Yesterday, actor Anton Yelchin was killed in a freak accident that occurred in the driveway of his Los Angeles home. The actor, who was most known for his role as Chekov in the Star Trek franchise, passed away at the age of 27. According to reports, Anton was killed after his vehicle rolled backwards, wedging him between a brick mailbox and a house fence. As the news broke on online, co-stars and other Hollywood entertainers took to social media to mourn the unexpected loss of Anton.
After hearing the news, cast members from the Star Trek films immediately shared their thoughts, and their reactions will certainly leave you heartbroken.
Justin Lin, the director of Star Trek Beyond, tweeted, "Still in shock. Rest in peace, Anton. Your passion and enthusiasm will live on with everyone that had the pleasure of knowing you." Zachary Quinto also took to social media to honor his co-star, posting a lengthy caption on Instagram.
Star Trek actors John Cho and Karl Urban shared their sentiments on Twitter, clearly in shock over the loss of their friend and colleague.
