The final two weeks of the Obama presidency has officially begun - and as if it wasn't hard enough to see President Obama leave, Michelle Obama's farewell speech on Friday just made us even more emotional about the Obama family's departure from the White House.

At an event to honor the 2017 School Counselor of the Year (a ceremony Obama has been in charge of since 2015, according to CNN), FLOTUS gave her final speech as first lady. On the verge of tears, she focused on delivering a message of hope to the American people, which was much-needed considering the brutal and nasty election cycle our country just witnessed.

"With a lot of hard work and a good education, anything is possible. Even becoming president," Obama said, specifically addressing young people.

FLOTUS also offered a reminder of why diversity only adds to what makes this country great, countering the significant backlash toward immigrants and minorities that we've seen throughout the past year.

"Our glorious diversity of faiths, colors, and creeds is not a threat to who we are. It makes us who we are," she said. "Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you don’t matter or like you don’t have a place in our American story."

Watch the full speech below (which begins at around 17:00), and just try to make it through without ugly crying. (Chances are, you won't.)

President Obama is expected to follow with his own farewell speech in Chicago on Tuesday, according to the New York Times. Brace yourself - we're expecting things will get just as emotional.
