While Grey’s Anatomy continues to be one of the longest running programs on television with the most devoted fans, there is no denying that a face has been missing from the series for quite a while. The show is approaching its 14th season, which will mark about three years since Sandra Oh and her iconic character Cristina Yang left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Viewers have been hoping that Sandra might reprise her role on the show one day. Oh stopped by Access Hollywood Live as part of her promo tour for her upcoming movie Catfight, where she offered up what she thinks about the possibility, and she didn’t leave fans with much hope.
“At this point… No, I don’t think so,” she said. She later elaborated, “I just don’t know. It would have to feel right.”
Explaining her reasoning, she said, “As an actor, as an artist, it’s a full life that one has. And as I look back to that time, which is extremely important and deeply meaningful to me, and it means a lot to me that a whole generation, a new generation of fans are discovering the show. So it means a lot.”
Oh did admit that she and creator Shonda Rhimes have discussed her returning at the series' end.
We will never stop believing that Cristina Yang will one day grace our television screens in scrubs again.
