I Based All My Decisions for a Week on What Lorelai Gilmore Would Do

$

I never understood how much Lorelai Gilmore actually ate during the seven seasons the show ran until I gained three pounds in one week.

As an experiment, I based all my decision-making on what she would do for one week, and thanks to that, my black workout pants are too tight now. I actually thought that her eating habits were something to admire and something I wanted to try at some point of my life, but I never had the courage to actually do it. Sure, I love pizza and ice cream, but I never embraced the eat-junk-food-every-day lifestyle that Lorelai lived by.

Over the summer (and before this experiment), my life was very much unlike Lorelai. I woke up every day before 9 a.m. to go to the gym, I ate really healthy, and I made sure I was feeding my body the right nutrients. I was in great shape, and I loved that feeling. But when I came back to college I started picking up bad habits.  It is easier to heat frozen nuggets in the microwave than preparing grilled chicken, and Easy Mac is always preferable over a real meal when you have less than 20 minutes between work and meetings. Having a Shake Shack right below your apartment doesn’t help at all either, especially when you know you forgot to defrost the meat for the fifth day in a row.

I started feeling tired after a while, and I could feel how my body was changing. It was definitely something I was not happy with. I decided to change this and go back to my summer habits. I found a workout buddy, I Instacart'ed fruits and veggies, and I was ready to go and pinned a lot of healthy recipes on my Pinterest’s boards. That was until I decided to make every decision by asking, "What Would Lorelai Gilmore Do?"

I started my week by waking up as late as I could. I normally I try to wake up at least an hour before leaving the house so I don’t have to rush anywhere, but I knew that sleeping in was something Lorelai would do. I rushed down the door with shoes in hand and putting them on as I sprinted downstairs. When I got out of my apartment, I knew it was time for coffee, and I opted for the coffee shop that serves the strongest, biggest coffee on campus.

“Coffee, coffee, coffee!” I said as I got near the cashier.
“Excuse me?” she asked me, with an annoyed expression on her face.
“Coffee, big, dark,” I replied. I knew this was not the appropriate way to order my morning drink, but hey—it was the Lorelai in me talking!

I ordered the largest coffee they have on their menu. I am a believer of splurging on coffee just when it is extremely necessary, otherwise I will brew my own cup of joe at home. I knew Lorelai wouldn’t brew her own coffee unless she was fighting with Luke, and since I haven’t picked a fight with my barista (yet!), I decided to go for it.

I got to my internship 20 minutes after my stop at the coffee shop. I could feel my heart racing, and the caffeine was making me extremely anxious. Even if I normally drink strong coffee, I'd never had one this strong. While I was working on my project, the secretary of the office offered me coffee, and a Gilmore never says no to more coffee, so I went for it. During the whole week my caffeine levels were extremely high, to the point that sleeping before 3 a.m. was not an option. I also started drinking coffee after 4 p.m., something that my grandmother taught me not to do. Uh oh.

I bought lunch almost every day from food trucks around the area or the food court below my office. I wanted to pack lunch or bring something from home, but I knew that Lorelai doesn’t cook unless she is using a microwave to reheat leftovers. I started watching movies and eating an insane amount of nachos (read: melted cheese on top of Tostitos), a couple bags of Reese’s... and let’s not even talk about take-out. I had enough leftovers to feed an entire army.

Besides changing my eating and coffee-drinking habits, I started saying everything that was on my mind out loud. I have always been a straightforward girl, but this week I took it to another level. Instead of waiting to be asked for my opinion, I would just give my two cents about everything. As Lorelai would do, I was extremely sarcastic and ironic with all my answers, and I babbled a lot. I used more pop culture references, even ones that nobody would understand. Some of my friends even got tired of my excessive talking, and one of them asked me to give her a break. She knew I was doing this project, but she couldn’t take my babbling anymore.

I didn’t clean my room at all during that week either, and I just left my clothes spread around the floor or on my desk. I refused to do my laundry until the last minute. I was more of a slob that week that I have ever been in my life. I even stopped using my color-coded system because Rory is the organized one of the pair. I felt like my disorganization was getting out of control, and it was starting to bother the type-A person I am, but more than once I had to sit down and pretend nothing was out of order because that’s how Lorelai would handle this.

