We're only three days into the new year, and America is already divided on another hot button issue: shark or dolphin. On last night's premiere of The Bachelor, contestant Alexis, an aspiring dolphin trainer, arrived in a shark costume but insisted throughout the evening that she was actually a dolphin.

Of course, viewers had plenty to say about this. Below are eight people who are way too invested in this ongoing debate.

I remember when Gwen Stefani first became famous as the lead singer of No Doubt. For a year, I wanted nothing more than to be a performer with awesome clothes, hair and makeup, plowing through life as "just a girl" with a powerful song on my lips. But even before that, Gwen was dazzling people with their beauty as a mall makeup artist. She has always inspired us to see what we could be no matter what role she has performed. After all her successes, including her role as a judge on The Voice and her makeup collab with Urban Decay, Gwen has been chosen as the new face of Revlon.

Gwen's official title will be "Revlon global brand ambassador," which means we can expect her to star in some gorgeous ads, and share some of her best makeup tips. We'll be waiting!

Mariah Carey's Team Is Still Claiming Her New Year's Eve Performance Was Sabotaged

If you spent your New Year's Eve watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest (or saw the plethora of memes, videos and tweets online immediately following the show), then you know that Mariah Carey's highly anticipated performance didn't go nearly as well as she hoped it would. Prior to the ball drop, Mariah took to the Times Square stage to sing three of her hits. Things took a massive turn for the worse when she experienced technical difficulties and basically gave up after a few seconds of trying to recover.

This is just a snippet of the cringe-worthy performance:

Throughout the performance, Mariah just couldn't get it together. She appeared to be having sound issues, and at one point she pointed her microphone to the audience, encouraging them to sing instead. Needless to say, her botched performance led to a ton of memes and savage tweets, like this one:

Following the disaster, Mariah tried to brush the whole thing off.

Though Mariah didn't say much, her manager, Stella Bulochnikov, has plenty of thoughts—and she's claiming that Mimi's NYE performance was sabotaged. Speaking to Rolling Stone, Stella said that the Dick Clark production team was notified that Mariah's in-ears weren't working properly during rehearsal (and minutes before the actual performance)—but they assured her that everything would be fine once the televised performance began.

"We told [the stage managers] that the in-ears were not working 10 minutes before the performance," Stella said. "They then changed the battery pack, and they were still not working on the frequency four minutes before the show. We let them know again, and they just kept counting her down and reassuring her that they will work as soon as they go live, which never happened."

The performance led plenty of people to point fingers at the production team, suggesting that they purposely allowed technical difficulties to occur. Even Mariah's rep went along with the conspiracy theories. In a lengthy conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Stella further elaborated on what went wrong with Mariah's performance and who she thinks should be blamed.

According to Bulochnikov, the problems persisted for the remainder of the night. When the time came for Mariah to perform on stage, she still couldn't hear anything—and it didn't help that she was in front of a loud crowd filled with two million people. As the performance continued on TV, Stella felt that the production should have immediately cut to commercial to prevent any further embarrassment. Clearly, they chose to keep the live feed airing for millions of viewers around the world.

"But even when it didn’t work [when live], when she pulled her ears out, they should have cut to commercial. That says to me they wanted a viral moment at any expense," Stella said. "And that’s not a company with integrity for 50-something years. That’s not who Dick Clark was. He loved artists."

The fact that the team hasn't owned up to their error is what appears to infuriate Bulochnikov most of all. "But to not apologize to her formally? That’s disgusting. We live in this viral world where anybody will do anything for a viral moment."

This Guy Told a Woman to Stop Applying Makeup on the Train & The Response Was Perfect

It's 2017, but apparently being "ladylike" is still something we should be aspiring to, according to mansplainers everywhere. This week, a woman in the UK was apparently a little late to getting up and out for the morning and decided to finish up her makeup on the train, only to be scolded by the man next to her for doing her makeup in public. What happened next gives us a little hope.

Apparently, the man's comment was loud enough for several other women to hear, so they all promptly pulled out various makeup items and started touching up in a show of solidarity.

