Ashley Benson Was Asked About Those Cara Delevingne Dating Rumors & Her Response Is Totally Valid

Supermodel Cara Delevingne and Pretty Little Liars alum Ashley Benson have been the latest celebrities to spark dating rumors, after they were seen showing some PDA at Heathrow Airport in London. But if you’re hoping to hear an official confirmation, you likely won’t be getting it any time soon.

Benson appeared on PEOPLE Now, where she was asked about relationships and went on to make a thoughtful statement about living in the public eye.

"I just kinda try to keep myself as private as possible,” she said. "That’s one good thing about living in New York—I can live kind of a normal lifestyle...in L.A., the paparazzi are really bad, but here I can kind of just walk anywhere and not be bothered."

Though Benson was seen wearing a “C” necklace, perhaps an adorable tribute to Delevingne, it looks like she wants to keep her relationships to herself—and that’s totally valid. As Teen Vogue points out, there is zero obligation for celebrities to respond to dating rumors—that’s their business, and they only need to share what they want to. Whether or not Benson and Delevingne have officially put a label on anything, they’ll let us know if or when they want to. Privacy is already hard enough to come by when you’re a celebrity, so Benson is definitely entitled to keep this part of her life to herself. We know we’ll be happy for them either way, and we want the best for both of them.

Top Student Loan Official Resigns & Accuses Administration Of Ignoring Students Financial Futures

On Monday it was announced that the nation’s top student loan official Seth Frotman will step down. According to the AP, Frotman was the student loan ombudsman at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau since 2016. According to NPR, he oversaw thousands of student borrowers complaints as well as protected student borrowers from questionable private lenders, loan services, and debt collectors.

In his resignation letter addressed to the agency’s president Mick Mulvaney, Frotman says the agency has “turned its back on young people and their financial futures,” and that the agency’s leaders choose to serve powerful financial companies instead of it’s consumers.

“Unfortunately, under your leadership, the Bureau has abandoned the very consumers it is tasked by Congress with protecting,” the letter said, NPR reports. “Instead, you have used the Bureau to serve the wishes of the most powerful financial companies in America.”

According to NPR, the CFPB has managed over 60,000 student loan complaints, and has returned over $750 million to borrowers since 2011. Since Trump’s presidential election, the office has changed. Last year, the US Department of Education decided that it wouldn’t share information with the agency about the departments error of federal student loans. According to the Associated Press, Mulvaney has scaled back Frotman’s enforcement work by basically shifting the agency to the financial education office. This means his work would be primarily in information-sharing than in investigations.

“The Bureau’s current leadership folded to political pressure… and failed borrowers who depend on independent oversight to halt bad practices.”

This comes at a time when student loan policies are being challenged. Currently, the Department of Education wants to change aid that is meant for defrauded students. Back in December 2017, the department did announce a new system that would restrict some student loan refunds for students, who said they were defrauded by their colleges, by linking it to their income.

There Is A New Drink To Order On Starbucks Secret Menu & It Tastes Just Like Peaches And Cream

Starbucks not-so-secret, secret menu has opened us all to a whole world of beverage possibilities. First, there was the Pink Drink, then there was the Purple Drink, and then the Orange drink followed suit. The Pink Drink alone became so popular that Starbucks made it an official drink on their menu. Now, the “secret menu” has added the White Drink that tastes just like peaches and cream if you know exactly what ingredients to asked for.

The White Drink or the Peach Citrus White Tea is similar to the chains Peach Citrus White Tea Infusion, according to Delish. Fans have blended fruit flavors like peach into the Starbucks Iced White Tea. Spoon University reports that the tea blend has zero carbs and sugar, but the liquid sugar makes it a big no-no for those on a keto diet. For Starbucks lovers who are on the keto diet, The White Drink is keto-friendly! All you have to do is substitute the sugar for sugar-free vanilla syrup or asking for it unsweetened.

A post shared by Sandra (@sandi_ibarra67) on

How do you order it though? You simply just ask your barista for unsweetened Peach Citrus White Tea with a splash of heavy cream; at least 2 pumps of sugar-free vanilla syrup; no water; and light ice. As well, you can customize it anyway you’d like, and some have even tried the creation blended.

An Instagram user posted that it tasted like “liquid peach cobbler”. Someone else compare the tea to Disney’s Peach Milk Tea from Epcot (btw, that tastes AMAZING). Someone even thought they’d been given the wrong drink because it taste so good.

Even though I’m not on keto, I just might have to try this on my next Starbucks run. Peach and cream flavor, sign me up!

WTF Even Is Wine Water & Would You Drink It?

The last time I thought about wine and water in the same sentence was when Jesus turned water into wine (tell me I'm not the only one). Well, this story’s sort of similar except that Napa Hills is now turning wine into water (WHAT?!). Yes, you heard me right. Want the benefits of your favorite wine without actually getting buzzed? We’ve got you covered.