I have to admit that my opinion of Lorelai Gilmore changed significantly when I started acting like her. When I got out of my first serious relationship, Gilmore Girls was the show that reminded me how strong I am. I thought of both Rory and Lorelai as role models, people worth admiring and maybe imitating, but after making every decision based on Lorelai I realized there is no one I would rather be than myself. Lorelai is great to watch on TV, but her life is not for me. Even if I'm normally a sarcastic-coffee-lover-straight-forward girl, I am never going to be a Gilmore, and I'm okay with that.

Kanye West Hospitalized Shortly After Canceling His Tour

Kanye West is reportedly under observation at the UCLA Medical Center "for his own health and safety." This news came shortly after West's concert promoter, Live Nation, announced the cancellation of his 21 remaining U.S. tour dates.

It has been a controversial few days for West. Thursday night, during his concert in San Jose, California, West went on a political rant expressing his support for President-elect Donald Trump. He said that he hadn't voted in the 2016 presidential election, but that if he had, it would have been for Trump.

On Saturday, West arrived late for his concert in Sacramento, California, performed only two songs, and then embarked on another stream-of-consciousness rant. This time, West bashed Beyoncé, Mark Zuckerberg, Hillary Clinton and more before literally dropping the mic and walking off stage.

TMZ reported that West was "acting erratically" when police responded to a medical welfare call on Monday afternoon. According to Us Weekly, West's wife, Kim Kardashian, immediately rushed to the hospital upon finding out he'd been admitted. Kim was in New York City on Monday for the Angel Ball, an event being held in honor of her late father Robert Kardashian. She was scheduled to make her first public appearance since she was the victim of an armed robbery in Paris last month, but flew back to Los Angeles to be with her husband instead. Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian and Kris Jenner were in attendance at the charity event.

West's mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, spoke about his condition on Monday night. "He's exhausted. He's just really tired," Jenner said. "He's had a grueling tour and it's been a grind, so he just needs to rest."

Celebrities and fans tweeted messages in support of West:

Mental health is a serious subject, and it should never be taken lightly. We wish Kanye all the best with his recovery, even if it means that he has to step out of the spotlight.

Instagram Just Added Live Video and Picture Messaging Features

Yesterday, Instagram announced its addition of two new video and messaging features. The first is a live recording feature, which is integrated into the Instagram Stories part of the app that came out back in August. The second is one Snapchat users will be very familiar with—it allows users to send photos and short videos through Instagram’s direct message feature.

Direct messaging works pretty similarly to Snapchat, just via Instagram’s format. What’s cool about this new update is that you can send photos to pre-set groups, instead of having to click each person individually. Instagram basically did Snapchat backwards (first stories, then individual messages).

While the live video feature isn’t quite user-ready (if you go to update the app on your phone, it says “coming soon!”), the direct messaging feature is. According to the announcement, the live recording feature “will roll out globally over the next few weeks.”

The live video feature is different from Instagram Stories in that it only exists while you’re recording. It's more like Facebook Live—but unlike Facebook's iteration, the video completely disappears once you're done recording. Viewers can also like and comment on the live video, but it doesn’t look like you can add text or draw on the recording yet.

In an interview with Buzzfeed in early October, Instagram's co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom emphasized that these updates are in an effort to keep the app innovative and in line with its mission. "Instagram's mission is to make sure that everyone can capture and share the world's moments and use them to form stronger relationships with one another," Systrom said.

So, the question we’re all asking is...what does this mean for Snapchat? Will the endlessly exciting filters and curated stories keep us loyal to the OG picture messaging system? Will it become obsolete with Instagram’s aesthetically-pleasing setup? It's too soon to know, but it looks like Instagram is trying hard to compete with other social networks' best features.

Millennials Talk A Lot About Social Justice Issues Without Actually Taking Action, Studies Find

$

A number of recent studies have indicated that, while our generation might be passionate about political and other activist issues, we don’t seem super willing to take actual action to effect change. This is made even easier by social media (look up “hashtag activism”), where we are able to feel like we participated in political or social justice activism without actually doing much.

This feeling of validation makes us kind of complacent, because we think we know all about the issues and feel good about spreading the word, according to Broadly. “‘The brain is always at work for the path of least resistance,’” according to Derrick Feldmann, president of Achieve, a research foundation that studied millennial activist trends.

In a separate study, it was discovered that young people who actually get involved with the causes they are passionate about are seriously in the minority. “While 68 per cent of young adults talk about issues such as animal cruelty and human rights both online and off, 36 per cent took action and even fewer, 23 per cent, have taken to the streets to protest,” according to The Independent.

