President Donald Trump’s treatment of women is always a fierce topic of discussion, and his latest snafu was when he tweeted a personal insult about MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski. But now he’s getting attention for making a remark of the opposite nature to the First Lady of France, The New York Times says.
While in France for an official visit, Trump and his wife Melania met with French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte for a tour of Paris’ Hôtel National des Invalides. The couples were standing together when Trump told First Lady Macron, “You’re in such good shape.”
Um, what?
Just when you thought the moment couldn't get any weirder, Trump then immediately turned to President Macron and said, “She’s in such good physical shape.”
Understandably so, Macron's wife looked like she wanted to keep her distance after hearing his comments, keeping Melania in between her and Trump.

The awkward encounter was captured thanks to a live stream that President Macron’s official Facebook account was running in honor of the Trumps' visit. The remark adds to the long list of President Trump’s inappropriate comments about women, most recently including Brzezinski and Irish journalist Caitriona Perry.
It's also not the first uncomfortable exchange between the American and French leaders. When he met Trump earlier this year, Macron made it clear that their intense handshake upon meeting "wasn't innocent."
The Trumps are in France for the president to find political "common ground" with Macron.
