—but in a very different way. Youth should be provided with resources to help them better understand that their identities are valid, and to offer a support system. The goal of therapy should be to foster well-being regardless of sexual orientation of gender identity. LGBTQ individuals experience mental health issues at a much higher rate than other demographics, which in many cases is caused by the trauma of conversion therapy.

The study also urges us to continue to take action against discrimination towards the LGBTQ community and continue to push for legislative action against conversion therapy. While it’s encouraging that comprehensive studies are being done that prove different sexual orientations and gender identities are valid, at the same time it almost seems a bit behind on the times. That people are still attempting to change people’s sexual identity through therapy even seems barbaric—isn’t this a conversation that should have happened a long time ago?

15 Thoughts You Have While Third Wheeling

We have all been there: you're planning on having a great night with one of your best friends. Then, she decides to let her significant other tag along. You don't want to tell her not to bring her S.O., but you also don't want to be the third wheel. But hey, it couldn't be that bad, right? Here are 15 thoughts we've all had while third wheeling.

    1. Oh, this isn’t that bad. We’re all friends. This will be great!

    2. They’re just holding hands—perfectly acceptable. Like, a little PDA is okay, right?

    3. They’re kissing now… not cool.

    4. Phew, they stopped. Good. I was worried for a bit.

    5. This is pretty fun. I can definitely hang out with them! Let’s just watch something on TV…

    6. But watching ANYTHING on TV sucks. Because they're cuddling on the couch, and here I am sitting alone.

    7. Maybe if I just stop focusing on it, it won’t be as annoying.

    8. Nope, nope, it’s still annoying. Definitely annoying.

    9. She always acts so different around her S.O.

    10.  I really wish someone else was here to make this beyond awkward triangle into a square.

    11. I should keep track of how many times they forget I am LITERALLY right here.

    12. It’s like they don’t even know I came with them!

    13. Oh come on, kissing again?! Get a room!

    14. No, no, no. Wait, don’t actually get a room. I’d rather be third wheeling than here by myself.

    15. On second thought… Yeah, I should've come out alone.

Whether you're from Canada or India, Australia or Peru, your international student status comes with its own set of problems (and a bunch of cool things, too!). These are just some of the things that are all too real if you're balling on that F-1 visa.

    1. You're always jet-lagged at the start of term.

    2. People constantly interrupt you to ask you if you have an accent.

    Stating the obvious, much?

    3. You have to explain why you came to America, like, three times a week.

    "I'm digging for gold."

    4. According to, well, everyone you meet, you have "great English."

Whether or not English is your first language, there's a reason you got into an English-speaking school.

    5. You placed out of the language requirement at your school.

    Being bilingual is THE BEST.

    6.  You've never shopped at Limited Too.

    7. Or watched Bill Nye the Science Guy.

You've missed out on SO much!

    8. You visit the international center at your school more than you go to the gym.

    9. You have to go through just about 800 formalities if you want a job or internship.

    10. You rarely see your family.

    11. But they totally spoil you when they visit.

    12. You have to find a kind soul to adopt you for Thanksgiving.

Your friends' families are so welcoming!

    13. You never celebrated Thanksgiving before college.

You could definitely get used to it, though.

    14. You get ridiculously excited about free refills in restaurants.

    ...and pumpkin spice everything...

...and frat parties that actually look like the movies.

    15. America is your second home.

    'Murica.

See below to find out just how she turned Tiffany into a replica of herself.

Kylie starts by brushing out and penciling in Tiffany's brows to emphasize their fabulousness! Afterward, she applies a primer to the lid.

    Step Two: She applies eyeshadow

Kylie starts by applying a dark color to the edges. She works her way out, using the edge of the tape as her guide to create the perfect cat eye. She then highlights the area underneath the brow with a light shade.

Step Three: Kylie begins to contour

Contouring is a must if you're going to be a Kardashian! "To start the contour, you start the line at the top of the ear," Kylie tells her viewers. Continue to blend and highlight underneath the eye with some powder for a gorgeous look!

Step Four: Add mascara and blush

The look is just about complete.

Step Five: Kylie applies lip gloss

Finally, Kylie adds lipgloss from her new Kylie Lip Kit. And voila! The look is complete.

How to Enjoy Pumpkin Spice From Morning to Night

This article has been syndicated to Her Campus from The Surznick Common Room by Sarah Wissinger, a Her Campus Blogger Network member. Read the full post here.

This isn't the first pumpkin spice recipe you've seen and I'm sure it won't be the last. Pumpkin spice anything has gotten so popular that's it's even jokeworthy at this point. But there's a reason that we're all obsessed with this fall staple... it's delicious.

Like many people, I'm a big fan of Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte. I don't typically buy coffee, but once the PSL hits shops it's hard to say no. That all changed when I learned about what's really in a Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, and while I was not surprised to learn that it's full of artificial flavors, preservatives, caramel color and the like, I was surprised to learn that even a PSL ordered with soy milk is not dairy-free. (P.S. There's no pumpkin in it either.)

So I decided it was time to make a homemade version of the pumpkin spice latte and figured, hey while we're at it, why don't we make a pumpkin spice cocktail too? Pumpkin Spice White Russian, anyone?!

First we're going to need to make our base for both drinks: pumpkin spice syrup! If you've ever tried mixing cinnamon or spices into a drink, you know that they usually just float on the top and make your drink gritty. Making a syrup will give you the flavors of the spices without the grit! This syrup can be kept in your fridge for a few weeks, so anytime you want to whip up a drink, it'll be a breeze!

    Pumpkin Spice Syrup

    Here's what you need!

    • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup pumpkin purée
    • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    • 1/2 tsp. groung ginger
    • 1/2 tsp. allspice
    • 1 cup water

NOTE: Cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice are basically what makes up pumpkin pie spice. If you have pumpkin pie spice on hand, feel free to use 1 tbsp. of that instead!

    Here's what you do!

    • Combine all ingredients in a medium pot.
    • Simmer over medium heat, stirring until all sugar has dissolved (about 10 minutes or so).
    • Turn off heat and let cool. Strain into a sealable jar and store in refrigerator. (We used a fine mesh strainer from Nick's brewing supplies to strain the syrup, but cheesecloth would work as well.)

22 'ANTM' Moments That Shaped Who We Are Today

We grew up watching America’s Next Top Model. Over the course of 22 cycles, the show taught us how to smize, tooch, strut and own our fierceness. Thanks to Tyra, we’ve become strong, confident women who can totally hold our own and model on command, if need be. We never thought we’d see a day when ANTM wasn’t on our TV screens, but the current cycle will be its last. So we’re looking back on 22 moments that shaped who we are today.

    1. You wanna be on top?

Um, yes. Tyra taught us that coming in second place just wouldn’t do. Nothing but the top for us.

    2. Elyse explains the modeling industry

    THIS ^

    3. When that one girl fainted

We know it was a balance disorder or whatever, but as Tyra told Rebecca, sit down if you feel woozy.

    4. The show crowns a plus size winner

First and last, sadly. But Whitney proved that any woman can be a show-stopping model, no matter her shape or size.

    5. When this girl repeated what contestants on this show have been saying for years

Sometimes you have to look out for yourself, especially in a competition that’s this intense. (But remember, it pays to be nice.)

    6. Guys can be models, too?

We were super skeptical when Tyra announced that guys would be joining the show. But it turns out, men can actually be models, too. Hmm. This really gives us a lot to think about.

    7. Danielle trips in the most outrageously high heels known to man

Yes, Danielle fell and was then forced to crawl her way to safety as the judges looked on. But then she won, so maybe that makes up for it? Lesson: never wear 10-inch heels. Oh wait…we already knew that.

    8. When that one girl left because fashion didn’t interest her AT ALL

Remember Kimberly from Cycle 10? Probably not. But she quit the competition because she discovered that she had no interest in being a model. So make sure you choose your career path wisely. Like, ideally you should enjoy what you’ll be doing for the rest of your life.

    9. Phil attempts to hug, fails miserably

Not everybody wants a free hug.

    10. Tyra schools Brittani on what it actually means to be a role model

With Cycle 16’s eventual winner Brittani and obligatory bad girl Alexandria feuding in front a client, Tyra made it her mission to teach these ladies the utmost ideals of professionalism. We haven’t argued in public since.

    11. When Joanie had her snaggletooth removed

Leave it to Tyra to remove Joanie’s signature snaggletooth. If it were us, we would’ve liked to keep the one thing that made us unique and quirky. The modeling world would just have to deal.

    12. Every time anybody got a makeover

ANTM makeovers can go one of two ways—positively transformative or terribly, terribly wrong. But regardless of the results, at some point a basic is gonna throw down. Didn’t makeovers used to be fun? Not in Tyra’s world.

    13. When that one girl refused to cut an inch of her hair and then went and married Stephen Amell

Mr. Jay was all up on his high horse when Cassandra left Cycle 5 because she didn’t want to cut one more inch of her hair. Now she’s married to Arrow star Stephen Amell. Worked out for Cassandra, huh?

    14. When this girl refused to pose nude

In Cycle 1, Tyra’s nude photo shoot idea was novel to the contestants. That’s why Robin said no to posing in the buff. Which led to one of our favorite quotes from the series’ run: “My grandmother always said, ‘If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.’” It’s a line we live by.

    15. Isis becomes the show’s first transgender contestant

Before the trans movement really made its way to television, Cycle 11’s Isis competed on ANTM. If there’s one thing this show has always been, it’s revolutionary.

    16. All. That. Jade.

Jade is still considered the biggest villain to ever grace this show. Though she denies the b*tch label she received following her appearance, Jade is proof that sometimes snap judgments stick, whether they’re accurate or not.

    17. When Shandi hooked up with that European model…

…even though she had a boyfriend waiting at home. The worst part? Her awkward admission to said boyfriend was filmed and shown shortly after the incident. You heard it here first. Don’t cheat on your bae, ever—but especially not while on reality TV, ladies.

    18. Janice Dickinson shuts down this tattletale

Never cross legendary supermodel Janice Dickinson. When she tricked Cycle 6 contestant Gina into ratting on Jade for her bullying ways, Janice turned it back around on Gina. A bit harsh? Yep. But it’s so Janice, right?

    19. When someone stole Bre’s granola bar

Living with other people is something you have to adjust to. Bre from Cycle 5 taught us everything we ever needed to know about roommate life. Because Nicole supposedly stole Bre’s granola bar, and that’s when it hit the fan. Don’t steal your roommates’ food. Just don’t.

    20. When Miss J was removed from the judges’ panel

Runway coach and diva extraordinaire Miss J is THE reason we still watch this show. So when he was fired after Cycle 18, we were destroyed. It’s never too late for a comeback, though, as he returned at the start of Cycle 21. And all was right with ANTM again.

    21. SMIZE

We will be forever grateful to Tyra for introducing us to the art of the smize.

    22. We were rooting for you, Tiffany!

The be-all and end-all moment of Top Model history.

There will never be another one like you, ANTM. #RIP