The same study found that millennials might spend 28 minutes a week talking about climate change, 38 minutes talking about ethical living and 44 minutes talking about human rights, but a tiny number of those folks are actively involved in social justice work, even if it’s sporadic.

Some of these trends might demonstrate why only about 50 percent of eligible voters aged 18-29 voted in this year’s election. In a study from Tufts University, it was found that even in states highly important to the electoral vote, only 55 percent of young people voted. The study also found that while more young people are becoming more liberal, they might also be experiencing disillusionment with the two-party system and don’t see the Democratic ticket as one that can help them. This might help explain why millennials are taking less action—they don’t know how they can.

Feldmann suggested to Broadly that activist and other organizations need to give their supporters paths to action that are clear and legitimately manageable. "’We need to be led at times to go and act next and do things,’" says Feldmann.

This isn’t all to say that conversation isn’t important—it is, and that’s where these movements get their start. But we have to be more willing to get our hands dirty and do the work that follows. It’s hard and it’s drawn out, but who are we to talk about how infuriated we are by the injustices in the world without actually doing anything about them? We have the privilege to have this knowledge, and we have to put our privilege to use in compassionate and open-minded ways.

A Woman Killed a Mother & Kidnapped a Newborn—After Faking Her Own Pregnancy

A Dallas woman has been accused of shooting a Kansas mother to death and kidnapping her baby. According to the Associated Press, Yesenia Sesmas—who is also suspected of faking a pregnancy for multiple months—is currently being held in a Dallas County jail. KWCH reports that Sesmas was charged Tuesday morning, but the charges have not yet been announced.

Sesmas says she killed Laura Abarca-Nogueda but didn’t mean to do it. In an interview with KUVN-TV, the 34-year-old talked about a deal she had supposedly made with Abarca-Nogueda. Sesmas told interviewers that the 27-year-old mother agreed to give her newborn daughter to her. Upon meeting with Abarca-Nogueda for the exchange, though, Sesmas said she discovered that the mother no longer wished to fulfill her end of the deal. Sesmas threatened Abarca-Nogueda with a gun, and she insists that it went off accidentally.

CBS News reports that Abarca-Nogueda was found dead in her Kansas home on Thursday. FBI agents and Kansas police proceeded to search for the missing baby, which led them to Sesmas’s home in Dallas. The baby was recovered early Saturday morning, Sesmas was taken into custody and the state of Kansas began the process of turning over the case to the Texas judicial system.

The women had a longstanding relationship prior to the murder. In fact, Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile told the AP that Sesmas had spent time in Abarca-Nogueda’s hometown before going back to Texas and faking a pregnancy for a period of several months. Sesmas resided in Dallas, then returned to Wichita to kidnap her acquaintance’s baby.

“Laura was a loving mother, she was an amazing person,” Jose Abarca, the baby's uncle, told KWCH. “I know she was only a mother for six days, but pretty sure those were the best moments for her.”

Donald Trump Has Released His First Presidential Message On YouTube

After weeks of limited public appearances following his election to the highest office, President-Elect Donald Trump released a video on YouTube Monday night to update the American public on how his transition efforts are going.

Surprisingly, Trump avoided much of the controversial rhetoric that won him the presidency in his first presidential message. Instead, he focused on how he would make America great again by “putting America first.”

“Whether it’s producing steel, building cars or curing disease,” Trump said to the camera. “I want the next generation of production and innovation to happen right here, in our great homeland, America, creating wealth and jobs for American workers.”

Trump’s priorities for his first months as president included withdrawing from the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal, eradicating visa and immigration abuse, removing some energy restrictions and imposing a five-year ban on lobbying.

Notably missing from his online address to the American people were his other famous (or infamous) promises. He didn’t mention a temporary ban on Muslims, the wall between the U.S. and Mexico or prosecuting Hillary Clinton. (Trump's former campaign magnager Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday that Trump will not attempt to prosecute Clinton.)

The two-and-a-half-minute clip, which The New York Times described as an “infomercial-style video,” completely skipped over traditional news outlets or a press conference, opting for social media instead. Trump’s turn to YouTube came directly after he met with top TV executives and anchors Monday afternoon. According to Variety, he scolded many networks about “unfair” campaign coverage and attempted to “re-set” his media relations.

Ari Fleischer, George W. Bush’s former press secretary, speculated to the Times that Trump delivering his message directly through YouTube is likely a continuation of Obama’s utilization of social media. However, Fleischer said skipping over news outlets 15 years ago would have been seen as propaganda. Trump has also abstained from have a press “pool” follow him and his family around post-election, which is incredibly unusual for a president-elect.

