Waffle House Shooting Suspect Previously Had His Guns Confiscated
Travis Reinking, the 29-year-old man who shot and killed four people in a Waffle House in Nashville over the weekend, had reportedly been on the radar of law enforcement long before Sunday. As the New York Times reports, Reinking has a history of mental health issues, and had even previously been arrested for trying to enter White House grounds. As such, police in Illinois, where he lived at the time, revoked his firearms license and legally ordered that his father take ownership of his guns, including the AR-15 he used in the shooting. Reinking's father reportedly later returned the guns to his son, possibly breaking federal law and enabling him to commit the shooting.

Sarah Sanders Attempts to Explain Trump's "Breeding Concept" Tweet
A controversial tweet made last week by President Trump in which he said, "Soooo many Sanctuary areas want OUT of this ridiculous, crime infested & breeding concept," regained attention on Monday as reporters asked White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders for clarification on the comment, which many thought was a deragatory comment toward Latinos in California.
There is a Revolution going on in California. Soooo many Sanctuary areas want OUT of this ridiculous, crime infested & breeding concept. Jerry Brown is trying to back out of the National Guard at the Border, but the people of the State are not happy. Want Security & Safety NOW!

As The Hill reports, when pressed for explanation on the matter, Sanders explained, "No, he’s talking about the problem itself growing and getting bigger." Even as reporters hinted at the potentially problematic use of the word "breeding" and directly asked if the president was talking about, "people having babies," Sanders continued to attempt to deflect the questions. "Not that I'm aware of," Sanders reportedly responded. "I would have to ask him to be more specific."
