Sarah Hyland Slams Hater Who Blasted Her for Posting a 'Naked' Photo With Wells Adams

There's nothing like a good ol' Twitter rant to get your point across—I think Sarah Hyland would agree. The Modern Family actress posted a selfie on Instagram Monday night with her no-longer-rumored boyfriend Wells Adams, in which they were laying in bed cuddling with his adorable dog Carl. Sarah and Wells appear to be naked in the pic (maybe they are, maybe they aren't). Thus, comments flooded in from Sarah's followers, and she couldn't let the negativity slide.

Two more reasons to smile again. My big & furry

A post shared by Sarah Hyland (@sarahhyland) on

On Tuesday morning, Sarah went on Twitter to call out the haters and reinforce that she can post whatever she wants. She first shared screenshots of notes from her phone. "Hey guysssss. I'm explaining myself again! Aren't you so happy???? Isn't this what Twitter is for???" she captioned the post.

The actress then explained that she likes to go through her DMs to respond to fans. "Every once in a while I'll go through my direct messages from you guys to see what you're saying and respond! Answer questions. Give advice. Or even just say hello. But I woke up too early to go to work this morning and saw this..."

Sarah posted a screenshot of the direct message. "You can go out with whoever you want," the Instagram user wrote. "But there are limits. Do not you know that some private things, must stay private, and not be shared with the whole world. KEEP YOUR SEXUAL LIFE PRIVATE, we do not necessarily need to know all the details of your personal life. SHIT!!"

In her next tweet, Sarah posted another set of notes, saying she doesn't want to put the commenter "on blast" but the message made her realize the photo could've been inappropriate. "So I just have to say I'm so sorry…FOR POSTING AN ADORABLE PICTURE BECAUSE CARL WAS ACTING LIKE THE NUGGETIEST SNUGGLE BUG!"

All jokes aside, Sarah switched gears to let fans know she actually wants to keep her relationship private. "I do want my privacy," she said. "Especially in my relationships. I've made the mistake in the past on being way too open and talking way too much about them. This time is different. It's special. And I will share what I [deem] 'appropriate' on social media because I still want you all to be updated…You’re people who have had chronic illnesses, eating disorders, [troubled] family situations that Modern Family helps you get through. People who share their stories with me and I love you all for that. So thank you for always [being] so wonderful." How sweet of her, right?

Sarah ended her series of notes with a reminder for anyone that has a problem with nudity. "ONE MORE THING! I just realized I’m being criticized for being naked… which you don’t even know if I am! You can barely see any skin but it’s ok for Instagram models to roll around in the sand ACTUALLY naked? (I mean I’d post that too if I looked like that.) My point is don’t be hypocrites. Either be conservatives on all fronts or FREE THE NIPPLE." Yes, girl! I'm glad she stood up for herself on this one.

Sarah later tweeted, "I think I really just LOVE a good clap back." You tell 'em, Sarah.

I love Sarah and Wells together, and I say keep the cute posts coming.

5 People Are Dead & Several School Children Injured After Shooting Near Elementary School

After shootings in multiple locations took place early this morning in California, including at an elementary school, five people are reported dead, CBS News reports.

The tragic shooting took place earlier today in Tehama County, California when the shooter — who was shot and killed by officers — reportedly started firing at Rancho Tehama Elementary School just before 8 a.m. this morning.

“I know that we have [airlifted] a number of students,” Tehama County Assistant Sheriff, Phil Johnson, told the Los Angeles Times.

Thankfully, there are no reported deaths at the elementary school. However, Fox 5 News reports that students as young as six were caught in the shooters line of fire. While the remaining students were able to be evacuated from the school and only two students were wounded, victims from the other sites weren’t as fortunate.

According to Fox 5 News, the shootings started at home prior to the attack on the elementary school, where the gunman stole a neighbor's truck and killed the same neighbor's roommate.

Johnston told Fox 5 News that his officers recovered a semiautomatic rifle and two handguns from the shooter. He adds that there are more than 100 officers at several crimes scene locations in Tehama County.