According to Mashable, Trump promised to share even more updates on the Transition 2017 YouTube channel within the next week. Instead of tuning into the evening news or grabbing a newspaper, maybe we should all be watching out for our future POTUS and his presidential messages online.

Amber Heard is Being Sued for $10 Million Because She Wouldn't Do Nude Scenes in Her New Film

Actress Amber Heard has most recently been in the news because of her divorce from Johnny Depp. Now, she's being accused of not fulfilling the duties of her latest film, London Fields. The production company for the film is suing Heard for at least $10 million dollars, according to Refinery29.

The court documents claim Heard failed to promote the film and refused to do the originally-scripted nude scenes. Instead, the scenes were supposedly rewritten or reworked by Heard and director Mathew Cullen. Heard's contract only said she could approve of the scenes after filming, not change their content.

TheWrap reports that Heard was also one of multiple stars who failed to show up to the movie's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). She did, however, attend TIFF to promote other films, including TheDanish Girl.

London Fields was filmed in 2015 during Heard's split from Depp, who also stared in the film. Refinery29 suggests that this may be one reason for her reluctance to be a part of press events. However, she did attend the premeire of Depp's film Black Mass.

Producers are also pointing fingers at Cullen, who they claim sabotaged the completion and marketing of the film. Cullen responded by suing the production company for fraud, claiming they did not give him the creative control he was promised.

There's no business like show business—and maybe that's a good thing.

A Lot More People Than You Think Are Team Dean

We're just going to get this out the way now: Dean Forester is probably one of Gilmore Girls' most frustrating characters, and we've got plenty of reasons why he drives us absolutely insane. Given all the cons stacked against Rory's first love, you might be surprised to learn that a lot of people are actually Team Dean. Crazy, we know.

Even though Jared Padalecki (aka Dean) already said that he won't have much screentime on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, there appears to be a huge chunk of people still holding out hope for a Rory and Dean rekindling.

With the reboot's premiere date just days away, Yik Yak conducted a survey, asking people whose team they're on—Dean, Jess or Logan. Just looking at the map, there's an overwhelming number of states that are totally Team Dean.

Even though neither Dean nor Rory is perfect, we just can't condone Dean's actions across the series. We also can't help but feel as though Rory deserves someone better. It looks like we'll just have to wait until November 25 to see the drama unfold!

Iskra Lawrence Undresses on New York City Subway to Preach Body Positivity

Aerie spokesmodel Iskra Lawrence is a leading proponent of body positivity, often speaking up about the importance of loving yourself and your body. She stepped this up to a whole new level, however, when she took off her clothes on a New York City subway, while making an emotional speech about her own long journey toward self-acceptance.

"I grew up hating what I saw in the mirror because society told me I was not good enough," Iskra says in the video. "I thought there was something wrong because I didn't have a thigh gap, that I had cellulite, that I wasn't skinny enough. That is the media; that is society making a small standard of beauty when we are so much more than that."

"This body is not just something to be objectified, to be grabbed, to be looked at. This is my vessel, this is my home," she said. "I respect it…Every single one of us has so much value and so much worth that is more than just skin. We are all brothers and sisters, we are all equal. This is just our vessel."

While her strategy may seem unorthodox, we admire Iskra for continually advocating body positivity. Watch the full video below:

Gabrielle Union Wants to Educate These Celebs About 'White Girl Privilege'

This year, several celebrities have faced extreme backlash for their comments about America's race issues—and Gabrielle Union has had enough of the "white girl privilege." In a lengthy interview with Harper's Bazaar, Gabrielle spoke candidly about her thoughts on "white privilege" and her hopes to educate female celebrities who don't appear to understand the full extent of their privilege.

During her interview, Gabrielle called out celebrities who are guilty of perpetuating the "white girl privilege" narrative. Such stars include Lena Dunham, Amy Schumer and Kate Upton. Amy faced intense backlash after she recreated Beyoncé's "Formation" video. Considering that Bey's track and music video outline her identity as a black woman, as well as black culture, it's understandable that people were outraged by Amy's insensitivity. The fact that she thought it was acceptable to recreate Beyoncé's music video further shows "white girl privilege" in full effect.

Kate Upton faced criticism a few months ago, when she chided Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the national anthem, as a way to take a stance against police brutality and racial inequalities. "Sitting or kneeling down during the national anthem is a disgrace to those people who have served and currently serve our country," Kate wrote on Instagram.