Launched in 2017 in Chicago, Napa Hills Vineyard Enriched Water is a sort of wine-infused water. "Napa Hills makes it easy for health-conscious people to incorporate and enjoy the antioxidant benefits of red wine while hydrating anywhere, anytime,” CEO and Founder of Napa Hills Ellona Jarvis told The Shelby Report.

According to the website, red wine offers a number of health benefits; however, consuming more than two glasses of wine a day is bad for your health (whoops). So Napa Hills has come about to solve that problem by taking all the goodness of wine and putting it into a non-alcoholic drink.

As explained on the website, in order to make the beverage, Napa Hills “mix[es] purified water with VitaRes®, our proprietary blend of the same antioxidants naturally found in red wine, but without the alcohol”. The Vita-Res includes red grape skin as well as red wine extract, hence the whole wine water idea.

According to The Shelby Report Jarvis, who was born and raised in Crimea, "spent four years working alongside bio-science, winemaking, and beverage-production experts in the U.S." to work on developing the antioxidant blend a.k.a. a healthy alternative to your not-so-healthy wine obession.

Ready to give up drinking wine and jump on the healthy wine water bandwagon? Not going to lie, I’m a little skeptical as well but doesn’t hurt to try. A 12-pack of the drinks, which are currently available in Cherry Rosé and Peach Grigio flavors, can be ordered on their website or through Amazon for $30.00 and in select-stores in the Chicago Area.

BRB, while I finish that bottle of Merlot from yesterday.

A Wine Advent Calendar Is Here & It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas Already

Advent calendars were hands-down one of the best parts of Christmas as a kid. Who knew you could get such joy out of eating one piece of chocolate a day until December 25th. Find yourself wishing you could be a kid again and ignore all of the stress that gift-shopping and Christmas-dinner-planning brings along? Aldi is now offering us childhood nostalgia and stress-relief with their revamped wine Advent calendars.

The calendars, which were only available in the UK last year, include 24 miniature bottles of red, white, rosé and bubbly wine. Plus, the variety’s amazing, from Malbec to Sauvignon Blanc, there are choices from all over the world -- enough to satisfy both your and your friends’ wine preferences (if you’re actually up for sharing).

The excitement doesn’t stop there. If you’re going to be that extra and buy a wine calendar, you might as well take things a step further. Why not pair your wine calendar with the ultimate cheese Advent calendar for the ultimate cheese and wine themed Christmas extravaganza.

The cheese calendar offers just as much variety as the wine calendar, ranging from Gouda to Edam. Plus, it only costs $12.99. At $69.99, the wine calendars are a little more pricey than other options (but still totally worth it! Just think of all that wine!). They will be available in U.S. Aldis starting on November 7th. Christmas can’t come fast enough!

Lactose intolerant? Not a hard-core wineaholic? No worries, you won't be left out of the crazy Advent calendar trend. If you're a sucker for candles, why not try a Yankee Candle Advent Calendar? There's Pringles Advent Calendars if you find yourself craving something salty this holiday season. And for those who find themselves wishing they could buy up all of Sephora, there is even a Sephora Advent Calendar, with 24 beauty samples. What bliss!

My inner-child is jumping up and down with excitement right now. It's still August but Christmas is only 120-ish days away so it's really never too late to get excited. Plus, you will want to make sure you get yourself to Aldi before they sell out!

This 'Boy Meets World' Cast Reunion Photo Will Make You Nostalgic AF

It's only been almost 20 years since Boy Meets World was on air (much to our disappointment), but this reunion photo will throw you right back into the '90s. At the Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago this weekend, the four stars in the iconic promotional photo for the show–Danielle Fishel, Ben Savage, Will Friedle and Rider Strong—posed like the original shot, nearly 25 years later.

Fishel, who played Topanga, posted the shot on Instagram with the caption, "We hate each other," and it's honestly so adorable.

We hate each other

A post shared by daniellefishel (@daniellefishel) on

Fishel posted a couple other photos, like the one below, with the caption "Prom 2019. Our final day at Wizard World. This was genuinely the first time we, as a cast, have all been together for something like this. Even as kids. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and shared your BMW stories. Maybe we'll do this more?" And OMG, it looks like nothing has changed. It's so crazy they haven't done anything like this before, I'm living for it, TBH.

Honestly, I could only imagine being there to witness such an iconic moment. BRB, binge watching old BMW episodes on Hulu.

There's A GoFundMe Page To Help A Transgender Student In Oklahoma Move After She Received Threats

A GoFundMe page has raised over $50,000 to help the family of a 12 year old transgender student move away from the town and school system of Achille, Oklahoma, after she faced online threats from parents for using the girls bathroom at her middle school. The fundraisers original goal was to raise $15,000, but has definitely surpassed that.