“I thought this only happens to places like L.A. or New York,” the owner of La Fortune Convenience told the LA Times. While this rural town in Northern California might not have a high crime rate, mass shootings aren't a problem exclusive to metro areas

Law enforcement officers are reportedly continuing to investigate the multiple shooting sites.

In a statement, California Gov. Jerry Brown offered condolences and words of support to Tehama County: "Anne and I are saddened to hear about today's violence in Tehama County, which shockingly involved schoolchildren. We offer our condolences to the families who lost loved ones and unite with all Californians in grief."

Kylie Jenner & Kim Kardashian Reportedly Had Their Baby Showers the Same Weekend

The Kardashians spent the weekend doing what they do best: celebrating life, looking fabulous, and blessing the world with a front row seat to the extravagancies of their lives via social media. Both Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian held baby showers over the weekend, PEOPLE reports. Kim's was extensively decorated and highly documented, while Kylie kept things low-key, as she's done throughout her reported pregnancy

Beautiful day celebrating @kimkardashian and her on the way. Felt like we were in a beautiful forest with lots of .

A post shared by MARIA MENOUNOS (@mariamenounos) on

Kim and hubby Kanye West are expecting their third child via surrogate this winter. To celebrate her daughter on the way, the mom decked out her home with cherry blossom trees, stunning flower arrangements and samples of her new KKW fragrance. The elegant celebration was attended by sisters Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie, mom Kris Jenner, family friend Maria Menounos, and fellow mommy friend Chrissy Teigen, among others.

A source told PEOPLE Kylie's "pajama party"-themed shower occurred the following day.

While the source said Kylie had been planning her event for a while, Kim's shower was more of a spur-of-the-moment decision. Apparently guests received their invitations earlier that week, and both showers were only attended by family and close friends. Isn't it a coincidence that the sisters threw their baby showers on the same weekend? Could it be that Kim's widely publicized party was a cover-up for Kylie's more private gathering?

As badly as I need to know the truth about Kylie's pregnancy, I wish I'd gotten an invitation to Kim's shower even more. And when does Khloé get her baby shower? One thing's for sure: The Kardashians sure know how to throw a party.

Taylor Swift Did the Sweetest Thing for Jimmy Fallon After His Mom's Passing

Jimmy Fallon returned to The Tonight Show on Monday night for the first time since his mother Gloria passed away. The host began the night with an emotional tribute to his mom, thanking his viewers for their support and telling his mother, "I'll never stop trying to make you laugh. I love you." As if there weren't enough wet eyes in the house, Taylor Swift sang a new song off Reputation for a last-minute performance to help Jimmy cope with his loss.

In a Twitter thread, Tonight Show producer Mike DiCenzo explained the significance of Monday night's show for both Jimmy and the entire crew, Refinery29 reports. He began, "A few words about tonight's show. It was our first show back after Jimmy's mom passed away..."

"It was a really tough day for our whole staff," he wrote. "A lot of us knew his mom Gloria, and she was the best. The best. She loved the show, she loved all of us, and most of all, she loved Jimmy. They talked on the phone every day. As Jimmy said, she was his biggest fan."

DiCenzo then drew attention to a story Jimmy told about his mother at the beginning of the show, sharing how she would squeeze his hand three times and say, "I love you." Not only had the crew never heard that story before, but a line in Taylor's "New Year's Day" is literally, "Squeeze my hand three times in the back of the taxi." The producer called it "a beautiful coincidence in a beautiful performance." Cue the goosebumps.

DiCenzo explained that Taylor's appearance was a last-minute request. "First, a quick word about Taylor Swift. She was not scheduled to do our show today. But we wanted something special for this first show back, so we asked her on a complete whim, since she had been in town doing SNL. She said yes with zero hesitation... Whatever you think of Taylor, she did something beautiful for Jimmy and our show today, and we're forever grateful."

As badly as Taylor wants to transform her image, it's clear that she is still very much the singing sweetheart the world has come to love. Even though her performance and Jimmy's words are making me ugly-cry, the gesture is too sweet to not watch.

