Oh, Corinne, you have done it again.

In tonight's episode of "The Bachelor", our favorite lady to hate, Corinne, got v honest about her lady parts. To be precise, she said that her "vagine is platinum." But like, same? After this comment and attempting to sneak into Nick's room for some ~cozy~ time, Twitter is having a field day discussing Corinne. And with good reason. Here are the best tweets that sum up our reaction to Corinne being Corinne.

7 Things That Make Guys Swipe Right Immediately

$
0
0

The quest to find prince charming on a dating app, namely Tinder, has proven to be a daunting task. College-aged guys on Tinder range from the serial right-swipers to the guys so analytical about the types of pictures and bio you post. If you haven’t given up hope of finding a connection on Tinder, we asked seven college guys what makes them automatically swipe right on a girl. Their answers may (or may not) surprise you.

1. A clever bio

It’s hard to determine how much or how little information we want to reveal about ourselves on Tinder. However, for guys who claim that they are looking for more than just a hookup, they like to know who you are beyond a face.

Michael Grayhand, a junior at Georgia Southern University, wants to know the basics about the girls he swipes right for – age and/or school, favorite quote or witty statement and their passions.

“While I don’t expect a girl to lay out her whole life story, I want to know something about her to see if there is something we connect over right off the bat,” he says. “So please don’t leave it blank! Or be basic and say ‘I love kittens.’ And? So does everyone else.”

So if you’re comfortable, let the dating pool know what makes you unique.

2. Being passionate about something

Attraction is a big part of what initially draws someone to you, but according to guys, seeing a woman who is driven makes her ten times more appealing.

Parker Lanza, a sophomore at the University of Georgia, met his current girlfriend on Tinder and was immediately drawn to her passion for dancing.

“My girlfriend is a professional salsa dancer, and I remember seeing pictures of her dancing on her Tinder,” he says. “Not only did she look beautiful dancing, it was so attractive that she was showing off her working hard.”

So whether it be a sport, your job or volunteering that you’re passionate about, a worthy guy will take interest in what makes you tick.

3. Seeing you alone in pictures

It’s safe to conclude that guys don’t want to have to think too hard about swiping. They want to get a definite feel of what you look like easily, which is why they will left swipe on a girl with too many group pictures.

According to Rashad King, a senior at Kentucky State University, even if you are potentially the girl of a guy’s dreams, guys won’t think twice about swiping left if they can’t tell which girl you are in the picture.

“I don’t want to have to investigate who the girl is in the picture,” he says. “One group picture is cool, but I’m looking to hang out with you, not your four best friends. So why are they included?”

P.S. Guys could definitely benefit from this tip too!

4. Having a variety of pictures

The hardest part of creating a Tinder profile is picking what pictures to post. Guys want to see you in a variety of different settings.

Chris Colfer, a sophomore at Kennesaw State University, likes to see potential Tinder matches in many lights – dressed up, chilling out and maybe a selfie or two thrown in.

“It’s weird to me if a girl only has selfies in her bathroom,” he says. “So if you’ve traveled abroad or are always at this certain coffee shop, it’s cool to see.”

So even if your best pictures are from your birthday, don’t post all of them at once.

5. Sports gear

As typical as it may seem, guys like when a girl is into sports (surprise, surprise.) Xavi LaCosta, a sophomore at the University of Central Florida, gives brownie points to any woman supporting a sports team.

“Even if you’re just representing your school, seeing a lady in a jersey does something to my heart,” he says.

However, if you aren’t into sports, don’t go out and buy a jersey just for a guy. It’s not worth it!

From guys strictly NOT looking for relationships…

6. Pictures of you partying

Some women refrain from posting pictures of us partying in fear of looking “trashy,” but some guys on Tinder actually want to see that. Gio Ramos, a junior at Kennesaw State University, likes seeing girls at bars, fraternity houses and generally having a good time.

“If I see a girl that likes to go out, I’ll swipe right,” he says. “Maybe that turns some guys off, but I’m looking for someone to go out and have a good time with me.”

So if you’re looking for a drinking buddy, don’t worry about having to tone down how you look on Tinder. There's no shame in going out and having a good time, so if you're the type of girl that likes to live it up, don't be ashamed.

7. Full body pictures

This screams degrading, but guys admitted to swiping right on girls with full body pictures, and those who show off their body.

