Melania Trump's Anti-Bullying Campaign Starts As POTUS Puts Military Widow On Blast On Social

While POTUS was busy arguing with Myeshia Johnson, FLOTUS was just getting started on her anti-bullying campaign tour. Her first stop during national “Week of Inclusion” was at Detroit Middle School where she sat with the children and had lunch with them. She spoke to them about the importance of compassion.

When POTUS won the election, Melania surprisingly chose bullying as her signature issue she would focus on as first lady. Before going into the school, Trump took a moment to address reports saying, “ By our own example, we must teach children to be good stewards of the world they will inherit. It is our responsibility to take the lead in teaching children the values of empathy and communication that are at the core of kindness, mindfulness, integrity and leadership.”

In a speech FLOTUS gave at the UN General Assembly back in September, she stated “As adults we are not merely responsible, we are accountable. I hope you will join me in recommitting ourselves to teaching the next generation to lead and honor the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them to unto you.”

Social media was quick to criticize Melania, understandably, on the irony of her own statements when the choices (and choice words) of her husband demonstrate otherwise.

According to Mrs.Trump’s director of communications, Stephanie Grisham, Melania is an independent woman. She told CNN, “Mrs. Trump is independent and acts independently from her husband. She does what she feels is right and knows that she has a real opportunity through her role as first lady to have a positive impact on the lives of children.”