Why I'm Still a Fan of These Shows Despite the Sexual Harassment Allegations Surrounding Them

$

In recent weeks, sexual harassment and assault allegations against some of Hollywood’s biggest names have dominated the news. As an entertainment editor, I’ve read all the accusations and the responses in excruciating detail. Many of the accused are people that I’m fully aware of but, nonetheless, not a fan of. Ed Westwick of Gossip Girl fame, Andrew Kreisberg—executive producer of The CW’s Arrowverse lineup—and One Tree Hill and The Royals showrunner Mark Schwahn are the exceptions for me.

Looking back on how I felt about these three men before allegations were brought against them, I’m not sure I should’ve called myself a fan. I never really knew enough about them to be a fan of theirs. But I was, and still am, a fan of their work. I can’t tell you how many glowing words I’ve written about Chuck Bass, One Tree Hill, The Royals, Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow. These shows and characters shaped my understanding of the world; they influenced how I feel about love, friendship, feminism—the list goes on.

Now that I have an idea of how these men have treated women throughout their professional careers, I can’t look at some of my favorite shows the same way again—and that’s a good thing. I applaud every woman who has come forward to tell her story. I’ve been beating myself up for admiring Westwick, Kreisberg and Schwahn’s work. How could I miss this? But also, how could I have known it? Without the women who were courageous enough to speak up—with everything to lose—we would have no idea about the behavior these men in positions of power have been getting away with. Not only should no victim have to live in silence, but no man should be allowed to harass and assault people with the assumption that it’ll stay secret. I’m grateful to these women for shining a light on the corruption that has made this type of behavior possible and for holding Westwick, Kreisberg, Schwahn and many, many others accountable.

I’ve seen a lot of fans jumping to defend the men who’ve been accused of sexual harassment and assault. I believe in innocent until proven guilty—I can’t fault you there—but I also believe in believing women. We can’t discount or choose not to believe victims just because we’re fans of the accused’s work. Truth be told, we don’t know these men—we know their work. And while their shows may resonate with us, that doesn’t void the allegations against them.

So, where do we go from here? I won’t be boycotting Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The Royals or any of the Arrowverse shows. Because I think it’s important to uplift the women and men that make these productions great.

There’s Kara Danvers. Melissa Benoist’s take on Supergirl has been such a source of joy and hope for me as a viewer.

Really there are countless women within the Arrowverse to fangirl over: Felicity Smoak, Sara Lance, Caitlin Snow, Alex Danvers, Iris West. Additionally, the actresses behind those characters recently launched a social media initiative called Shethority for women to talk about their lives and support each other.

Brooke Davis. Brooke remains iconic for being a complicated woman we could look up to—raw and vulnerable one minute, tough as nails the next. Sophia Bush has also become an outspoken advocate and trusted voice for women.

All the women and men of One Tree Hill who’ve spoken out and banded together in light of this information becoming public deserve our respect. As the female cast and crew members wrote in a letter, they’ve reclaimed their OTH experience within their friend group and through fan conventions. We can do the same thing.

Blair Waldorf. She had her faults, but her tenacity continues to inspire young women who charge forward to make things happen.

And let’s not forget the women who write, produce, direct, and hold a myriad of other behind-the-scenes positions. Though we may not see their faces, they are just as integral to making our favorite shows possible.

This is likely only the beginning of the swell of sexual harassment and assault allegations we’ll be hearing about. It’s important to not let your allegiance to a fandom skew your perception of the situation, but also not let the wrongdoing of one individual ruin your connection to something you love. Above all else, let’s work to be supportive of the women and men who are telling their stories. Whether they work behind-the-scenes or are the stars of the show, they’re the ones we should be fans of.

7 Careers You Should Consider If You Love the Humanities

Declaring your major is a daunting task. The questions around coursework and books are overwhelming, but the fear about what you can do with your degree post-grad is enough to make you crawl back into bed and avoid class in general. However, the skills that come with a degree can go beyond the obvious. For humanities majors, careers in teaching and writing are clear choices, but we've compiled seven professions you may not have thought of pursuing with your humanities degree.