Austin*, a junior at the University of Georgia, views Tinder as strictly a hookup app. “If a girl is cute, has a nice body of course I’m going to swipe right,” he says.

Let’s not pretend we’re surprised, though.

While keeping these suggestions in mind, remember to just be you. Never pretend to be someone you aren’t to impress a guy. Tinder is an experience full of lows and highs, so happy swiping!

As we continue to reflect on years past in the new era of 2016, we often think of one of the greatest franchises known to man, woman and Muggle: the Harry Potter series. We loved the books, the movies and everything before, in between and especially after, so with the casting of a black Hermione in the new play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and the recent arrival of the HP spinoff, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," the excitement and obsession keeps rebuilding after we thought we had to bury it in 2011 when Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released. Well, even though we have reason to always harbor an HP obsession, looking back on the era of the last films, here are the signs we needed to know that our over-the-border obsessions with HP reached gold status.

1. Watching at least one movie from the series each night was a ritual

2. Not dressing up for Halloween was not an option

3. You could give Hermione a run for her money in spell knowledge

4. The books served as your comedy, romance, mystery and drama novels all in one

5. Every one of your creative projects in school was HP related

6. You knew which scenes in the book didn’t make it into the film

7. A paper on the allegories of the HP world to the real world was easier than any one for school

8. You have been to Universal Studios in Florida to visit Diagon Alley at least 5 times

9. You instinctively know when a HP marathon is premiering on Freeform (R.I.P ABC Family)

10. Your YouTube History is filled with clips from “Harry Potter Puppet Pals”

11. Your family and friends expect you to make at least one HP reference a day

12. You have watched every HP cast interview online

13. And you know most of the answers

14. You have gotten in vigorous arguments with people over whether Hermione belonged with Harry or Ron

15. You are an expert at playing Quidditch—the Muggle Version

16. Your room was decorated like a room inside the Weasleys' Burrow

17. You desperately tried to find the recipe of a butterbeer

18. Your ringtone is Hedwig’s Theme

19. Twilight is to you what Voldemort is to Harry

20. You know the name of every British person that has ever been a part of the HP cast

21. July 31st is obviously one of your favorite days!

Which sign applies to you? Tell us in the comments!

Rachel Lindsay Is Officially the Next Bachelorette

Can you say "FINALLY"? This announcement may be coming a bit earlier than we're used to, but it's waaaayyyyy overdue. On tonight's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, current contestant on Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor, Rachel Lindsay, was revealed as the next Bachelorette.

Even though sources leaked that Rachel would be named the Bachelorette tonight, I've been burned far too many times before by these announcements. I had to see it for myself before I could truly believe.

During a (standing) interview, Rachel explained that she was approached about being the Bachelorette shortly after getting cast off from Nick's season but thought producers were just trying to make her feel better following the heartbreak. (Side note: She already seems ~so~ relatable and real. Killing it!)

Rachel will be the first black lead in the Bachelor franchise's 33-season history. The show has long come under fire for its lack of diversity. Yesterday, executive producer Mike Fleiss seemed to confirm the rumblings in his tweets teasing the "historic announcement."

When tonight's episode of The Bachelor ended, Rachel's relationship with Nick was flourishing after another romantic one-on-one. We might not know yet how their story ends, but I'm ready to skip ahead to May 22 (yep, we have a premiere date, too!) and see what's next for Rachel.

Beyoncé is queen, there is no doubt about it. With her voice, her style, and her beauty, no one can argue that she is not amazing in all possible ways. If you need evidence for some weird reason, just look at her performance from this year's Grammy Awards.

I mean, come on, she's flawless. If you are like me and are wondering how you can replicate that perfection for your own, then you are in luck.

When speaking with Cosmopolitan, Bey's makeup artist, Sir John, revealed all of the products that he used on her skin and tbh, we are a bit surprised how affordable they are! In fact, Cosmo reports that everything that went into Beyoncé's makeup look for her performance can be bought at your local drugstore. Yup, that's correct. Even us normal people can ~shine~ like a diamond.

According to TMZ, at least "15 people filed complaints within the past 2 weeks with the Better Business Bureau", claiming that they smelled "chemicals and glue" upon opening Kylie's Royal Peach Eyeshadow Palette. Oh boy.

