Tuesday night we pranked our readers for April Fools’ Day, sending out a fake opportunity to intern for Beyoncé in our STUDY BREAK e-mail. The prank totally worked, and more than 3,000 of you fell for it! In case you haven’t subscribed to our STUDY BREAK emails yet (you can do so here!) or somehow missed our genius prank, here’s what the email said:
Position: Summer Public Relations Intern
Location: New York City, New York
Internship Description:
Interns will be working to organize and maintain the official Beyoncé archive, a digital-storage facility that contains virtually every existing photograph of her, every video of every show she's ever performed, every diary entry she's ever recorded and thousands of hours of private footage.
This internship is unpaid, but interns will receive school credit and unlimited Pepsi products during their internship. Interns will also have the opportunity to take three (3) selfies with Beyoncé over the course of the internship.
Please note that interns will be subject to a strict non-disclosure agreement in connection with their interactions with Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Blue Ivy and Solange.
Internship Responsibilities:
- Capturing onsite footage to add to Beyoncé’s archive
- Organizing and maintaining the archive
- Finding unflattering Beyoncé photos on the Internet and requesting their removal
- Keeping track of emoji music videos and videos of particularly talented toddlers dancing to Beyoncé songs to add to the archive
- Helping to compile Blue Ivy’s official baby book
- Compiling list of prominent female singers’ birthdays so Beyoncé can wish them a happy birthday on her Facebook page
- Coming up with memorable and powerful words to be printed on Beyoncé apparel
- Helping promote new Beyoncé-branded #SURFBOARTs and #BOOGIEBOARTs for her upcoming beach accessories line
- Assisting with a large-scale, top-secret project
Applicant Requirements:
- Applicants must be current college students who can receive school credit
- Prior internship experience in public relations encouraged but not required
- Strong writing, editing and communication skills
- Excellent organization skills
- Detail-oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel
- Willing to travel to various undisclosed locations
- Ability to keep large-scale projects secret
- Proficient in Facebook, Twitter, Hootsuite and creating Instagram videos
- Crazy in love with all things Queen Bey