1. Lawyer

As a lawyer you'll be forced to read cases, analyze them and then advise clients as you guide them through the legal system. Having a solid background and understanding in the humanities can certainly help you. Hannah Harshe, a sophomore at the University of Michigan, recounts her mom's acceptance into law school, saying, "My mom majored in Latin and ended up getting into law school. She thinks that being a Latin major actually helped her a lot because there were probably a ton of poli sci majors applying to law school, but how many Latin majors were there? It makes you stand out in the crowd." So, fret not humanities majors, your degree is valuable and waiting to be used.

2. Event planner

It's no secret that humanities majors have a large course load. From papers to readings and presentations, you're forced to be organized and stay on top of every aspect of your life. You can channel that creativity, passion and determination into planning events and parties. Shannon Tatum, a senior at Florida State University, says, "A friend of mine double majored in English and philosophy and is now a wedding planner. She says taking on such a heavy course load that required a lot of attention to detail has really helped her in her career." Whether you see yourself planning parties, weddings or corporate events, your humanities degree will certainly benefit you in this field.

3. FBI Agent

An FBI agent might seem like a career fit for only a criminal justice major, but the FBI needs employees to decipher and write content for them daily. Tamara Yuling, a career counselor at Bowie State University, says, "The FBI does so much more than people think. Many of their employees work in office and code, transcribe and spend their time researching. Having a degree in English or literature is very useful for a job like this." So, while you might not be hunting down the bad guys in person, you can certainly know you're helping in some way.

4. Genealogist

Calling all history buffs, if your passion lies in understanding cultures and where people come from, consider becoming a genealogist. Your career involves connecting and tracing the lines of cultures and family ties. Katherine Anderson, a recent graduate of Appalachian State University, says, "I majored in anthropology in hopes of working in a field that allows me to study past cultures of my ancestors. By majoring in something that was time intensive and required a lot of discipline, I’m confident I'll succeed in my career."

5. Public relations associate

Working in public relations is all about building relationships and providing your clients with the best possible service. With the need for interpersonal communication skills and having the ability to understand human nature, consider using your degree in the humanities to explore this career.

6. Speech Writer

It's no secret a speech writer is a vital tool in a politicians arsenal. So, combine your communications and writing skills into one profession and help others wow an audience. Tamara Yuling suggests, "Speech writing is a very specific skill and honing in on it and perfecting it is something I've seen humanities majors do really well. Being that they are well versed in literature, history and the arts, they're a more well rounded candidate for the position." So, do you think you have what it takes?

7. Social Service Worker

A large part of a social workers job is writing reports and communicating with families. While the day to day stories and people you encounter will change, the core of your role will be to analyze and determine the best possible outcome for families and children. A humanities degree has given you the diversity of learning, so apply that to this role.
Humanities majors are not just good students, but they're incredible writers and communicators. So, take these skill sets and put them to good use in any one of these careers. As always, good luck collegiettes!

A Third Woman Has Come Forward With Sexual Assault Allegations Against Ed Westwick

Following allegations made last week by actresses Kristina Cohen and Aurélie Wynn that former Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick raped them, a third woman has come forward saying Westwick sexually assaulted her.

As BuzzFeed News reports, Eck, who was 23 at the time, says she was invited by her ex-boyfriend Australian film producer Kaine Harling to hang out with him and Westwick one night in 2014 at a fancy Los Angeles hotel. Hoping to get back with her ex, Eck arrived at the Sunset Marquis in Hollywood at around 2:30 a.m, where things took a turn for the worse. According to Eck, allegedly asked Eck to invite a friend to join them, but Eck wasn't able to get ahold of any of her friends since it was late.

"When I didn’t bring a girl for him he turned his sights on me," Eck told BuzzFeed.

Multiple times throughout that night, Eck says Westwick would "try to kiss me or kind of push me up against the wall," even when she pushed him off and told him she was dating Harling. To make matters worse, Harling allegedly told Eck that the actor "didn't mean it," when she tried to tell her ex-boyfriend what was going on. When Eck told Harling she was leaving, Harling lead her to a bedroom, saying Westwick wanted to apologize.

Once they reached the bedroom, Eck says Westwick immediately repeated his previous behavior. "Ed then pulled me onto the bed and aggressively groped me," she told BuzzFeed . "I shoved him off as quickly as I could and left."

