There are a lot of crazy makeup trends out there. There always have been, and there always will be. Some of them sound crazy, but actually aren't when you think about it (like digging makeup out of trash cans). But then there are some that I simply cannot understand. The latest one of these weird trends: putting a full face of makeup on your legs. Erm, what?
Yes, it's a real thing. A quick search for #thighmakeup will give you plenty of evidence that there are, like, a lot of people out there actually doing this.
I guess I'm missing the point here—why are people doing this?!? They clearly know what they're doing so it looks good, but I mean it's on your leg, so what good does that do for you?!?!
DAYUMMM that contouring though.... This leg looks better than my face, so there's that.
And legs aren't the only body parts people are doing this too. Arms are also getting the full treatment (still, for what reason, I do not know). I know people do makeup swatches on their arms, but this is just a tad extreme in my opinion:
Maybe it's just me, but when I spend $25 on foundation, $29 on my favorite eyeshadow palette, and $20 on lipstick, I am not going to waste a single drop of it, especially not on my limbs!! The only beauty product going on my thighs is sunless tanner (because good lord, they need it). But Teen Vogue's best guess is that people are practicing their mad makeup skills however they can. I guess it's easier to draw on your leg than on your face.