As as black woman who has faced a decent amount of racism, Gabrielle can no longer sit on the sidelines and let privileged white stars speak about issues they don't fully understand. In fact, Gabrielle admitted that she has felt "hyper-visible or invisible on sets."

For Gabrielle, the race issue is one that also affects her children. "They have their own phones," she said. "They ask logical questions and there's no rhyme or reason—you can't make your children feel any safer by saying it was just random."

"Just their physical presence puts them in danger, because their blackness has been criminalized," Gabrielle added.

The outspoken actress has already made an effort to educate such celebrities on their white privilege. She confirmed that she spoke to Lena, but she hopes that more discussions with other stars will "help to explain the oppressive systems that have benefited and allowed them to say these careless, insensitive and offensive things."

Preach, Gabrielle. Preach.

Emily Gilmore Was Not Impressed By Gilmore Girls' Final Four Words

T-minus three days until the long-awaited Gilmore Girls revival finally hits Netflix, and the hype is now at a monstrous level. Our anticipation is so high that even this news didn’t bum us out—Kelly Bishop, otherwise known as Emily Gilmore, apparently isn’t a fan of the last four words of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, according to HelloGiggles.

To be fair, the last four words are the stuff of legend for Gilmore Girls fans—we all know how show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had four words in mind to end the original series with, but her leaving the show before its series finale meant that the mystery of the words lived on…until now! The famed words will appear at the end of the last revival episode, which is titled “Fall.”

While other cast members say that the words are surprising, Bishop held nothing back in an interview with The Daily Beast. Scripts for the final episode only read “And then the last four words are said,” and when Bishop finally asked about the words, her response to them was simply, “Oh.”

“If it’s true, this is a really lousy thing to say, if it’s really true that those are the last four words then my reaction is, ‘Eh,’” she said in the interview. “That’s it.”

Honestly, we’re giving her reaction the benefit of the doubt and still hoping for the best for the revival’s ending. No matter what, Gilmore Girls is coming back—can we really ask for anything more?

There's Now A 'Game of Thrones' Wine Collection

Game of Thrones isn’t due back on TV until 2017, but until then, we can count our blessings by indulging in the show’s new line of wines. EW reports that the HBO hit has partnered with winery Vintage Wine Estates to create three types of wine that cover all of your bases—a Cabernet Sauvignon, a chardonnay and a “proprietary red blend.” While the Cabernet Sauvignon is a little pricey at $40, the other two wines are only $20, making them the perfect splurge for any college student.

For those working behind-the-scenes, creating a GoT wine line was a no-brainer, especially after working with a licensed beer vendor for a while. “Given the prominent role of wine on Game of Thrones and our previous success in the beverage category, an officially licensed wine for the show feels like a natural extension for our fans,” said Jeff Peters, director of licensing and retail for HBO.

With the show approaching its final days, fans are going to need these wines now more than ever. Keep an eye out when they go on sale in spring 2017!

FIT's Black Fashion Designers Exhibit Is a Step in the Right Direction

The Fashion Institute of Technology is giving talented black designers a much-needed opportunity to showcase their work. While the fashion industry is definitely more diverse today than it was even ten years ago, it’s still incredibly difficult for designers of color to create successful brands.

Opening on December 6, Black Fashion Designers is an exhibit curated by FIT in an effort to celebrate the work of black designers past and present. The showcase is the Museum at FIT’s second exhibit to honor black designers, the first being in 1992, according to Mic.

"Our exhibition is organized thematically," curatorial assistant Elizabeth Way said in an interview with Mic. "And this is also really important because one of the goals of the exhibition was to really show a wide range of design by black designers. That black design is not one thing."

Black Fashion Designers will showcase over 60 unique and talented designers in the hopes of creating more space in the fashion industry for black designers to shine. We can't wait to see all of these beautiful and impactful pieces!

10 Places to Shop if Athleisure is Your Aesthetic

Workout clothes are arguably the best kind of clothes. They’re made so that you can move, so that your skin can breathe, and basically so that you can kill your workout. Thankfully athleisure exists so we can get the best of both worlds when it comes to our clothes – style and function. Wearing old sweats, or shirts tearing at the seams, isn’t a good look in any setting. Polish your class-to-gym/home look with the help of these athleisure stores and brands.

