Sparkle, sheer and glamour were this year's Grammys words of choice. The usual suspects for daring-to-borderline-crazy fashions were surprisingly demure this year (Lady Gaga showed up looking... normal). Music's biggest night had a bit of a somber feel with Usher's tribute to Stevie Wonder and a shoutout to Ferguson from Beyoncé, John Legend and Common. In spite of the mature tone of this year's award show, there were still a few celebs who went all out and gave us something to talk about.
1. Katy Perry
It's not unusual to see Katy in a colorful 'do. But when you think about how merely a week ago the singer was sporting a long, sleek, jet-black ponytail at the Super Bowl, it seems worth mentioning. Talk about a beauty chamelon.
2. Rita Ora
Rita Ora loves to switch her look up as well—and always turns up looking gorgeous. We can't believe how well she pulls off this platinum blonde pixie! She kept the rest of her face natural and let her dramatic smoky eye speak for itself. We especially love the silver accents in the inner corners of her eyes!
3. Madonna
Madonna showed up looking like, well, Madonna. The iconic songstress was full on matadora for her red carpet apperance—the fishnet veil only brings out those cat eyes. Nicki Minaj and Miley Cryus summed it up perfectly when they introduced the "Living for Love" singer: "She's a bada**, trouble-making international star."
4. Jennifer Hudson
Tousled pixie, sexy white dress, dewy complexion and colorful lip. Point us in the direction of Jennifer's beauty team please! The American Idol alumn looked gorgeous on the red carpet. She proves that taking a little beauty risk now and again—like she did here with that bright purple lip—can pay off.
5. Charli XCX
Ah, to be a young pop star. The "Boom Clap" singer has said she hates "boring" fashion on the red carpet. So her fuzzy, three piece suit complimented those tousled, "I woke up like this" waves didn't disappoint. The songstress let her strong brow and smudgy liner shine with a dewy complextion.
6. Sia
The Australian songwriter is notorious for shielding her face from pesky paparazzi. Not that we can blame her. The singer has been vocal about her struggles with alchoholism and social anxiety. In spite of that, her song "Chandelier" has taken the music charts by storm—she was nominated for four Grammys. So wearing an outrageous wig with her mini-me? We're not mad, especially since that bold red lip does all the talking.
7. Frankie Grande
Frankie, you never fail to impress.