While Westwick has yet to respond to Eck's allegations, he has denied both Cohen and Wynn's previous accusations, calling them, "unverified and provably untrue social media claims."The LAPD is currently investigating all allegations brought against Westwick as a result of a police report filed by Cohen last week. The three stories are eerily similar, and it's worth noting that Kaine Harling has allegedly been present for two incidences of Westwick's sexual misconduct, as Cohen revealed to the Hollywood Reporter that her anonymous ex-boyfriend, who was with her and Westwick on the night the allegedly actor raped her, was in fact Harling.

As a result of the first two allegations, the BBC previously announced Friday that it was putting Westwick's new miniseries on hold "until these matters are resolved."

Australia Has Voted in Favor of Legalizing Same-Sex Marriage

On Tuesday, Australians voted overwhelmingly in favor of same-sex marriage, paving the way for the Australian parliament to officially legalize same-sex marriage, The New York Times reports.

Following the vote, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull called for same-sex marriage to be legalized before Christmas. "The Australian people have spoken, and they have voted overwhelmingly 'yes' for marriage equality," Turnbull said. "They voted 'yes' for fairness, they voted 'yes' for commitment, they voted 'yes' for love."

12.7 million Australians took part in voting in the survey, which is roughly 79.5 percent of the voting-age population in the country. 61.6 percent of them voted yes and 38.4 voted no, according to the Times

People celebrated with confetti and rainbow-colored smoke in Melbourne after the result of the vote was announced, with hundreds of people cheering and tearfully hugging.

"This is our proudest moment as gay and lesbian Australians," Chris Lewis, an artist celebrating in Melbourne, told the Times. "Finally I can be proud of my country."

While the vote only paves the way for marriage equality and doesn't necessarily guarantee legalization, Dean Smith, an Australian federal senator, said he had plans to immediately introduce a bill in Parliament, and that he believes it will have enough votes to pass legislation. Legalizing gay marriage would make Australia one of the last English-speaking countries in the world to finally allow marriage equality, CNN reports.

The Internet Is Losing It Over the New Rose Gold Starbucks Merch

In case you somehow haven't noticed, millennial pink is having a moment — and despite naysayers who say lilac and yellow are the new reigning "it" colors, Starbucks is making the case for millennial pink to stick around just a little longer.

As Cosmopolitan noticed, the Internet is basically having a collective freakout over new rose gold and millennial pink merch that dropped in Starbucks stores around sometime last week. Users have been taking to Twitter and Instagram to share photos of new Starbucks cold cup tumbler designs in millennial pink, rose gold sparkles and pink sequins as well as complementary neutral shades of silver and white.

In short, you're going to want every single one (as if you didn't own enough travel mugs already.)

Oh my sequins!! Currently on my CHRISTmas wish list!!

A post shared by Carrissa ♡ (@ghostiebun) on

The only catch? It unfortunately appears none of the new cups are available online meaning you'll have to scour your local Starbucks stores if you want to get your hands on one. With the holidays coming up, they could definitely make for some great gift options for the coffee or millennial pink addict in your life — or, you know, as a treat for yourself. (We won't judge!)

5 Ways to Practice Self-Care During College Application Season

$

College application season is tough when you’re in high school. You have your dream school that you’re dying to go to, and you’re scared of not getting in. You have this weird feeling no university will accept you, and you’ll somehow end up homeless and eating left over cold fries from a McDonald’s dumpster. Fear not! You’re young, and even if you don’t get accepted to the school you want, you can always transfer if you bust your butt later in college. But you must remember, your self-love and mental health should always come first.

"Sometimes we let our deadlines become most important and above our own mental and physical health. I get motivated to want to care for me and not my deadlines [That's how] I remind myself I’ll probably do a better job at all my work and deadlines if I make sure I’m good first," says Stephanie Cardenas, a student at PACE School of Performing Arts.

Everything will figure itself out in the end, so here are five ways to keep the stress from building up.

1. Get organized

By now you probably know the drill--copies of your social security, a valid ID, your address, etc. Before you go crazy applying to different places, make a huge file on your computer with all the personal information you know you might need for future applications. Create a spreadsheet with your address, name and other information typed out, so you can easily copy and paste them into online applications. But don't forget to take small breaks while doing this instead of over-working yourself--remember, this is supposed to help with the process and clear your head.