The girl, Maddie, and her family moved to Achille years ago from Sherman, Texas for a fresh start, as she faced bullying at her former school, as her mother told NBC News. Since entering the Achille school system in fifth grade, the now seventh grader used the staff bathroom. On the first day of seventh grade, she decided to use the girls restroom. According to the GoFundMe page, she was in a new building for her classes, and she didn’t know where the staff bathrooms were.

Jamie Crenshaw, a parent at the school, found out and posted a response on the Achille parent Facebook page. According to the Washington Post, the now deleted-post said

“Heads up parents of 5th thru 7th grade girls...The transgender is already using the girls bathroom. We have been told how the school has gone above and beyond to make sure he has his own restroom yet he is still using the girls. REALLY….Looks like it’s gonna be a long year.”

Other harsh comments and violent threats were made in response to Crenshaw’s post. Parents in the Facebook group referred to Maddie as “it” and “thing”, and even encouraged students to be violent towards her, The Hill reports.

Oklahoma City journalist and writer L Anne Babb heard about the 12 year old’s experience and reached out to the family about starting a GoFundMe campaign to help relocate the family. “We have family in Houston that have been wanting us to move to them for years, but it has just never been a financial possibility,” the mother said, according to Babb’s GoFundMe description. The Washington Post reports that the family plans to move from Oklahoma, after their daughters experience in the school. The Post also reports that the family hopes to move to a more inclusive place.

“We actually tried a few years ago, but it all just fell apart, and was a mess. If we had the financial means to actually move, and get set up there, close to our family, and in a city that has so many more resources for Maddie, it would literally be life changing.”

If you would like to donate or support the campaign, you can donate directly to the GoFundMe page.

Jade Thirwall Says Little Mix Is Releasing An Album In Honor Of Their LGBTQ+ Fans & I Salute Them For It

Jade Thirlwall of British pop girl group Little Mix keeps the LGBTQ community close to her heart.

The Little Mix member made an appearance at Manchester Pride on August 26, marching with Stonewall, a British LGBTQ+ charity. “It was really emotional actually. I feel like as someone in the public eye and as an artist it’s our duty to raise awareness,” she told the Manchester Evening News of her time at Pride.

She also revealed that Little Mix’s fifth album, set for release this November, is dedicated to their LGBTQ+ fans. “We have a lot of LGBTQ+ fans,” she said. “it’s really important for us to encourage them to be who they are and to celebrate that through our music.”

Not only is Jade proud of the new album from an advocacy standpoint, but also an artistic one. “This is definitely my favorite album, you can tell it’s come from us,” she said. “I’m really excited for this album.”

Little Mix has represented the community with their music before. The music video for their collaboration with Cheat Codes, “Only You,” tells a same-sex love story. Their song with Jason Derulo, 2015’s “Secret Love Song,” was written with the community in mind, as was confirmed by Jade herself on Twitter.

Other pop artists have been using their star power to acknowledge their LGBT fans, as well. Billboard named Ariana Grande’s 2018 single “No Tears Left to Cry” and Sia’s “The Greatest” among their list of 25 New LGBTQ Anthems, both for the advocacy of the artists and the rainbow symbolism in the cover art and music video, respectively.

This tribute is just one more reason (girl power jams aside) to get excited for some new Little Mix jams!

This Fan Theory Might Be Proof That Dan Humphrey Was Revealed As Gossip Girl in Season 1 & It's SO Obvious

Even though it’s been six years since Gossip Girl ended, we’re still all shaken up about the reveal of the identity of that elusive Gossip Girl herself. By the way, it’s Dan Humphrey. Sorry about the spoiler but as I said before, it’s been six years since Gossip Girl ended.

The show still has some pretty sleuthy stans, though. Buzzfeed writer Ehis Osifo published a triumph in investigative journalism, claiming that Dan hinted at being Gossip Girl in the very first episode.

OH, YOU WANT PROOF?

Osifo said that Dan (Penn Badgley) had to become Gossip Girl to infiltrate Serena Van Der Woodsen’s (Blake Lively) social circle, all in an effort to be with her. “He had to find a way to fit into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s Elite.”

Some obvious tells Osifo points out include the screen panning to Dan when Gossip Girl is talking about herself, Dan eavesdropping on Chuck and Nate’s conversation, and his sister Jenny being the only one who wasn’t slandered on the blog. “Why would he shade his own blood?” she poses.

My personal favorite find was Dan being the only person to read Gossip Girl via computer instead of phone. That one is a good catch. We bloggers would never blog from a phone—though right now I am using my phone to read five different articles instead of writing this one.

I love a good foreshadow on TV, and it looks like Gossip Girl’s was hiding in plain sight the whole time. This seems like a good excuse to go back and binge the whole thing.

The Art of Layering: How to Make Your Closet Feel 10 Times Bigger

How many times have you looked in your closet and realized you have nothing to wear? Staring at a rack full of clothes and wearing the same three outfits every week is a constant struggle for even the most fashionable college girl. So, if your closet feels tired and your wardrobe feels too small, layering is the trick you need to hit the refresh button and expand your options.