I guess no matter how far we come, there will always be someone trying to tell you what to do. But you don't have to let those people have the last word.

Life lesson: you never have to accept shaming and it's even more fun to protest it. Solidarity, sisters!

Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth's NYE Kiss Looks Like Something Out of a Rom-Com

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth continue to prove that their love is going strong. Not too long ago, they were serving up major relationship goals when they spent Christmas together and posted the most adorable photos from their festivities. Most recently, Miley and Liam showed that they know how to go all out for New Year's Eve, with an epic party filled with glitter, gold and plenty of smooches.

Thankfully, Miley shared lots of photos from the night—including this cute one of herself and her mom, Tish. Based on Miley's shimmery eyeshadow and rhinestone stickers, I think she went to the NYE bash ready to party. Something tells me that Tish also enjoys a good shindig.

Happy new yearzzzzz from me and my mama!!!! @tishcyrus

Miley also posted a photo of Tish with some of Liam's relatives (who will become her in-laws once the couple ties the knot).

This Extended 'Fifty Shades Darker' Trailer is Actually Kind Of Scary

As if watching the season premiere of Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor last night wasn't enough, viewers got a sneak peek of the latest trailer for Fifty Shades Darker, and it was insanely interesting to say the least.

If you haven't read the Fifty Shades book series, you probably didn't really know what to expect from the sequel, except for lots and lots of intense sex scenes. However, after watching the extended trailer, it's safe to say this movie will include a lot more scary twists than what we saw in Christian Grey's red room in the first movie.

Along with showing Grey practically begging for Anastasia Steele to go to dinner with him, a v sexy elevator scene and an even sexier rendezvouz in the shower, we saw flashes of a disheveled girl stalking the duo. The scariest part of the trailer, though? Watching her point a gun at Anastasia and say, "Tell me what you have that I don't."

We aren't quite sure who this woman is or what she's capable of, but we definitely can't wait to see the film, which will be released on Feb. 10, to have all of our questions answered.

Megyn Kelly is Leaving Fox News For NBC

Megyn Kelly, a superstar host of Fox News who was prominently attacked by Donald Trump over the course of this election season, will leave the network for a position at NBC News, according to The New York Times.

The Times reports that Kelly was interested in the NBC role because it’ll give her a chance to do more in-depth and hard news work. She’ll anchor a daytime show, as well as a Sunday night news show, and will be part of events and breaking news coverage as well, she wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

"Over a dozen years ago I started at Fox News in a job that would change my life," Kelly wrote on Facebook. "Now, I have decided to end my time at FNC, incredibly enriched for the experiences I've had."

Kelly has been an important face on Fox News for years, but her star grew even bigger this year when she was attacked by Donald Trump. As a moderator of the first Republican presidential debate in August 2015, Kelly asked Trump about his many denigrating comments toward women. "You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals," she said.

Trump was not happy about being put in the spotlight for his sexism, and later tweeted about Kelly’s performance. On CNN, he said, "There was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever." Of course, people took that to mean he was saying she was on her period. Not cool, Donald. (He said he meant her nose, but...that makes no sense.)

Kelly also played a part in the ouster of Fox News CEO Roger Ailes. She was one of several women who accused him of sexually harassing them.

Her role as a young, powerful woman on a channel of mostly out-of-touch white men has made Kelly a kind of viral icon for women (though she doesn’t like the word feminism). But as cool as it is that she stood up to Trump and Ailes, Kelly is usually pretty on-message with the rest of Fox News. She’s insisted on air that Santa and Jesus were both white, and called a 14-year-old black girl who was slammed to the ground by police at a pool party "no saint either."

“Megyn is an exceptional journalist and news anchor, who has had an extraordinary career,” Andrew Lack, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, said in a statement. “She’s demonstrated tremendous skill and poise, and we’re lucky to have her.”

Billie Lourd's First Statement Since Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds' Deaths Has Us in Tears

With the sudden passing of her beloved mother, Carrie Fisher, and grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, it's no surprise that Scream Queens star Billie Lourd has been quiet on social media as she tries to deal with these enormous losses. However, she broke her silence with an Instagram post yesterday and had us all in tears with her sweet message.

