A Bride Cancelled Her Wedding After ‘Selfish’ Friends & Family Refuse To Pay $1,500 In Cash Each

At some point, I feel every bride comes to the realization that weddings are (or can be) expensive. No amount of strategic planning or DIY-ing can circumvent all expenses. They are just bound to pop up out of nowhere sometimes. Well apparently for one bride, she just could not let it go.

A woman, now identified as “Susan”, called off her wedding and broke up with her fiance after her friends and family refused to pay $1,500 to attend her “once and a lifetime party”. She then posted a long and over the top Facebook rant, in which she calls her friends “the C***S who have ruined my marriage and life." Thanks to the powers to be of social media, the post has since gone viral.

The ex-bride starts the expletive-filled post expressing her sadness for the wedding cancellation. She continues to talk about her plans to delete Facebook and travel  in South America to rid herself of the “toxic energy brought on by my friends and family.”

She and her now ex-fiance saved up $15,000 for their “extravagant blow-out” wedding, she said. A psychic (yes, a psychic) helped the couple to decide on a destination wedding in Aruba. The total cost of their wedding would have been $60,000. Its apparently “a little push”, not a big deal. The only thing is there is about $45,000 unaccounted for.

“How could we have OUR wedding that WE dreamed of without proper funding? We’d sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1,500. We talked to a few people who even promised us more to make our dream come true,” she reportedly wrote on the Facebook post. Yeah, we all can just shell out $1,500 from our back pockets. Our monthly bills be damned.

“My maid of honor pledged $5,000 along with her planning services. We tearfully thanked and accepted. My ex’s family offered to contribute $3,000. So our request for $1,500 for all other guests was not fucking out of the ordinary. Like, we made it clear. If you couldn’t contribute, you weren’t invited to our exclusive wedding.”

Obviously, it did not go over well. “Only” eight people answered yes to the couples RSVP with the demanded $1,500. Of course, Susan was livid.

“How was this supposed to happen without a little help from our friends. To make matters worse, my ex’s family took back their offer. Suddenly, more people backed out, including the C*** MAID OF HONOR. MY BEST FRIEND SINCE CHILDHOOD. MY SECOND FAMILY. I was so shocked and tearful.”

The couple then set up a Go Fund Me page, which only raised $250. Her family then told her she was being unreasonable and asking for too much.  When her ex-fiance realized they wouldn’t be able to afford their fairytale wedding, he suggested the unthinkable. Susan’s fiance asked to tie the knot in Las Vegas, and guys she was not for the idea at all. “Am I supposed to get married in the heart of shady gamblers, alcoholics and the get rich fast fallacy? Yeah, they broke up. She accused him of talking behind her back, and possibly cheating as well."

“I just wanted to be a Kardashian for a day and then live my life like normal,” she wrote, adding that her maid of honor suggested her to stick to the budget.  According to Huffington Post, someone who claims to be Susan’s cousin said that she has been “entitled,” but never “obnoxious.” In recent years, the cousin said Susan has been really into the Kardashians, social media, and designer labels. Explains the outrageous wedding plans.

Btw, even Chrissy Teigen retweeted and commented on the viral post & it is everything.

Weddings can make people do some really nutty things. So my advice to avoid a wedding catastrophe or Bridezilla moment—don’t ask your guests $1,500 in cash. Just don’’t do it.