Layering is an easy way to put those forgotten pieces sitting in the back of your closet to good use and create brand new looks you haven't tried yet. Whether it’s the streets at Paris fashion week or the Insta feed of your favorite blogger, layering has become popular for street style stars and bloggers everywhere.

There are several different ways to approach layering, but most pieces you have already can serve more than one purpose if you use them right! Even though layering might require some outside-the-box thinking, checking Pinterest or fashion blogs can help you find inspiration for how to work with the clothes you own. But the good thing is: We’ve done the work for you and have our top layering tips listed below.

1. Use your winter wardrobe in the warmer months

A good place to start with layering is to get out your winter wardrobe and see what you can use from there. Puffy jackets, denim, leather and long overcoats are all great items to use when putting together a sleek look and. You can even use your chunky sweaters and cardigans over some of your lightest dresses to transition your summer clothes into the fall.

Check out style bloggers like Something Navy and get inspo from street style mavens like Kylie Jenner for ideas on how to nail this look.

2. Your basic tank top

Another important tip is to remember the basics. Never underestimate the power of a plain slouchy-tee or tank.

When you're get creative with layering multiple tops over one another, keeping the colors simple and neutral is important. Sticking with black and white is also a good strategy when first trying out some bold layering styles. Minimalist fashion blogger, Heather Norgord of The Blonde Chic, is a master at layering simple pieces in black, white, and neutral.

3. Go retro and vintage

The other way to go with layers is by sporting a retro look. Using pieces like overalls can bring back a classic twist and mix up your tired weekend outfits. Digging out items from the back of your closet that you never thought you’d wear again, or even grabbing some hand me downs from previous decades (or your mom's closet) will make you feel like you have a ton of new inspo to work with.

Check out LA based style blogger Amy Roiland of A Fashion Nerd for some vintage inspiration. Her quirky style is great inspiration for using statement pieces and style influences from past decades. She's a pro at mixing prints and bright colors, so if you're looking to try out some bolder looks check out her feed for some fun ideas!

4. Try a laid back approach

Have you ever wanted to know how to achieve that simple yet stylish tropical look you see in vacation pics on Instagram? Layering is the perfect way to get the beach style of you're dreams. Plus, if you’re actually by the beach you're outfit won't only be stylist, but it'll help keep you warm when those chilly ocean breezes hit.

Adding a kimono or surfer girl sweatshirt to a simple tank top and cutoffs are great ways to change up the classic summer staple outfit.

Getting more use out of your closet definitely takes some creativity, but it can be a great way to try out some new styles and explore without breaking the bank.

Becky G Opens Up About Her Mental Health In Emotional Tweets: "It's Okay Not To Be Okay"

While it's easy for celebrities — or anyone, actually — to only highlight the best parts of their lives on social media, Becky G is keeping things real with her fans. The singer and actress took to Twitter late Sunday night to share what she was going through.

"Sitting on the bathroom floor in my hotel room… out of no where I start to hear Pedro Infante classics through the air vent distant but so clear… I laid down & just felt the need to cry it out…" she tweeted, followed up by, "Reminds me of when I was a little girl and my grandma would what the old black & white movies…"

Becky continued, "Sometimes I feel like the 8 year old little girl in me comes out when the grown up me gets tired of pretending she’s strong, independent & okay all the time. I’ve grown so much in the last year of my life.. I wouldn’t change a thing.."

She added that she was already feeling down — as she usually does when she's on the bathroom floor of a hotel — but "hearing that music felt like a sign to just let it all out."

"Like that pat on the shoulder of, That it’s okay not to be okay…" Becky tweeted.

Becky's final tweet was a great reminder that nobody's perfect.

"I know I don’t need to share all of this on social media… But with the pressures from society these days to be so ‘perfect’ I feel the need to share very few of my vulnerable moments," she posted. "Hopefully I can help someone else who might feel the same way not feel so alone."

Becky made another personal revelation just a few days ago while praising Demi Lovato for getting help after an alleged overdose and years of struggling with addiction. "It's something super personal and what I can say is that I'm happy that she's on the right path to recovery. And the truth is, recovery is never over for someone who's going through what she's going through," Becky toldEntertainment Tonight. "Not a lot of people know this, but it's something really close to my heart because I have a family member who suffers from the same thing, and I say 'suffer' because it really affects them and it affects everyone around them."

Lovato has always been open about her struggles, which Becky said she admires. "It's a sad thing," she said. "When you can overcome something [like that], and not only that, but share it in front of the world, because that's another thing that I applaud her for and I've always admired about her. She's so real."

Becky added that she's praying for Lovato. "I think about it on a daily basis because I'm going through it myself."