It may be tedious for the time you’re doing it, but you’ll thank yourself later when it only takes you 10-15 minutes to complete another application. This may not be your typical “treat yoself” kind of thing, but it will keep your stress from boiling over. Try keeping a copy of the master file on a USB. That way you can also get more applications done during free time at school.

2. Go outside

The sun may burn your skin when you leave your room or library, but there’s no better cure for stress than some fresh air. Go for a walk or play some friendly sports with friends! Sitting alone at home will keep you from some good memories with your friends.

Valentina Rodriguez-Zapata, a fashion design major at Parsons School of Design, says "Make sure to stretch for [ten] minutes and walk around [and] go out for fresh air every two to three hours of work. Very simple things that will make a world of a difference."

It’s especially important because you may not get to see for a while since they might be going to different schools. Fresh air will clear your mind and keep you from going crazy. Maybe while you’re out there, bring a notebook and pencil. Sit in the shade and write a list of things you need to get done. And while you’re walking around or just sitting there, think about how you can accomplish these things within your certain number of days until your deadline! That way you can feel productive while still taking care of yourself.

Related: 7 Easy Ways to Practice Self-Care

3. Treat yourself to a spa day

There’s nothing more relaxing than peeling dead skin off your face. You don’t have to spend money on a spa day at some expensive place--you can always hit up your local pharmacy, stock up on yummy skin care products and spend a whole afternoon just taking care of your face. With all the stress going on in your life, you’re bound to get a few stray pimples, and taking care of your skin will keep them from spreading like wild fire.

Náosha Gregg, a collegiette at CUNY Kingsborough, shares a self-care routine that doesn’t just stop at facial scrubs. “I like to use a facial scrub to clean the dirt and oil out of my pores,” she says. “I take a nice hot shower [for] stress relief and curl up with a good book [and a cup of hot chocolate], under some blankets.”

In addition to skin care, you should also remember to take time to do things you enjoy. For Náosha, that’s reading. Some people knit or watch movies. Whatever it is that you enjoy, make time from your busy schedule to practice it! You can even do it while the weird concrete-like material is drying on your face.

4. Get active

Everyone’s first instinct when they’re stressed is to reach out for some yummy food and binge eat. Do you want to get your freshman fifteen while you’re still a senior? The answer is probably not. Running and lifting weights is a great way to get your mind of things and release some steam.

Believe it or not, there are actually some pretty fun ways to get active. Set a goal for yourself by signing up for a 5K or half-marathon. Or if you don’t want to put so much pressure on yourself, there’s a fun app called “Zombies, Run!” That will simulate a zombie apocalypse and help you run away from hungry walkers. Not convinced yet? Place your phone in front of a cycle machine and catch up on your favorite shows while toning your legs. The possibilities are endless, and you’re practicing beneficial self-care instead of indulging and feeling bad about it later!

5. Take a road trip

A road trip doesn’t have to be to some far-off place. It could be to a local attraction or park, as long as it’s something to look forward to during the week. Just let it be somewhere where you can go without thinking about applications or exams. Convince your only friend with a driver’s license to take you! Bring along some other BFFs to make some cool memories of your last year in high school. Your friends may be going through the same amount of stress as you, so it’ll be a great getaway for you and your buddies.

“During college application season, it may seem as though you need to spend every moment working on your apps or planning them out,” says Rachna Shah, a freshman at Dartmouth College. “However, you only have your senior year of high school once. Try to plan an exciting event or something that you're looking forward to at the end of every week to help keep perspective and keep you motivated.”

Take advantage of being young and care free. In the long-run, this will seem like nothing compared to other types of stress you’ll be exposed to in your first couple of years in college.

Don’t get caught up with applications when there’s so many things you should be enjoying now while you have the time. On the same token, don’t waste too much time doing things that won’t benefit you in the future. It’s important to practice self-care, but don’t indulge yourself and avoid responsibilities. While you’re on this journey of growing up, you’ll know the importance of time management and how to avoid unnecessary stress and anxiety build-up. Everything is a balance, and it’s important to practice it now and master it before college.