But apparently, the Better Business Bureau already launched an investigation into the issue and said that it is the packaging, according to Seventeen. Kylie Cosmetics has not yet commented on the issue but hopefully, they will make a change, especially because it was a few weeks ago when the smells started

How to Grow in Your Career Without Going Crazy

$

0

There’s no denying it: post-graduate life can get a little crazy. Although our four(ish) years of college offered us some semblance of routine and cohesion—the joys of class being cancelled and the stress of midterms affected all of us, no matter our major—graduation sent us all in different directions. While some of us are going into the sciences, others pursuing careers in business or the arts. Some of us might not be going into the workforce at all, but returning to school to earn a Master’s degree or PhD. But whether you’re an aspiring astrophysicist or a middle school P.E. teacher, there’s one thing on all our minds: work-life balance. Though it might seem difficult at first, growing in your career and maintaining a personal life is totally possible. Here’s how you do it.

Decide what “having it all” means to you

The first step to achieving your goals is to define them. If you’ve had your entire life planned out since you were a pre-teen, that’s great. This part is going to be easy for you. If you don’t know exactly what you want to do with your life, don’t stress about it! The trick is to start with the big picture and work backwards. First, think about what kind of job you want to have or which field you want to work in. Then, consider what’s important to you. Do you want a job that will allow you to travel a lot, or do you want to stay close to home and eventually raise a family? Is having the opportunity to be outdoors and get exercise a priority for you, or are you okay with spending the majority of your day in front of a computer screen? Once you have an idea for what kind of life you ultimately want to have, work backwards. Find out what resources or experience you’ll need to reach your goals and pursue them.

Don’t compare your career aspirations to those of your peers—set your own goals

Teddy Roosevelt was on to something when he claimed that comparison is the thief of joy. Most of the time, comparing yourself to others will lead to disappointment and feelings of inadequacy, not because you truly are disappointing or inadequate, but simply because your goals are different from your friends' goals. Cal Poly SLO graduate Jillian Zdepski knows this well. “After I graduated and started working, I realized I didn’t have the exact same priorities as all of my friends, and that was okay," says Jillian. "What’s right for me isn’t necessarily right for them, and vice versa." Even if your friends end up working at the same company or have the same job title as you, you’re still going to have different priorities and values. The best thing you can do for yourself is set your own goals and let those dictate what you should be doing.

Consider which jobs and companies will allow you to have the level of work-life balance you want

For better or for worse, not all jobs were created equally. While some jobs will require you to follow a typical 9-5 schedule, other jobs offer more variability and flexibility. For example, many consulting jobs will give you opportunities to travel but will likely be more time consuming, while teaching positions or jobs with a professional sports team are often seasonal. Additionally, some jobs offer flexible or remote hours. Knowing which kind of job and company is right for you can get confusing pretty quickly. Luckily, websites like Glassdoor can be helpful for researching different companies and learning about jobs you might want to apply for. They’re going to provide you with intel you wouldn’t otherwise get unless you know somebody who works at your target company or has your dream job. Be smart about using these review-based websites, though! It’s like reading comments on a site that allows students to rate professors; there’s often there’s an element of truth to what the reviewers are saying, but you’ll still have to take everything with a grain of salt.

Keep tabs on your finances

It doesn’t matter if you’re making six-figures right out of college or if you feel like you’re barely getting by on your monthly paycheck: save your money. It might sound ominous if you’re a personal finance newbie, but there are a lot of ways to be financially responsible. Budget your monthly expenses, invest in low-risk securities (or risky securities, if you’re into that sort of thing), and at the very least, try to be cognizant of what you’re spending your money on. Money definitely isn’t everything, but it’s definitely something everyone should consider, no matter what your particular goals and values might be.

Work toward your long-term goals, but don’t sacrifice your short-term well-being

Whether you’re in your ideal career situation or you feel like you can’t stand to stay at your job another day, you should always remember to keep your short-term well-being in mind. The bottom line is that if you’re not mentally and physically happy, or at least healthy, you’re not going to be an effective employee, friend or family member. This isn’t to say that you should quit your job when the going gets tough. On the contrary: don’t be afraid to take on extra projects when you can, and give everything you’ve got to earn your next promotion. It’s important to understand that feeling tired isn’t necessarily the same thing as being unwell, but the second you think like you’re really faltering, take a moment to re-evaluate where you are in life and consider if what you’re doing is really what’s right for you.

