Everyone knows acne is one of the worst things ever to happen to your face in your teenage years, but what do you do if you suddenly suffer from cystic acne as an adult? Model Mary Rosenberger knows this struggle all too well, and unfortunately had to learn how to continue her modeling career with her now breakout-prone skin.
After struggling through a bad breakup and realizing bad eating and drinking habits were contributing to her acne problems, Mary is finally overcoming her insecurities and getting back to her modeling career. However, it wasn't an easy path. Rosenberger had to learn how to overcome the insecurities that came with being looked at in a negative way by makeup artists on shoots, and even how to feel confident in her own skin again. "My transition was to...focus more on myself," she says in an interview with Allure. "Developing a skill or a hobby that you care about, that's what'll really bring you out of feeling un[der]confident."
Anyone who suffers from a similar acne or skin problem knows how difficult it is to get past the mental barriers the flareups can cause, but it's important to remember there are ways to get through it! Consulting a doctor and doing a little self-confidence shape-up worked for Rosenberger, and will work for you too!
