Taylor Swift Is Being Sued for the Lyrics to 'Shake It Off'

Guys, can we let Taylor Swift, and her 1989 banger "Shake It Off," live?

TMZ reports that the singer is being sued yet again over the lyrics to the song, this time by songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, who wrote the song "Playas Gon' Play" in 2001 for the girl group 3LW. Hall and Butler are claiming that 20% of Taylor's song is actually theirs, and are demanding a large sum of money for the similarities, which include the line, "Playas, they gonna play and haters, they gonna hate," in 3LW's song.

This isn't the first time this specific 1989 song has been hit with a lawsuit — in 2015, singer Jessie Graham claimed Taylor stole the lyric, "Haters gonna hate," from him. (Because, you know, it's not like it's a phrase people commonly say IRL or anything like that.) Graham's suit was dismissed by the judge.

According to Taylor's team, this latest lawsuit is going to suffer the same fate. "This is a ridiculous claim and nothing more than a money grab," her rep told People. "The law is simple and clear. They do not have a case."

If we have to guess, it looks like T-Swift will have no problem shaking this one off too. (Ha.)