1. Lululemon

Lulu is the OG athleisure brand. Their clothes range from basic leggings ($98) to performance shirts, and yoga accessories. The quality is top notch which is why they cost a bit more than your average workout gear. What you’re paying for are seamless lines and colorful pieces that will elevate your wardrobe. Buying a few essential pieces, like black leggings that actually look presentable, will boost your confidence as you go from class to your workout.

2. Athleta

Athleta, Lululemon’s rival, is owned by another store perfect for fitness gear, Gap Inc. Athleta has some major style going on. The website's lookbooks are proof of why we love wearing athleisure. "Style Vitals,""Total Versatility," and "Trail-to-Town" have the best combos for a flexible wardrobe. They also keep in mind our love for the gym and our love of fashion.

3. Fabletics

This store has had some mixed reviews because it’s not your typical workout gear store. Fabletics, which has only 18 brick and mortar stores, is mainly an online subscription service for athleisure wear. Every month you receive a list of outfits to pick from which range from versatile coats to stylish scarves. If you don’t want to spend your cash on an outfit that month, you can simply skip it and not pay anything. Some people forget to do so and then get upset when charged a fee. We love that they sell whole outfits as a package deal — aka you can get a shirt, bra, and leggings for one price.

4. Terez

Leggings from this store are sure to turn heads and can make a powerful fashion statement. Go beyond basic black leggings with sequin-studded capris or turn it back to 1980 with mixtape print leggings ($75). Styling these bold leggings with some of Terez’s plain tops will balance out the look.

5. Bandier

Bandier takes casual cool to occasional rebel with chic basics as well as glossy leggings. If Terez leggings seem a bit bold, this is the brand to start with. Start off with the subtle silk stencil print and work your way up to this etched paisley pant ($109). You'll feel confident enough to wear eye-popping prints in no time.

6. Carbon 38

With 86 brands sold on their site, including their own original pieces, there is something for every fitness-wear junkie. Love printed t-shirts with sassy sayings like “Post Pilates Pinot” or "Seriously Can't Even" ($52)? They have you covered. Or what about a jumpsuit that could be worn on a night out and double as a Catwoman costume for next Halloween? (It’s never too early to start planning!)

In fact, you would even go so far as to say you hate it. If you utterly loathe everything about Thanksgiving, here are 15 things you’re sure to relate to.

1. You gag when someone says “Happy holidays” because that means acknowledging Thanksgiving

2. It doesn’t make sense to you that people labor for an entire day to eat one meal

4. You think pumpkin pie is mediocre at best

5. And it’s freaking weird that we eat birds

6. Have you mentioned that turkeys are actually pure evil?

7. You’d much rather have your mom prepare a lavish meal of burgers and fries for dinner

8. Or Mexican food. Always Mexican food.

Self-care is the best care. (Let me say it louder.) SELF-CARE IS THE BEST CARE! Taking care of yourself mentally and physically is super important for your well-being. I do not practice selfcare as often as I should, but when I do, here are a few things that usually calm me down after a stressful day/week.

Coloring

YOU. ARE. NEVER. TOO. OLD. TO. COLOR. Coloring, painting or doing any form of arts and crafts is so therapeutic! I haven't colored in a while, but when I do anything artsy, I feel 100 percent relaxed. Even crossword puzzles and other thinking games give my mind a break from the real world by challenging it to think about something else.

Simply listening to music

Listening to music is great, but it's even better when you're doing absolutely nothing. I really enjoy laying flat on my back with my eyes closed and my music playing at a soothing level. Some great artists to listen to while relaxing are Alina BarazAllen StoneABRAChloe x Halle and my fav, NAO.

Watching YouTube tutorials

You're probably wondering how YouTube can declutter my mind; I honestly do not know. However, there's something about watching people put on makeup and do different things to their hair that makes me calm. I enjoy learning new makeup and hair techniques, so this is a fun way for me to relax.

With the incredible success of her lip kits and glosses, it's no surprise that Kylie Jenner is already planning what is next for her. In fact, she planned it back in June.

According to Teen Vogue, on June 23, Jenner filed a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term "Kylighter." Under the description part of the form, the product reads as: "Cosmetics; face and body highlighter cosmetics; cosmetic brushes; Make-up kits comprised of highlighter cosmetics and cosmetic brushes." UHH YES PLEASE!

So although it happened way back in June and there hasn't been an announcement about it yet, it probably means that a highlighter could definitly be in the works.. And if it is anything like the rest of her products, we know that it is going to sell out hella quickly.
