Twitter was ablaze yesterday after the weird revelation that the ‘poop bandit’ who had been leaving behind human feces on a New Jersey high school's campus turned out to be Kenilworth Public Schools superintendent, Thomas Tramaglini.
Local police said Tramaglini had been defecating close to Holmdel High School’s football field every day for an unspecified length of time, according to New Jersey News 12. He has been charged with lewdness, defecating in public, and littering. News 12 reports that Tramaglini has been placed on paid leave. During his absence, Academic Director Brian Luciani will take over as interim superintendent.
Tramaglini has not publicly commented on the charges, so his motive remains a mystery to everyone following the story. Many tweets compared the ‘poop bandit’ to a Scooby-Doo character, while local journalists naturally expressed disbelief that they had to write a story about a grown man defecating in a public space:

Overheard in the newsroom: "Yeah, hold on one second, I just have to publish something about a superintendent pooping."https://t.co/dxTFp106RZ

While many found the story humorous, others were shocked that Tramaglini will still be paid his full salary during his leave of absence.
"Tramaglini has taken a paid leave of absence from his $147,504 a year job in Kenilworth."
Making 150k a year and you're out there pooping on a high school football field "on a daily basis"? https://t.co/KFdujeKYN5

This story was wild from beginning to end — and no doubt we'll be watching this story as more develops.