Rose McGowan Speaks Out Against Asia Argento: "Be the Person You Wish Harvey Could Have Been"

Rose McGowan is distancing herself from Asia Argento, an Italian actress and fellow #MeToo leader, who was recently accused of paying off a young actor after he alleged that Argento sexually assaulted him when he was 17 years old. Though McGowan first responded to the news last week — saying she was "heartbroken" and asking the public to "be gentle" until the truth was revealed — the lengthy statement McGowan issued on Monday details how she feels about her now former friend.

"A lot of people have been demanding answers and a response to the recent events surrounding Asia Argento’s sexual assault case," McGowan begins, after thanking everyone for their patience. "Many people believe that because we have been close in each other’s lives over the past year that perhaps I am affiliated with this incident or being complicit. I am not."

McGowan revealed that she actually found out about actor Jimmy Bennett's allegations against Argento from the person she's currently dating, Rain Dove (whose pronouns are they/them), though she didn't say when. On August 20, The New York Times published a story titled, "Asia Argento, a #MeToo Leader, Made a Deal With Her Own Accuser," and two days later, TMZ published texts between Argento and who McGowan claims is Dove, where Argento admits she slept with Bennett. The couple supposedly took these texts to the police before they were leaked.

According to the NYT report, Argento allegedly paid Bennett a $380,000 settlement. Argento has since denied the assault accusations, and claims that her late boyfriend, Anthony Bourdain, made the payment so Bennett would stop harassing them.

"I received a phone call and series of messages from the being I’ve been dating- Rain Dove. They said that they had been texting with Asia and that Asia had revealed that she had indeed slept with Jimmy Bennet. Rain also shared that Asia had stated that she’d been receiving unsolicited nudes of Jimmy since he had been 12," McGowan's statement reads. "Asia mentioned in these texts that she didn’t take any action on those images. No reporting to authorities, to the parents, or blocking of Jimmy’s social media. Not even a simple message 'Don’t send me these images. They are inappropriate.' There were a few other details revealed as well that I am not at liberty to mention in this statement as investigators do their job."

McGowan continues, "Rain Dove said that they were going to go to the police with these texts once we were done speaking no matter what. But that they wanted me to be aware of them so that I may be able to take further actions. I responded with 'You have to. You must.' I wasted no time. It wasn’t hard to say or support," McGowan said. "What was hard was the shell shock of the realisation that everything the MeToo movement stood for was about to be in jeopardy. An hour after our conversation was finished Rain Dove confirmed that they had turned over the texts and were in conversation with officers. Almost 48 hours later the texts were in the press."

According to McGowan, it makes sense that Argento opened up to Dove. "I know Rain is a person to whom many high profile entities consult when they are experiencing social pressures because Rain is good at guiding them through the research confrontation, rehabilitation, and solution process," she said. "While they are a person who is good at keeping a secret for those dedicated to making things right- they are also justice driven. So it was not a surprise to me that I received that call and the messages from them."

She commended Dove for their bravery, especially since they knew McGowan was extremely close with Argento. The two bonded over the past year after they both revealed allegations of sexual misconduct against Harvey Weinstein. Since then, they've been active in the ongoing #MeToo movement.

"I first met Asia on a red carpet, but it’s only been the past year through our shared experience of the [Harvey Weinstein] case that we have bonded. Asia was a person who understood my trauma in a way that many others didn’t. We were able to talk through them together and champion each other’s voices," she said. "We even got matching dot tattoos! Something I had posted on my IG just about a month ago. It’s no secret to anyone that Im a blunt, candid, brazen individual vocally- and I think that’s what I really related to Asia the most with. They were edgy, confrontational, and strong willed with very little care about how much other’s liked or disliked them. Rare things to find in women in this industry or the world."

"But then everything changed," McGowan said, referring to the call she received from Dove.

Now, she's focused on moving forward.

"To the people who have checked in with me to see if I’m alright- the answer is thank you and Yes. I’ll be fine. Its sad to lose a friend connection, but whats even more sad is what happened to Jimmy Bennet. Whether or not the extortion case is true- it wasn’t fair and it wasn’t right," McGowan said. "It is the type of thing I fight against alongside so many. The reason I haven’t released a statement is because I’ve frankly been extremely humbled by this event. I had to take a step back and realise that in my own activism while I fight hard with passion- I need to evolve."

She continued, "In the past I have been occasionally angry. As a victim I was justified in fiery feelings. But I know that those accused are the friends, parents, and family members of other people. There absolutely should be no leeway or tolerance for sexual assault. Hard stop. NONE. Victims also shouldn’t be told how they should react or what they should say about their abusers. However as allies to the victim and voyeurs of an event we should find a better way to balance support of the victim with due process for the accused. I’ve never claimed to be perfect. This week especially has made me come to terms with the fact that we all have a lot of growing to do, including myself."

McGowan ended her statement with a plea to Argento. "I really hope you find your way through this process to rehabilitation and betterment. Anyone can be be better- I hope you can be, too. Do the right thing. Be honest. Be fair. Let justice stay its course. Be the person you wish Harvey could have been."