All that being said, know your limits. Nobody has unlimited time and energy, and you truly can’t spend one-hundred percent of your time in the office and one-hundred percent of your time at home. Instead of stressing out about it, follow our advice and plan for your future, taking into consideration how much of a work-life balance you want to have. After all, if you’re well prepared, you may even be more successful than those who focus solely on their career or just on their social lives.

Trump's National Security Adviser Has Resigned For Not Telling the Whole Truth About His Talks With Russia

White House national security adviser Michael Flynn resigned from his post Monday evening, just seven hours after top aide Kellyanne Conway told MSNBC that Flynn had President Trump’s "full confidence." Having served only 24 days in office, he’s broken the record for shortest-lived national security adviser, The Washington Post reports.

Flynn came under fire concerning a potentially illegal conversation he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey I. Kislyak before the inauguration. Flynn allegedly told the Russian ambassador in a phone call that Trump would reconsider Obama's sanctions on the country once he was in office—but at the time of these conversations, Flynn wasn't yet a government employee, and private citizens aren't allowed to negotiate with foreign governments. Earlier in the month, Flynn falsely claimed that he had not had any contact with the ambassador, and the administration defended him. But internally, The New York Times reports, the Justice Department warned the White House that “[they] feared [he] could be vulnerable to blackmail by Moscow” because he hadn't told the truth about these conversations.

It's clear that the Trump administration takes a certain amount of pride in breaking the status quo. But they're probably not so excited about breaking the record for the least amount of time served by a national security adviser since 1956, and maybe setting a new record for most tumultuous exit from that post at the same time.

Retired Lt. Gen. Joseph K. Kellogg, Jr. is currently serving as the interim adviser until Trump can find a replacement for Flynn. While his name is on the shortlist for replacing Flynn permanently, the Times reports that he probably won't keep the position.

With near-constant upheaval becoming standard operating procedure for the Trump administration, it’s hard not to wonder what the next groundbreaking upset will be.

We all have hobbies, but not many people decide to turn their eyelids into their canvas. Stefania initially took up this pastime to ramp up her makeup routine. “I was really bored of the same smokey eyes, and don't get me wrong, I love a good smokey eye, but I really wanted to attempt something that was more ‘artsy,’ different, and more intricate, to practice my skills,” the young MUA told Her Campus.

Crazily enough, she hasn't been using makeup for that long. “I fell in love with makeup around a year ago when I started practicing eyeshadow; it made me feel really pretty and I really enjoyed doing it," Stefania said. "When I had practiced for a bit, I started my Instagram in order to display my hobby!”

After posting her amazing peacock work and imitating Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” on her eyelids, she got a lot media attention—ot just with thousands of likes per post but with shoutouts from outlets likeCosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, Allure and POPSUGAR. NBD!

“When I started this, I really did not expect to get any attention," Stefania added. "At most, I thought my friends would tell me I did a good job! When it got a few hundred likes on twitter I was really pleased, but when I woke up the next day and it had 2,000 likes, I was amazed and so excited! It was crazy to see all the nice comments from some of my favourite makeup artists as well!”

Stefania's love for makeup has only grown since she took up her craft: “I just want to share the art and show that makeup really is an art.”

Unfortunately, you won’t see a stunning young lady with peacock eye makeup out on the street any time soon. When asked if she rocks her out-there looks on the town, Stefania responded, “Normally when I complete these artworks it's at night or in the evening, so I never really get the opportunity to wear it out. However, I don't think I would, as I'm sure I'd get some strange looks and called extra if I did go out with such extreme makeup!” We'd cheer you on, girl.

So what's next for Stefania? She is hoping for some awesome makeup collabs in the future—and frankly so are we: “Hopefully I'll be able to work more closely with some of my favourite brands this year, [but] you never know what awaits!”

Look out, beauty junkies, you might be seeing a lot more of the amazing Stefania Atupe this year! You better keep an eye open for collabs.

5 Reasons Why I'm Done Caring About Nick & Corinne's Relationship

$

Last night, things got gut-wrenchingly real on The Bachelor. Ahead of next week’s hometown dates, Nick sent home Danielle M. and Kristina, two of the more genuine girls this season. He used the same excuse we’ve been hearing for weeks—that his relationships with the other women are just stronger. Excuse me, but I refuse to believe that what Nick has with Corinne is “strong.”