Lourd captioned the photo, "Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist. There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my one and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me."

Fisher and Reynolds had an immense impact through the roles they played in films, as well as off the screen. Lourd's mother was passionate about erasing the stigma behind mental illness and inspired so many people to accept themselves for who they are. As for her grandmother, she was a movie legend who was incredibly loved.

Amidst a devastating turn of events for Lourd and her family, we can only hope she can manage to stay strong following the passing of her "Abadaba" and "Momby."

This New Smartphone Technology Could Save Your Skin

Remember watching The Jetsons and other futuristic shows when you were a kid? At that age I was far too impressed with the flying cars and robot dogs to know how helpful all of the time-saving technology could be. Now that I have a laundry list of chores to do every day, I often wish that I too could have my food made, house cleaned and all of my problems solved with the push of a button.

One problem that I would do anything to solve? My skin. No matter what I do, for the past twenty years I haven’t been able to figure out exactly what's going on with it. One day it's dry and flaky, and the next day, I have a giant zit in the middle of my face that could only be covered up with a paper bag. Well, all of my (and your!) problems may be easier to solve than we previously believed, with the help of Samsung’s new beauty technology.

The technology uses a combination of cameras, LEDs and nanotechnology to spot skin issues that may be so hidden you didn’t even know you had them. The brand is releasing two new products, the first being the Lumini, which has the ability to detect “pimples, freckles and increased pores, wrinkles, redness and sebum.” Once it detects these issues, it sends photos of your skin to your smartphone, where it also recommends products or dermatologists that you can talk to over the app to aid you with your problems.

The second is the S-Skin, which is described as a “a personalized IoT solution” that measures skin hydration, redness and melanin. It also delivers LED light to the surface of your skin, which is supposed to improve its health, as well as deliver anti-wrinkle and firming treatments.

We’re only three days into 2017, but with products like these, it feels like we are already lightyears away. Welcome to the future!

Kim Kardashian Shares Heartwarming Home Videos of Kanye, North & Saint

Just when we thought this fam couldn’t get any sweeter, Kim Kardashian shares a beautiful compilation of home videos showcasing some of the highlights of her 2016 with Kanye, North and Saint. Even after her Paris robbery, Kanye’s hospital trip and rumors of divorce, you can’t deny the love that Kimye has for their adorable children.

The two-and-a-half-minute video features the song "Paradise" by Jeremih, which could not be more accurate after getting this glimpse into their lives. The video shows moments such as Kim and Kanye sharing dinner, North following in her mother’s footsteps (totally not fair that a three-year-old has better clothes than we do) and Saint taking some literal baby steps.

No matter what the Kardashian/West family goes through, they always have these special moments that can never be taken away from them.

Kylie Jenner Got A Tiny Tattoo in Honor of Tyga

It is undeniable that Kylie Jenner and Tyga’s relationship has been a hot topic in recent months. But clearly no gesture is too small for Kylie to show off her long-lasting love for her man.

Kylie is known for her tiny tattoos, so the little beauty she got in honor of Tyga is really nothing new. It was actually featured on her Instagram about a month ago. The only issue with going tiny is that it is easy to miss. (You definitely cannot say the same about their relationship, though.) We recommend checking the bottom right corner of Kylie's pics from now on to spot the tiny "t."

Despite the rumors of their relationship being on-again/off-again, this little tribute shows that Kylie and Tyga have a true connection…at least in Kylie’s eyes.

Kim Kardashian Removed 'West' from Her Social Media Handles, Then Added it Back

In the weeks following her robbery in Paris, Kim Kardashian stayed out of the spotlight as a safety precaution. This also meant a break from all of her social media accounts (which cost her plenty of money). After some time, Kim slowly resurfaced in public and online.

Now, Kim has us all so confused after removing "West" from her social media handles—then adding the last name back shortly after.

If you were quick enough, then you probably noticed that Kim dropped the "West" part of her name on both Instagram and Twitter earlier today. This had fans confused AF, wondering if there was trouble in paradise for Kimye (especially since divorce rumors have been swirling around lately). Shortly after making the adjustment on her social accounts, Kim changed her name back to Kim Kardashian West.