Read the full statement below:

I would first of all like to start off this statement saying thank you for your patience. A lot of people have been demanding answers and a response to the recent events surrounding Asia Argento’s sexual assault case. An hour after our conversation was finished Rain Dove confirmed that they had turned over the texts and were in conversation with officers. Almost 48 hours later the texts were in the press.

I had introduced Rain Dove to Asia Argento last month, three days after the passing of Anthony Bourdain. I was with Asia to comfort and support her. Rain Dove came to support us both. It was an emotionally chaotic time and Rain Dove suggested we go to Berlin for a couple days to take the mourning out of Asia’s home and into a neutral space. So we did. While in Berlin Asia had mentioned that she was being extorted for a large sum of money every month by someone who was blackmailing them with a provocative image. No one in the room knew who the extortionist was. Now we know it to be a reference to this case.

Rain Dove continued on communicating with Asia occasionally after meeting her- and their conversations have been their own. I know Rain is a person to whom many high profile entities consult when they are experiencing social pressures because Rain is good at guiding them through the research confrontation, rehabilitation, and solution process. While they are a person who is good at keeping a secret for those dedicated to making things right- they are also justice driven. So it was not a surprise to me that I received that call and the messages from them. I’ve referred to Asia in the past as “My Ride or Die” and said very clearly that their friendship comes first. I know that coming to me with those messages must have been hard for Rain because of that so I commend them for their bravery.

To the people who have checked in with me to see if I’m alright- the answer is thank you and Yes. I’ll be fine. Its sad to lose a friend connection, but whats even more sad is what happened to Jimmy Bennet. Whether or not the extortion case is true- it wasn’t fair and it wasn’t right. It is the type of thing I fight against alongside so many. The reason I haven’t released a statement is because I’ve frankly been extremely humbled by this event. I had to take a step back and realise that in my own activism while I fight hard with passion- I need to evolve. In the past I have been occasionally angry. This week especially has made me come to terms with the fact that we all have a lot of growing to do, including myself.

At this current moment it may be easy to focus on the drama of the situation. The conspiracy. But the real focus should be on supporting justice. Supporting honesty. And supporting each other. We can not let this moment break the momentum of a movement that has freed so many people. We must use it to allow us to become stronger. More compassionate. More aware. And More organised.

Asia you were my friend. I loved you. You’ve spent and risked a lot to stand with the MeToo movement. I really hope you find your way through this process to rehabilitation and betterment. Anyone can be be better- I hope you can be, too. Do the right thing. Be honest. Be fair. Let justice stay its course. Be the person you wish Harvey could have been.

Apple Is Reportedly Launching Three New iPhones

It's that time of year again — summer's ending, Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Lattes have returned, and new iPhones are coming.

Granted, they're not expected to be as flashy as last year's iPhone X or 2014's iPhone 6. This is because Apple typically follows a pattern of introducing an entirely new design one year, followed by upgraded versions the next (AKA the "S year"). While some at Apple are still calling 2018 an "S year,"Bloomberg reported that the company is still expected to launch three new phones.

Though not technically "new" designs, each iPhone will have a number of upgrades that go beyond speed. For example, all three will reportedly have the edge-to-edge screen design that was introduced with the iPhone X last year. They'll also "boast a wider range of prices, features and sizes to increase their appeal," according to Bloomberg

Here's an individual breakdown:

  • A new "high-end" iPhone. The display will measure about 6.5 inches diagonally, making it the largest iPhone yet (and one of the biggest phones on the market in general). It will have a glass back, stainless steel edges, dual cameras on the back, and software-wise, people will be able to view content side-by-side in apps like Mail and Calendar.
  • An upgraded version of the current iPhone X, with the main differences being the process speed and camera.
  • A device "destined to replace the iPhone 8," at a lower cost. It will look like the iPhone X, but have a larger screen, come in multiple colors, and feature aluminum edges.

Apple is also expected to launch updated AirPods, a new Apple Watch, and upgraded iPad Pro tablets.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but here's to hoping everyone's current devices don't slow down in the meantime.

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Trump Breaks Silence About John McCain

President Trump remained relatively quiet after the death of Arizona Senator John McCain on Saturday, aside from a tweet in which he offered his "deepest sympathies" for McCain's family. Trump met with reporters a number of times on Monday, only to repeatedly ignore questions about the late senator. According to sources who spoke to CNN, the president was "fed up" with the television coverage of McCain's death, which he deemed "over the top." Trump eventually relented and issued a statement after urging from senior aides. "Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain's service to our country," Trump wrote.