Up until now, I’ve found Corinne’s antics to be enjoyable fun, a way to pass time until Nick started forming meaningful connections with the other women. But after this week, I am just done.

1. There’s NO WAY Nick is serious about her

Nick knows the value of an entertaining villain, and that’s why he’s keeping her around.

2. They haven’t had a single meaningful conversation

Corinne spends most of her time talking to the camera. I can’t imagine she has any breath left to actually have a worthwhile conversation with Nick.

3. She’s the only girl left who hasn’t had a one-on-one

This is a sign. Nick would rather have multiple one-on-ones with Vanessa, Rachel and Danielle M. than spend a second alone with Corinne.

4. He’s not even interested in her sex abilities

We know you’re not above hooking up with someone before fantasy suites, Nick. So why not let Corinne wow you with her sex abilities?

5. Women who are more deserving are being sent home so that Corinne can stay

I honestly don’t think Nick has any interest in a relationship with Corinne. He might not have felt a lasting spark with Kristina or Danielle M., but he at least could have tried to build something with them. Because we all know that’s never going to happen with Corinne.

I want to spend a hometown date with Raquel just as much as you do, but that doesn’t mean I have to care about where Nick and Corinne stand.

If you thought you and your SO were crushing Valentine’s Day, let Michelle Obama show you how it’s done.

The former FLOTUS decided to give us all a gift this morning, and sent out her first tweet since leaving the White House last month. A photo of sand-covered feet accompanied Michelle's heartfelt message to her husband: “Happy Valentine’s Day to the love of my life and favorite island mate, @BarackObama.”

I'm not crying, you're crying.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Obamas have been having the time of their lives on vacation in the Caribbean since their exit from the White House. They’re kitesurfing. Hanging with Richard Branson. Relaxing on aprivate island.

But in all seriousness, these two deserve it. They gave eight years of their lives to the hardest job in the world. Take all the time you need, Obamas. We’ll be waiting impatiently for you lovebirds to return back home.

Burger King is Offering Adult-Only Meals With Sex Toys for Valentine's Day...But Only in Israel

While you probably have fond memories of the kid's meals you used to get at Burger King when you were younger, you've never seen a fast food meal like this before. At BK's Israeli locations, the company is celebrating Valentine's Day with "Adult Meals" for those over 18, Cosmopolitan reports. Instead of a kid's toy inside the box, opening your meal will reveal a sex toy for you and your partner to use this Valentine's Day.

The meal, meant for couples, comes with two Whoppers, two packs of French Fries and two beers (the drinking age is 18 in Israel). The options for the toy seem to be an eye mask, a feather duster or a massager, so you can get your Fifty Shades Darker reenactment on after dinner. This special offer is only available today after 6 p.m.—apparently that's when after-dark hours start at Burger King.

A spokesperson for ad agency Leo Burnett Israel ensured Mashable that yes, this is really happening.

AdWeek notes that Burger King has been testing out special meals for adults in other locations, like the King Senior in Brazil. The King Senior came with two Whoppers, one for a senior citizen and a free one for the person with them. Not quite the same as the Valentine's Day box, which really takes it to another level.

The White House Posted Error-Filled Versions of Executive Orders On Its Website

$

Coinciding with a controversial Tuesday morning for President Trump’s administration, a USA Today investigation discovered that the White House changed Trump’s divisive executive orders before posting them online. This means that the executive orders that the American people initially see may be different from the official versions.

Many of these inaccuracies are small grammatical changes, slight differences in wording and restructuring of certain paragraphs. However, even tiny amendments such as these raise questions about how thoroughly the White House reviews its executive orders before signing them into law.

Beyond the many, smaller instances of changed typos, USA Today also found two cases where the website version of the orders referred to “inaccurate or non-existent provisions” of the Federal Register executive orders.

One of these cases appeared in the extremely divisive travel ban executive order. The official order required an in-person interview for everyone seeking a non-immigrant visa. However, the White House version required both a physical and mental examination. It's no wonder why there was so much confusion following Trump’s immigration ban, with federal officials scrambling to figure out how to implement it lawfully. Properly checking an order—before it is signed into law—should be a no-brainer for the administration.

