One month ago, 16-year-old Carter Wilkerson had only 138 Twitter followers. Now, the high schooler has taken over Ellen DeGeneres' coveted spot as the person behind the most retweeted tweet in history, according to PEOPLE.
Ellen's famous tweet, a selfie with a ton of celebrities at the 2014 Oscars, has now been bumped to second place by Wilkerson, who got a whopping 3.42 million retweets.
But how did he do it?
Well, he sent a simple tweet to Wendy's asking how many retweets it would take to be given a year's worth of chicken nuggets. The company's response? 18 million. But that number didn't scare Wilkerson, who quickly started his quest for the retweets.

Although the 3.42 million retweets has left Wilkerson about 15 million away from the goal Wendy's set, the fast food company decided to give Wilkerson the year of free nuggets. TBH, for beating Ellen DeGeneres' retweet record he deserves it. Plus, Wendy's decided they would also make a $100,000 donation to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in Wilkerson's name.
Wilkerson has now been dubbed "Nugget Boy" by the internet and has over 100,000 Twitter followers. He'll continue raising money for the foundation by selling t-shirts on nuggsforcarter.com.
.@carterjwm is now the most retweeted tweet of all-time. That’s good for the nuggets, and $100k to @DTFA. Consider it done. #nuggsforcarterpic.twitter.com/k6uhsJiP4E

And the David Thomas Foundation, grateful for the donation, was quick to thank Wilkerson and his love for chicken nuggets.
Thanks to your love of nuggs, we'll be able to find more forever families for kids in foster care! Thank you @carterjwm&@Wendys!! https://t.co/GphRvusUuC

He even got to appear on Ellen, who playfully warned him not to keep breaking her records, offering him a TV and a year of Ellen underwear to back off. Now, the question is who can beat Wilkerson's record!