The president was also forced to answer for the White House flag, which was lowered for McCain on Saturday, only to be quickly raised back to full staff. People on both sides of the political spectrum condemned the decision. "I strongly urge you to make an appropriate presidential proclamation noting Senator McCain's death and legacy of service to our nation, and that our nation's flag be half-staffed through his interment," said the national commander of the American Legion in a statement

After the backlash, Trump signed a proclamation to to put the US flag at half-staff. In a statement, he also said that he asked Vice President Mike Pence to speak at a ceremony honoring McCain this Friday. "At the request of the McCain family, I have also authorized military transportation of Senator McCain’s remains from Arizona to Washington, D.C., military pallbearers and band support, and a horse and caisson transport during the service at the United States Naval Academy. Finally, I have asked General John Kelly, Secretary James Mattis, and Ambassador John Bolton to represent my Administration at his services," Trump said.

According to ABC News, the McCain family previously asked Trump not to attend his funeral. Barack Obama and George W. Bush will not only attend, but also deliver eulogies for the senator on Saturday.

The US & Mexico Reached A "Preliminary" Trade Agreement That Could Replace NAFTA

The Trump administration announced on Monday that it reached a new trade agreement with Mexico that could potentially alter parts of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Canada has yet to sign on to the changes, which Trump discussed from the Oval Office while on a conference call with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto. Trump has been a vocal critic of NAFTA, and now, he even wants to get rid of the name. "They used to call it NAFTA," he said. "We're going to call it the United States-Mexico trade agreement. We're going to get rid of NAFTA because it has a bad connotation."

According to CNN, the new trade deal — which still needs Congressional approval — would require that 75 percent of car parts that are sold in North America be produced in the US or Mexico. This is significantly higher than the current requirement: 62 percent of parts, which can be produced in not only Mexico or the US, but also Canada. 40 to 45 percent of the auto parts produced must also be made by workers who make at least $16 USD per hour. The agreement would last for 16 years

A spokesperson for Canadian Minister of Foreign Affiars Chrystia Freeland said that Canada is "encouraged by the continued optimism" shown by the US and Mexico. Freeland is set to travel to Washington on Tuesday to participate in negotiations.

New Information About Jacksonville Shooting Emerges

Details about Sunday's deadly shooting at a video game competition in Florida and the suspect behind the incident began to emerge on Monday. USA Today reported that the shooter, 24-year old David Katz of Baltimore, had a "weird" online presence, and he was known to have spent time in psychiatric facilities as a teenager. Katz traveled to Florida to participate in the Madden NFL 19 competition over the weekend, where he eventually killed two and wounded 11 before taking his own life.

Katz apparently had a history with police, too. CNN obtained records that showed 26 calls to police from his family home over the years. The reasons for the calls ranged from "mental illness" to domestic disputes.

According to officials, the gun Katz used on Sunday was purchased legally. Though he only used one weapon, he reportedly had two with him — a 9mm handgun and a .45-caliber handgun. The second gun was also said to be legally purchased.

What to look for...

FYI, Each Of These Gummies Has As Much Caffeine As A Cup Of Coffee

Have you ever wondered why you love coffee so much? Seriously, how is it possible to love coffee so much? I practically drink it everyday.  Yet, sometimes when I drink more than a cup, I am literally bouncing off the walls. I absolutely love the taste, but too much makes me jittery. According to Seattle Gummy Company, they have released a new caffeine gummy that will seriously knock your socks off without any of the jitter affects.

It’s like coffee on the go, but in gummy form. According to Foodbeast, the new high energy Mocca Shots comes with more caffeine than your typical 8 ounce cup of coffee. The company also claims that it works five times faster than coffee because of the way they absorb into the body. Mocca Shots come in a chocolate raspberry flavor and a chocolate orange flavor.

Seattle Gummy Company claims that mixing chocolate with caffeine decreases the jittery side effects of a cup of coffee. According to a study (sponsored by the Hershey Company), cocoa improves cognition and attention. When you drink caffeine by itself, it tends to increase anxiety. Adding cocoa to caffeine can reduce the anxiety-inducing effects.

So basically the study encourages our mocha latte obsessions.

The company also says their gummies have the highest caffeine concentration available on the market right now, according to FoodBev Media

“Next to an IV, Mocca Shots are the fastest way to deliver caffeine directly into the bloodstream,” CEO of the Seattle Gummy Company Dr. Connie Wan said to FoodBev

Mocca Shots are $33 for a box of 12 pouches, and each pouch contains two gummies. Each gummy also contains 100mg of caffeine in comparison to the 95mg in a cup of coffee. You can also purchase a “sample pack” that contains four-packs of gummies for $9.99.

Maybe you can spice up your morning jolt with these gummies.

Stephen Curry Wrote An Essay About Gender Equality & He Checked All the Feminist Boxes

All feminists will tell you that in order for us to ever reach true gender equality, the burden can’t be only on women—men need to step up to the plate as well. Thankfully, Stephen Curry seems to recognize that, as he wrote a powerful essay on gender equality for The Players’ Tribune.

The Golden State Warriors player has clearly been thinking about gender equality for a long time: he opens his essay, titled "This Is Personal", by talking about his two daughters, Riley and Ryan, who are six and three years old, respectively. It’s understandable that parenthood causes many adults to think about the future of their society, which their kids are growing up in. And when your kids will grow up to be women, the problems that women have to face come into much sharper focus—for mothers, but especially for fathers—than they would have otherwise.