So, what does this all mean for Kimye? That remains unclear—but Kim DID post a photo on Instagram for the first time in months today, and it speaks volumes.

Does this mean that everything is just fine in the Kardashian-West clan? Or is Kim choosing to put her family above everything else? Why did she temporarily change her name on her social media accounts? The questions just never end.

Beyoncé Will Be Headlining Coachella This Year

2017 is already off to a great start! The lineup for this year's Coachella was just announced, and all chill has been lost because it's absolutely amazing. Members of the Beyhive will be particularly excited, because Beyoncé will be headlining the highly-anticipated music festival this year.

Coachella will take place for two consecutive weekends in April, beginning on Friday, April 14, with Kendrick Lamar wrapping up the day. On the festival's second night, Queen B will take the stage, and we'll all be shook by her performance (obviously). Radiohead will also be headlining Coachella, with performers like Travis Scott, Mac Miller, Capital Cities, Future, DJ Snake, Bastille, Lorde and DJ Khaled further adding to the LIT lineup.

If you're lucky enough to score tickets to the coveted music festival, which go on sale Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 11:00 a.m. PST, I'm officially jealous—and will probably live vicariously through the tons of photos and videos that are guaranteed to be all over my social media feeds.

Amanda Stanton Confirms Her Split from 'Bachelor in Paradise' Costar Josh Murray

It's a sad day for Bachelor Nation. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, former Bachelor in Paradise star Amanda Stanton announced that she and fiancé Josh Murray have officially split.

We're a little surprised with this breakup since the two of them seemed very happy with each other since the show ended. If you follow them on social media, you know that Josh moved across the country to live with Amanda and her two daughters.

Amanda states in the interview that the couple did break up a few weeks ago before the holidays and that it has been very hard because she didn't know what to say to the public. She goes on to say that relationships do have problems, but at the end of the day, the problems she and Josh had just couldn't be fixed.

"I just think there are some things in a relationship you can work on, you know, nobody is perfect," Amanda tells ET. "There’s also things that you just can't work on and things that you just know aren’t going to work out in the long run... It’s hard, you know, he moved across the country to live with us and I think, at the end of the day, we’re just very different people and things just didn’t work out."

Amanda explains that the breakup happened at a convenient time since they were surrounded by her family for the holidays, making the transition easier on her two daughters, who were super close with Josh.

Even though Amanda isn't revealing personal details about the split at this time, we all wonder if this breakup could be similar to what happened with Andi and Josh back in 2015. Either way, we just hope that the two of them will move on and be happy with the decision.

Watch the official announcement below.

Blake Lively Had the Cutest 'Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants' Reunion on New Year's Eve

Alexis Bledel got her Gilmore Girls reunion in 2016 with the series' Netflix revival. But it seems her Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants costars already started off 2017 with a reunion of their own

Blake Lively posted a photo on Instagram of her and Amber Tamblyn FaceTiming with America Ferrera—AKA Bridget and Tibby FaceTimed with Carmen. It's totally adorable and makes me believe that these four are actual off-screen besties.

Blake even captioned her post with a quote from the movie: "Love your pals. Love yourself." Oh, Sisterhood series, I love you, I'll never stop.

This also fuels the rumors that Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 is coming. Us Weekly reports that Blake is down to reprise her role, and America already revealed that a script is in the works. Alexis hinted that she's producing it. I'm hoping this NYE photo means it's really happening, more than 10 years after the first film bowed. Most recently, in November, Alexis told Jimmy Fallon, "We would all love to do it, I think it would be so much fun. We're working on it, so we'll see if it happens."

And don't worry, even though she missed the mini reunion, Alexis is still in their squad. In July, the whole gang got together. Blake's finger ended up in America's nose, and Blake captioned the photo #SisterHusbands. Basically, they're jokesters. We're bummed Alexis wasn't there for this NYE reunion, but we can only hope she was otherwise engaged, filming ANOTHER Gilmore Girls revival. Fingers crossed.

