Kim Kardashian is a lot of things: supportive daughter and sister, devoted wife, loving mother, reality television star, businesswoman and fashion icon. She is also a frequent target of criticism from the general public and her fellow celebrities. Most recently, the mom of two received criticism from another celeb mom: Sharon Osbourne.
In an interview with The Telegraph, Osbourne discussed her disapproval of Kim's nude selfies, clothes and sex life. "Kim says she’s doing everything in the name of feminism, but that’s not feminism!" Osbourne said. "Those girls live off their bodies, half of L.A. has been through them and everything they do from the sex tape to the plastic see-through dresses and the gym wear is about sex, not female progress. And listen: God bless them." Harsh.
I'm unsure why Kim and her family were even a subject of conversation in this interview, which started with Osbourne discussing her personal battle with depression and her husband's affairs. Despite the off-topic talking point, Osbourne didn't hold back in her negative opinions about Mrs. Kanye West. "If Kim wants to show off her body, fine. But that’s not feminism, that’s being a ho," Osbourne continued. "And there’s nothing wrong with being a ho, but always remember what you are."
Osbourne may be preaching female progress, but last I checked slut-shaming another woman doesn't qualify as feminism either. And according to Refinery29, this isn't the first time Osbourne has come after Kim. She told PEOPLE in 2015 that Kim's selfie collection book, Selfish, was "silly," and she criticized the star for dressing her daughter North in fur.
Regardless of her impressive empire, Kim is still a human being who deserves to be respected for her success. Osbourne should try to relate to Kardashian, mother to mother, rather than bash her for her lifestyle.
