In the latest incident of “fake news" and dynamic facts, President Trump says everything about payments made to Story Daniels “has been said incorrectly.”
Trump now says his attorney Rudy Giuliani “will get his facts straight,” according to CNN.
This comes two days after Giuliani said in a Fox News interview that Trump repaid his personal lawyer after the lawyer made a payment of $130,000 to Stormy Daniels to get her to keep quiet about her alleged affair with Trump, the New York Times reports. But it’s NBD, Giuliani suggested, because campaign money wasn’t used for this.
Now Trump says Giuliani doesn’t really know what he’s talking about and doesn’t know enough about the situation.
“Virtually everything said has been said incorrectly, and it’s been said wrong, or it’s been covered wrong by the press,” Trump said, according to the New York Times.
On Friday, the president tried to do some damage control on his way to the NRA conference in Dallas.
Trump indicated that Giuliani spoke inaccurately. “He started yesterday,” Trump said. “He’ll get his facts straight. He’s a great guy.” https://t.co/aEJt2kROmO

Maybe you’re thinking, “Wait, hold on a sec. Didn’t Trump agree with Giuliani after the interview?”
Yes, it seems so. The morning after the Giuliani interview, Trump tweeted in support of Giuliani’s statements, according to the New York Times.
This adds to the series of conflicting statements made about the payment to Stormy Daniels. According to CNN, in the past, Trump said he didn’t know about any payment. Now, he’s said that he didn’t know about the payment, he’s agreed with Giuliani’s claims that he reimbursed his lawyer for the payment, and he’s walked back on those claims. But Trump says the story hasn’t changed, CNN reports.
“It’s actually very simple,” he said without clarifying anything, according to CNN.