Whitney Bischoff Threw A Little Shade at Ex Chris Soules During the 'Bachelor' Premiere

During the season 21 premiere of The Bachelor on Monday night, series alum Whitney Bischoff threw some major shade at ex-fiancé Chris Soules' appearance on the show. Since Chris and Whitney split only two months after their season ended, she was confused as to why Chris was giving Nick relationship advice, alongside other former Bachelors Sean Lowe and Ben Higgins.

Whitney tweeted, "Why is Chris giving advice?" This raised some major discussion throughout Bachelor Nation.

Shortly after her first tweet, she followed up with, "Simmer y'all. It's no secret only a few succeed. I'd want advice from a bach who made it-it ain't easy! No salt. No shade. All facts."

Whitney revealed just a few months ago that she and new boyfriend Ricky Angel are happily engaged. Everything works out in the end, and we couldn't be happier for her and her new beau!

House Republicans Are Actually Not Going to Gut the Office of Congressional Ethics

$

On Monday evening in a secret vote, Republicans in the House of Representatives voted 119-74 to change the place of the independent Office of Congressional Ethics to be under oversight of the House Ethics Committee. This was unsurprisingly seen as members of Congress trying to take significant power away from the office that's supposed to investigate them—not a great look. Within 24 hours, the House had reversed the measure.

The Office was formed in 2008 in response to charges of corruption in Congress, and some people even ended up being sent to prison. According to Fox News and the Associated Press, House Republicans wanted to change things around so that members of congress would decide if accusations against their colleagues would be referred to law enforcement. This doesn't seem like the most ethical plan, as you're a lot less likely to say someone should be charged with corruption if they're someone you know well and work with.

The initial vote was seen by many as a grim vision of how Washington will act in the new administration. But President-Elect Trump himself criticized the move, saying it wasn't good prioritization on the part of Congress (notice he's not mad because of what they did, just the order they did it in):

Tuesday afternoon, in the wake of the intense backlash received for the proposal, the House decided to reverse the action. The New York Times called it an "embarrassing turnabout on the first day of business for the new Congress," but at least they didn't go through with destroying a necessary piece of government.

'The Bachelor' Will Feature the Show's First Openly LGBTQ Contestant This Season

Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor is turning out to be full of firsts. Not only is Nick a woke bae and a four-time Bachelor star, but his season also welcomed the first Bachelor contestant who talked openly about being in a relationship with someone of the same sex.

In a teaser shown at the end of the premiere, contestant Jaimi talks about revealing to Nick that she'd been in a previous relationship with a woman. It's a big first for the show to have an openly LGBTQ contestant, and we couldn't be happier and prouder that The Bachelor is becoming open to different kinds of relationships. It's important to note that Jaimi didn't label herself as bisexual, but we're hoping she opens up more about her past in coming episodes.

What's more, Nick seems totally okay with Jaimi's sexuality. "Nick was really receptive to my past relationship with my ex-girlfriend," Jaimi says. "It felt good to kind of set the stage for the rest of my time here."

YAS, Jaimi, we can't wait! It's so crucial that reality TV shows accurately portray love—and encourage LGBTQ fans to audition for the show themselves. I'm looking forward to seeing how the franchise depicts topics of sexuality and acceptance; hopefully Jaimi is only one of many in the LGBTQ community to star on our fave show in the future.

Emma Stone Wants Her Real Name Back

Can you imagine entering a world where someone else could steal your name from you if they were there first? Well that is exactly what happens in Hollywood.

La La Land star Emma Stone revealed to W Magazine that Hollywood stole her name. A roughly sixteen-year-old Emma was forced to change her name when she began her acting career. Her real name, Emily Stone, was the name of another actress at the time.

She first changed her name to Riley Stone. Emma explained to W, "I landed a guest spot on Malcolm in the Middle, and one day they were calling, ‘Riley! Riley! Riley! We need you on set, Riley!’ and I had no idea who they were talking to." It was in that moment Emma realized she could never be called something so different from her given name.

From there, Riley became Emma. Even though the uber-famous actress wishes she could change her name back to Emily, we'd probably all still be calling her Emma. We have to say, we like Ms. Stone just the way she is.