However, Curry clarifies that “I think it’s important that we all come together to figure out how we can make [equal pay for men and women] possible, as soon as possible. Not just as ‘fathers of daughters,’ or for those sorts of reasons. And not just on Women’s Equality Day. Every day—that’s when we need to be working to close the pay gap in this country.”

This “fathers and daughters” note is important—many have criticized men for basing women’s self-worth on their relations to men (“I’m a feminist because I love my mother” or “I’m a feminist because I have daughters”).

Of course, Curry does go on to shout out his mother Sonya, and his wife Ayesha, but at least he’s self-aware enough to know that his feminism shouldn’t depend on his relationship to women.

And though it can be easy for men to claim they want gender equality and then do nothing about it, Curry seems to know that performative male feminism is not enough, as he then discusses the time he hosted a basketball camp for 200 girls, which included a Q&A with successful women in the sports and business fields (which are largely male-dominated). Curry even calls the camp the “first annual” one, as he plans to host it again in coming years and to keep combating the barriers that female athletes face.

“And while that moment was satisfying,” he writes, “I’m not even close to satisfied. In fact, I’m feeling more driven than ever—to help out women who are working toward progress, in any way that I can. Let’s work to close the opportunity gap. Let’s work to close the pay gap. And let’s work together on this.”

For his part, Curry plans to start with the raising of his son, Canon, to know that “to be a true supporter of women’s equality—it’s not enough anymore to be learning about it. You have to be doing it.”

I couldn’t agree more.

While we can feel ourselves growing older and older with each passing day, a little bit of nostalgia is definitely a welcome surprise.

If you were of fan of Nickelodeon or Disney Channel growing up (and if you weren’t, what’s wrong with you?), you know that “where are they now” shots and reunion photos of favorite childhood actors are some of the best things living on the internet.

This week, it was Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy who hit us right in the feels with Instagram photos of their road trip together.

Road trippin’

The former stars of Nickelodeon’s iCarly have often posted pictures together in the past, warming our hearts with their love for each other and reminding us of the good old days of sitting on the couch with a snack to watch cartoons all afternoon (homework and stress nowhere to be found).

Along with Mia Serafina, who starred in NBC’s Crowded with Cosgrove, the two stars went “road trippin.” Sharing an adorable set of photo booth pictures and a car selfie on Instagram, the trio couldn’t have looked any cuter.

Though where they went is still a mystery, the three reminded us that our childhoods aren’t dead and their friendship is still alive and well.

But we do have one question—where’s Freddie?

Anna Kendrick Revealed What It's Like To Kiss Blake Lively & The Juciy Details Are Cleaner Than You Would Expect

Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick are currently in the midst of promoting their new film, A Simple Favor, and in addition to having fun and poking fun at Ryan ReynoldsKendrick is spilling secrets about what exactly is was like to kiss Lively

The former Pitch Perfect star proved to be a courteous and considerate scene partner for their intimate scene, as she wanted her breath to be as fresh as possible for Lively. “I mean, all I’m ever thinking about in [kissing] scenes is, who has gum?,” Kendrick said. “Who has a mint? And I think Blake is probably the same because I’ve never experienced a guy, searching for gum. So, we were the mintiest, freshest two people to ever have kissed in the history of America.”

In addition to sharing these secrets from the set, Kendrick also opened up about her own sexuality

The actress revealed to PrideSource that in her personal life, she has had a few “girl crushes” and has kissed women.

“There’s somebody I’m still friends with, and when we met we kissed. This was after high school, and it was the first time I had kissed a girl where it wasn’t just like, we’re at a party and boys are watching! That horrible performance silliness. But I think I haven’t had the emotional love for a lady, which isn’t saying it could never happen to me,” she told the publication.

But Kendrick didn’t even stop there with the juicy reveals! She opened up about reading Pitch Perfect fanfiction, the alternate ending the third film could have had and the potential for one more film with the Bellas.

You probably recall that Kendrick played Beca and Brittany Snow played Chloe. The two characters had an obvious connection in the film franchise, leading many fans to speculate that the two would eventually be a couple. And while Pitch Perfect didn’t end with Chloe and Beca together, Kendrick isn’t ready to close the door on that story yet.  “I definitely wanted to have an ending that was a Bechloe ending, and we did shoot one version where Brittany and I tricked everybody into just shooting one that was just the two of us getting together,” she said

“We knew it was a long shot. It meant so much to us that there was this following around their latent relationship and, yeah, I thought it would’ve been really cool if it would have ended up coming to fruition in the end. If we ever do a four, I will fight tooth and nail for it, but I’m not sure it’s gonna happen."

Anna Kendrick has always proven to be #relatable and honest–let's hope she continues this f-o-r-e-v-e-r!

A Simple Favor hits theaters September 14.
