2014 has been quite an eventful year for newsworthy pop culture moments. From Ariana Grande's supposed diva antics to Kim and Kanye's over-the-top wedding, there were plenty of great moments of inspiration for our of-the-moment Halloween costumes. We've rounded up our 11 favorite costumes for 2014 so you can be on trend and pop-culture savvy all Halloweekend long!

1. The ice bucket challenge

The social media trend of the year is actually super easy to recreate on your own. All you need is a bucket labeled "ICE" and some silver tinsel attached to the rim. Add in some silver balloons as "ice cubes" and hold the bucket over your head. Bonus points if you can convince people to donate to the cause!

2. Divergent

This year's Peeta and Katniss had sci-fi fashion down to a science, and we can't wait to recreate Tris's kickass look. All you'll need is a pair of black jeans, some black boots and a black top complete with faux-leather detailing. Throw your hair up into a pony to finish it off.

3. Beyoncé

This was the year of Queen Bey, and her VMAs performance was legendary. To recreate Bey's look, all you need is some fishnet stockings and a leotard you've bedazzled with colorful fake gems. Top it off with some voluminous hair and crazy confidence, and you're good to go!

4. Frozen

We still have "Let It Go" stuck in our heads, so a Frozen costume is perfect. For Anna, rock a dark maxi dress with a cropped pink shawl. Dye one section of your hair white with temporary dye, braid your hair into two braids and finish the look off with some drawn-on freckles. For Ice Queen Elsa, you need an icy-blue maxi dress and a blonde wig braided into a single loose French braid. A purple smokey eye will complete the look.

5. Iggy Azalea

This blonde bombshell made waves on this side of the pond with her single "Fancy," and we fell in love with her sound and style. All you need for Iggy's look is a long, pin-straight blonde wig and crazy-bright pink lipstick. Pair high-waisted shorts or pants with a matching crop top, preferably in neon colors or a bright pattern. You're lookin' fancy!

6. Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande has had an amazing year, and her style makes a perfect Halloween costume. Pick out a girly skater-style dress or skirt and pair it with heels to nail the outfit. Create Ariana's signature hair by styling a half-updo and curling all of your hair. Finish the look off with some winged liner.

7. Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes and their daughter

While we're slightly depressed that Ryan Gosling is off the market, we can't wait to see his adorable daughter with the gorgeous Eva Mendes. Recruit your boyfriend or a guy friend to be the well-tailored Ryan Gosling and rock your favorite ladylike frock to embody Eva's eternal classiness. Tote around an infant doll to finish off the happy trio!

8. Pharrell and his hat

Pharrell's Smokey-Bear-inspired hat made waves this year, and it might be the simplest costume yet. All you need is a red-and-white striped tracksuit and a huge (and we mean huge) hat. Done!

9. Kendall & Kylie

2014 was the year that Kendall and Kylie and surpassed the other Kardashian sisters as the most pop-culture prominent. For your Kendall costume, part your hair down the middle and straighten it.  Rock a pair of high-waisted dark jeans and pumps paired with a cropped halter top to finish the look. To recreate the youngest Jenner's look, don a slinky white dress and pumps and temporarily dye the tips of your hair blue. Krazy kute!

10. Tinder

To recreate the dating app of the year, all you need is a giant cardborad cutout designed to look like the app! Cut out two squares and walk around with your face in one of the squares. Ask a hottie to take a pic with you to complete the look. Maybe you'll even get some digits!