The other case of a clear inaccuracy was in an executive order on ethical standards for administration appointees. The version posted on the White House website refers to “Section 207 of title 28,” which does not exist. As ProPublica reported, the official version of the order cites the correct section and title. The White House did not respond to USA Today’s review of the documents.

So far, Donald Trump has signed into place 12 executive orders. As soon as he sits to sign the documents, they become legally binding documents. The official version is then sent to the Federal Register, which documents the order as the official, legal language.

However, it usually takes several days before the Federal Register version is released to the public. Before then, the public (and many law enforcement agencies) may rely upon the version that the White House posts online. By containing inaccurate language, the executive orders could be misleading the American public, or confuse the agencies attempting to carry them out. Even worse, the fact that the orders may have been corrected after they are signed is troubling. This would signify that the administration does not properly vet, edit and correct orders that are signed into law.

"These last-minute edits suggest the Trump White House needs to revisit their vetting, sign-off, and publication processes for executive orders," John Wonderlich, executive director of the Sunlight Foundation, told USA Today. Although it isn’t clear whether these were outdated or updated versions of current executive orders, it’s a problem that the White House is putting out different versions.

10 Ways You’re Sabotaging Yourself & How to Stop

This article has been syndicated to Her Campus from Eyeliner Wings & Pretty Things, an InfluenceHer Collective member. Read the full post here.

As always, a new year brings in a ton of self-reflection and resolutions, which inspired me to write this post. I was thinking about a lot of things I hope to change in the new year (which is a load of crap because you can just change whenever a new year is not necessary) and I thought, why not make it into a post? A lot of the things I’d like to improve on turned out to be things that are, in a way, sabotaging myself and my own happiness.

So, once again, here I am giving advice that I should also be taking. I need to stop giving good advice that I won’t take…definitely counting that as an unofficial number eleven on this list. Hopefully, if these are also ways you’re sabotaging yourself, you’ll make these changes with me.

1. Taking things too personally

I’m the queen of this, or maybe the duchess because duchess is a little bit less extreme. When someone doesn’t text me back right away, I automatically assume the other person is dead or hates me or both. I do this instead of rationally acknowledging that people aren’t always on their phones, contrary to the belief of most baby boomers.

Bluntly, taking things too personally can be a bit narcissistic. Thinking you cause everything or things are caused to target you specifically is almost a way of thinking all things and people revolve around you. Did that make sense or am I getting fake deep? Anyway.

Fix it: Acknowledge that the world does not revolve around you and not everyone and everything is out to get you. Haven’t you ever accidentally hurt someone? Whenever you feel yourself getting into a funk of taking something personally or blaming yourself, remember that other people are living their lives like you are and there are so many other factors contributing to every bad mood, weird text, and misspoken word.

2. Not being more mindful of how you’re spending your time

I pride myself in having great time management skills but in reality, I just finish tasks quickly and do random, meaningless things with all of the extra time I created for myself by being efficient. This is a shitty use of time and ought to be stopped.

Just think of all of the times you’ve woken up at 10 AM and haven’t gotten out of bed until 11:30. Think of the time you’ve spent scrolling through Instagram while waiting for your friend to meet you for coffee. Think of all of the books you could’ve read and tasks you could have accomplished in all of that time!

Fix it: Try the Pomodoro method when completing tasks. It involves timing yourself and allocating certain amounts of time to tasks. Don’t plan every second of your day, but do have some control over your more lax ways of spending downtime. For example, if you want to relax by watching YouTube videos but know you have homework, try limiting yourself to only two videos before working instead of endlessly running through your “Watch Later” playlist.

Somebody Won This Domino's Pizza Engagement Ring Last Night

You may love pizza, but do you love it enough that you'd want to be proposed to with a 22-karat gold ring shaped like a pizza slice? That's the question Domino's UK asked on Monday, when they posted a giveaway of a pizza-shaped, diamond-encrusted engagement ring on their Facebook page. Unfortunately for us, the giveaway ended at 10 p.m. Monday night—but maybe we can use this as inspiration for our own custom engagement rings sometime far, far in the future?

Delish reports that Domino's plans to make 475,000 pizzas for Valentine's Day this year, and The Sun says almost three-fourths of couples are planning to stay in tonight to celebrate the holiday. Apparently 6 percent of men say they're planning to propose today over food, so this Domino's ring would go perfectly with a large pizza.

