When I first heard about the Kylie Jenner Lip Kits I didn’t think anything of them. “Just another celebrity product,” I thought. Months went by, however, and it seemed like all anyone could talk about were Kylie’s Lip Kits. So I did what any slightly insane makeup lover would do: I bought all of them (Oops?). Curious to see whether or not these hot commodities were really worth the price? Check out my review below:
Lip Kits
Dry time: These products dry super fast and really adhere to your lips so you can say goodbye to the days of peeling strands of hair off of sticky lips.
Smell: With an overwhelming artificial vanilla scent, the scent of Kylie’s lip kits are really hit or miss. I found the smell reminded me a little too much of my middle school days (see Limited Too, rainbow braces, and Juicy Couture velour sweatsuits *cringe*).
Consistency: These products are rich and creamy going on and definitely don’t dry out your lips throughout the day. Unfortunately, the color is quick to come off after eating or drinking so definitely don’t wear these on date night.
Favorites color(s): Mary-Jo K, Candy K, True Brown K
Matte Metallics
Dry time: Just as fast as the lip kits.
Consistency: Kylie’s matte metallics definitely go on a little chunkier and thicker than her lip kits, but dry with the same smooth consistency once they're fully applied.
Favorites color(s): Reign
Lip glosses
Dry Time: N/A
Consistency: Unfortunately, these glosses were definitely not worth the money I shelled out for them. They left weird lines of pigmentation on my lips and had the same tacky consistency of glue. Not only that, but Jeffree Star was right—the lip gloss brushes definitely need to be recalled and replaced with higher quality applicators.