31 Signs You Mistakenly Believe Your Life is Together

$

Sometimes you want something so bad that you trick yourself into believing it’s within reach. Like being able to afford traveling the world, eventually marrying Zac Efron and kicking ass at this whole adulting thing. Unfortunately, most of your cash is going to student loans, your dating record consists of Tinder creeps and this whole “adulting” thing is kicking your ass instead. Here are some other ways that you probably convince yourself you’ve got it all together, when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

1. You put on pants multiple days in a row.

Well, you had work (AKA no choice), but still, that has to count for something.

2. You carry a planner with you at all times.

Even though it's mostly filled with doodles instead of to-do lists.

3. You own (and sometimes even wear) workout clothes…

But don’t actually work out in them.

4. You pride yourself on never leaving your place without a book or magazine.

Girl, you know the most you read on a daily basis is the label on your Starbucks order.

5. You plan a bunch of productive activities.

Like: eating, sleeping and finally catching up on Luke Cage

6. You made your bed this morning.

Which may explain why you ended up jumping right back into it and napping for three hours.

7.You drink wine out of an actual glass, rather than a cup.

Oh you fancy, huh?

8. You reduce clutter by placing crap in random places.

How else would seven bobby pins and a voodoo doll of your ex end up in your laundry bin?

9. You’re not ashamed of inviting friends over, despite your messy room.

Even though everyone jokes that it looks like a set piece from Stranger Things.

10. You figure that a healthy meal cancels out eating an unhealthy snack.

Green smoothie for breakfast? You deserve an entire sleeve of cookies as a reward!

11. You enjoy baking, which makes you totally domesticated.

It also gives you an excuse to eat raw cookie dough like the wild, sweet-toothed animal you are.

12. You make it a point to donate items you don't want anymore.

Giving back feels good…and so does making room for the things you DO want.

13. You post about any social gathering you went to recently.

Truthfully, you only bothered to go because you knew there'd be cute people and free food.

14. You can make takeout last for more than a week.

If that doesn’t make you a superhero, you don’t know what will.

15. Most of your clothes smell clean even though you haven’t washed them.

Then again, you've probably adjusted to the scent of filth and laziness.

16. You’ve convinced yourself that drunk-bar dancing counts as cardio.

Pouring in shots while pouring out sweat. It's a win-win.

17. You occasionally update your LinkedIn profile.

Just not as much as you monitor your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat.

18. You own a beautiful, decorative plant.

But not a real one—otherwise that shit would die.

19. No one else knows your Netflix password.

You may not always drink responsibility (see #16), but at least you date responsibly.

20. You factor naps into your recommended eight hours of sleep.

Your parents would be so proud.

21. You do lots of “work” in local coffee shops.

Which basically means: surfing the internet and people-watching while you inhale your macchiato.

22. You cut back on alcohol, excluding special occasions.

Like happy hours, work events, watching the presidential debates…basically, perfect excuses to drink.

23. Most of the produce you bought last week hasn’t died in your fridge yet.

This is why you only buy non-perishables like trail mix and chips SMH.

24. You can cook without burning the food…or yourself.

Even though nine out of 10 times you’ll say screw it and eat cereal instead.

25. You always manage to find lost items just in time.

It’s not your fault your wallet and keys grow legs and frequently run away from you.

26. You create a budget and stick to it…mostly.

You just can't resist a makeup palette that screams INDULGE at you.

27. You incorporate veggies into your diet.

If a pizza has spinach leaves and tomato sauce, that counts as a serving, right?

28. You prioritize important appointments.

Hair and nails today, doctor and dentist…eventually.

29. You’re easy to get a hold of.

Which means you get yelled at for always being on your phone. Sigh.

30. You don’t go to work with a hangover…often.

This means you’re maturing into a real adult, right?

31. You match your bra with your underwear.

You’ve got to do something to make it seem like you have your shit together when you don’t.