Valentine's Day can get WAY overly sappy and saccharine, so thank god we have brands to add a little levity to this holiday.

I'm Single AF & I LOVE Valentine's Day

I’m single af, and I love Valentine’s Day. What’s not to love? A day full of flowers, chocolates, rom-coms and a variety of love puns sounds like a spectacular day, even if all these things are not coming from an SO. My passion for the love holiday has not always been positive, though.

Growing up, there was no issue with Valentine’s Day. We all made those iconic tissue box-mailboxes to receive valentines from our classmates in. My mom used to gift my sister and I gift cards and candy. Back when we were too young to be in relationships, Valentine’s Day was an easy holiday to like. But in high school I turned cynical, not for any reason other than that I felt I was supposed to, which is the sad part. I didn’t hate Valentine’s Day itself; I hated what I thought it represented—an exclusive holiday that could only be celebrated by those in relationships. What I didn’t realize back then is that I am in a serious and loving relationship with my life, and that is worth celebrating.

With the number of singles having risen 12 percent between 2004 and 2014, as TODAY reports, I think Valentine’s Day is undergoing something of a transformation from a strictly romantic holiday to a celebration of all kinds of love–platonic, romantic, self-love, or otherwise. In a survey conducted by Elite Daily, 37 percent of women said they celebrate all kinds of loving relationships on Valentine’s Day, not just romantic ones.

I was curious about how other girls feel toward V-Day, so I asked some collegiettes if they think it needs to be exclusively about romance. Mariel Tishma, a junior at Columbia College Chicago, says, “The thing we celebrate now doesn’t have to be about romantic love. Also, the original St. Valentine was patron saint of the plague, among other things. So really we should be celebrating not having the plague.”

Personally, I’ve never been happier to be single on Valentine’s Day than this year. I just started dating for the first time ever at the end of last year, and I thought maybe this would be the year that I finally had a romantic someone to celebrate the holiday with. The truth is it didn’t work out between us, and so I’m still single. But you know what, dating that guy made me realize how much I love myself, my life and my freedom (aka my singledom). So this year I am unabashedly celebrating Valentine’s Day alone. It took the potential of a date to make me realize that what I really want on Valentine’s Day is to see my friends, call my parents, and watch ANTM reruns on Hulu while stuffing my face with all the candy. All. The. Candy.

But more than all the discount candy, I love Valentine’s Day because it’s a day that makes me feel so grateful for everyone and everything in my life. Sure, I can feel this way on any day of the year, but today it’s more special because instead of showing love to a significant other, I get to focus on all of the beautiful, romantic elements of my life.

Romance, I believe, is not something that is only experienced within the confines of a relationship. The word "romance" actually dates back to 1300 and was used to refer to the story of hero, according to the Online Etymology Dictionary. When I consider romance on these terms, it makes the adventure that is life sound romantic. And I think it is. Life as a single person can be romantic in its own way.

That’s truly what I love about Valentine’s Day: that it is more profound than it appears. On the surface, Valentine’s Day is a commercial holiday designed to make people feel obligated to buy cards and candy and teddy bears and flowers for their loved ones. At the heart of it, though, Valentine’s Day presents us with a beautiful opportunity to focus on all of the amazing things we have going on in our lives.

Above all, today I abide by Walt Waltman’s words: “I celebrate myself.”

Designer Christian Siriano's NYFW Show Highlights the Beauty of Diversity

The idea of diversity within the fashion industry is often something talked about in a negative light, especially as many designers tend to stick to one look when casting–tall, thin and white. This year, however, designer Christian Siriano made huge strides towards incorporating a more diverse and inclusive set of models in his latest New York Fashion Week show, which is a mission he began in his ready-to-wear show last year. His show featured 53 looks in total, ten of which were worn by plus-sized models (this is almost unheard of, by the way) and almost half of his models were non-white, according to Allure. His casting is a direct reflection of his diverse customer base, and successfully shows that fashion and beauty have no limitations, regardless of shape, size or race.Beyond simply booking a more diverse set of models, one of Siriano's pieces featured a design created by his husband, Brad Walsh, which read "People Are People." All of the proceeds from the sales of this shirt will be donated to the ACLU to promote fair treatment of minorities across the globe.

If more designers followed this Project Runway alum's example, the fashion industry could actually achieve more diversity and inclusivity—which is something I'm sure we'd all love to see.

