If you're looking for some good news this weekend, here it is: Kylie Jenner decided to make three of our favorite Lip Kits permanent additions to her collection.
At 10 a.m. on Friday, Kylie Cosmetics welcomed back "High Maintenance" from the 2017 Valentine's Day Collection and "Vixen" from the 2016 Holiday Collection. The two Lip Kits are a mauvey pink (think classic Kylie) and a deep purple shade that is sugar plums galore, respectively.
But the final new addition to Kylie's Lip Kits is called "Boujee," which name is only reminiscent of a catchy song on the radio, not a lip product—but the color of itself looks suspiciously familiar. It's actually "Merry" from the 2016 Holiday Collection, that dark cherry red shade of liquid lipstick. She also changed the packaging from silver accents to black markings, because, ya know, the holidays are over.
Instagram users are speculating that the name change occurred in order to dissociate the Lip Kit from the holiday season and perhaps give it an edgier vibe. One user guessed it was because Kylie already has a Lip Kit called "Mary Jo K," which could be easily confused with "Merry" when said aloud. Regardless of the names, I cannot wait to explore the new shades, since I didn't get to try them during their limited release. Kylie Cosmetics has seen a host of various colors and names during the past year, including the infamous Valentine's Day Collection and the light pink "Smile" for charity.
However, some are annoyed that Kylie Jenner brought back previously limited colors, making them less special, and also deceivingly selling them now as new, instead of inventing truly new colors altogether. "Seriously sooooooooooo creative. Repackaging and Renaming old colors. Smdh," one wrote.
Multiple people begged for their favorite shades to be made permanent, namely "Angel." That is so real; we absolutely need this shade, aka the best go-to medium pink shade from Kylie's collection.
What do you think—would you rather see new Lip Kit colors or have your faves come back for good?
