There are two kinds of Friends fans in this world: those who wanted Rachel and Ross to end up together, and those who were rooting for Rachel and Joey's fling to pull through. No matter what side you're on, Jennifer Aniston has officially given us a final answer - and, spoiler: Joey fans aren't going to be happy.
In an interview with Elle, the actress talked about her husband Justin Theroux, her *iconic* hair and most importantly, those fan theories shipping Rachel and Joey as the Friends couple that should have actually ended up together. Aniston's verdict on whether she secretly wishes her character ended up with Joey instead of Ross? She shut down the Joey and Rachel theories real quick.
"No! No, no. They tried! I think there was a moment when Joey and Rachel got together that maybe it could happened, but it didn't," she told Elle. "It was Ross and Rachel all the way. I really believe that if there's an afterworld of Friends, they're still thriving. Don't you? I just don't think Joey and Rachel could have made it. I think it was more physical than emotional with them. They were friends with benefits, and they left it at that."
So, sorry Rachel and Joey fans, but there's your answer. In case you're bummed though, let the fact that Jennifer Aniston (along with basically all of us) believes in some kind of TV parallel universe where the Friends still exist cheer you up.