Milo Yiannopoulos Just Pushed Back His Book to Write About the Campus Protests Against Him

Milo Yiannopoulos, far-right Breitbart journalist and Trump supporter, announced Tuesday that his up-and-coming book release date will be pushed back from March 14 to June 13. That means both his haters (of which there are many) and his fans will just have to wait to read the 32-year-old’s extremely controversial memoir: Dangerous.

Yiannopoulos decided to ask his publisher for an extra three months for Dangerous in order to write about the impassioned protests that sprouted up at campuses he was set to speak at through the past few weeks.

The Breitbart Tech editor was supposed to speak at the University of California Berkeley in early February. However, the UC Police Department shut down the event before it could start following a violent protest by about 150 masked “agitators” who interrupted a peaceful protest to attack UC Berkeley’s Student Union building.

“I am speaking on college campuses because education ... is really what matters. It's a crucible where these bad ideas are formed. Bad ideas like ... progressive social justice, feminists, Black Lives Matter ... that I think is so cancerous and toxic to free expression,” Yiannopoulos said to CNN at the time.

Several weeks before that, a similar protest happened at Yiannopoulos’ event at the University of California Davis. On the night of Trump’s inauguration, a man was shot outside of the far-right speaker’s event at the University of Washington Seattle.

Yiannopoulos, who is British and openly gay, was also banned on Twitter for inciting a harassment/hate speech campaign against SNL’s Leslie Jones.

“I asked my publisher, Threshold Editions, for more time to submit the manuscript for DANGEROUS so I could include material about the craziness and rioting at UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UW Seattle,” Yiannopoulos wrote in a Facebook post. “It would be absurd for me to publish a book without some discussion of the insanity of the last few weeks.”

Yiannopoulos reportedly received $250,000 for his “memoir” deal with Simon & Schuster’s conservative Threshold Editions publisher. “I met with top execs at Simon & Schuster earlier in the year and spent half an hour trying to shock them with lewd jokes and outrageous opinions,” Yiannopoulos said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I thought they were going to have me escorted from the building — but instead they offered me a wheelbarrow full of money.”

By taking on Yiannopoulos as an author, Simon & Schuster lost many others in protest, including feminist author Roxane Gay. This prompted Simon and Schuster’s president, Carolyn Reidy, to send out a letter to authors.

“First and foremost, I want to make clear that we do not support or condone, nor will be publish, hate speech,” Reidy wrote. “When Threshold Editions met with Mr. Yiannopoulos, he said that he was interested in writing a book that would be a substantive examination of the issues of political correctness and free speech.”

President Trump is Finally Going to Hire More People For His Social Media Team

President Donald Trump has a talent for throwing the entire country into a frenzy with a single tweet. Whether you enjoy his tweets or are horrified by them, we can probably all agree that POTUS could stand to impose a little more discipline on his social media process. According to CNN, Trump is reportedly planning to hire new staff members for his social media team this week, who will assist in planning and executing Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts.

Believe it or not, the team behind our president's infamous and ill-timed posts is made up of none other than himself and his former golf caddy, Dan Scavino. Scavino worked his way up from golf caddy to general manager of one of Trump's golf courses, according to CNN. If you're wondering how a career in golf course management qualified Scavino to run a sitting president's social media accounts, well, so are we.

CNN reports that Trump verbally dictates to Scavino what he would like posted, and Scavino posts, even in the middle of the night. According to The New York Times, Scavino takes a much humbler tone when he writes tweets himself, but he doesn't get to do that often. This is in sharp contrast to President Barack Obama’s digital media team, which consisted of 20 employees, led by former Twitter executive Jason Goldman.

Now, a few weeks into his presidency, Trump is probably realizing he needs a little help, especially since he now has three Twitter accounts to maintain—his personal account, @realDonaldTrump, the President of the United States account, @POTUS, and the official White House twitter, @WhiteHouse. Just last week, Trump stirred up controversy when he tweeted his disgust for Nordstrom department stores dropping his daughter Ivanka's product line. He tweeted that from his personal account, but the tweet was later retweeted by the @POTUS account, raising questions about the proper and professional use of an account that is used solely for government and national business matters.

No word on what qualifications President Donald Trump is seeking for his new social media team, but it is very clear that President Trump needs professional guidance and assistance, and quick.