Name: Sabrina Mallick Peterson
Age: 35
Job Title and Description: Co-Founder & CEO Pure Growth Organic
College Name/Major: Princeton University, AB Politics
Website: PureGrowthOrganic.com
Instagram Handle: @puregrowthorganic

What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

Sabrina Peterson: The days are hectic and require a lot of energy and focus. Some days are more product focused, where we’re trying new samples, tweaking recipes. Other days are spent deep diving into the numbers, figuring out ways to improve margin and rethinking budget allocations. Others are managing partner relationships from studios to sourcing relationships. And some are marketing and sales focused where we think of how to best reach and delight our customer digitally and also at retail. I touch every inch of the business, which I love but it can be mentally exhausting as well.

What is the best part of your job?

SP: My team. They are bright, honest, curious and just decent good people you want in your lifeboat.

What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?

SP: Analyst, Fixed Income at Citigroup. Fall of my senior year, I started interviewing at the last minute with the financial firms recruiting on campus. I got two offers and chose Citigroup.

What words of wisdom do you find most valuable?

SP: “Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it.”

What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?

SP: To fight harder for the things you really believe in. I’ve assumed people have known better because they’ve been louder and more blindly confident in their choices or have had more tangential experience than I do––turns out stupidity can also be loud, blindly confident and experienced.

What has been the most surreal moment of your career thus far?

SP: Walking into retail and seeing a product (that was merely an idea not too long ago) sitting on the shelves next to brands I admire.

What do you look for when considering hiring someone?

SP: Grit, humility, stamina, humor, curiosity, honesty––that can’t be learned on the job. Everything else can.

What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?

SP: Work for people with integrity that genuinely look out for you and don’t have something to prove, and/or work somewhere where you can learn a lot or have the opportunity to teach yourself. When you stop learning, or if you don’t see a future you’re excited about, it’s time to move on. I have had phenomenal mentors and advisors throughout the majority of my career. And lastly, when I wake up three weeks in a row not excited about what I’m doing or who I’m doing it with, I know it’s time to move on. Knowing when to leave is as important as knowing when to dive in.

What's the one thing that's stood out to you the most in a resume?

SP: People taking entrepreneurial risks, people solid enough to stick at the same firm be continually promoted.

HC Wake-Up Call: Congresswoman Says 2 Congress Members Are Sexual Harassers, GOP Is Tries to Add a Repeal of Obamacare into Tax Bill & Forever 21 May Have Been Hacked

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

This Congresswoman Says at Least 2 Current Congress Members Are Sexual Harassers

Representative Jackie Speier, a Democrat from California, said in a testimony before the House Administration Committee on Tuesday, that there are two currently-serving members of Congress that are sexual harassers. While she did not name the members, Speier says one is a Democrat and one is a Republican, the Huffington Post reports. Speier also revealed in her testimony that she has heard of women, "having their private parts grabbed on the House floor." Speier's testimony was part of a hearing on sexual assault and harassment in Congress on Tuesday, where multiple female members of the House of Representatives shared their own stories of sexual harassment on Capitol Hill.

Senate GOP Members Are Trying to Add the Repeal of Obamacare into the Tax Bill

On Tuesday, Senate GOP members said they would use their tax bill to repeal Obamacare, the Washington Post reports. While the move would free up $300 billion in government funding over the next decade, it would also leave 13 million people without health insurance, and increase insurance premiums for many Americans by 10 percent. Not to mention the fact that the GOP's attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act have been unpopular and unsuccessful in the past, meaning it could hurt the tax bill's chances of passing.

Forever 21 May Have Been Hacked, So That's Not Great

If you've hit Forever 21 for a shopping spree any time in the last few months, you may want to keep an eye on your bank statement. According to BuzzFeed News, Forever 21 may have been hit with a data breach affecting its card payment systems. The store says there might have been, "unauthorized access to data from payment cards that were used at certain Forever 21 stores," between March and October of this year. While Forever 21 did not respond to BuzzFeed's request for comment, it has said it is investigating the matter and that customers should monitor their credit card statements for unauthorized charges.

Trump Is Getting Heat For Posting Condolences For The Wrong Mass Shooting

On Tuesday night, POTUS tweeted, “May God be with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI and Law Enforcement has arrived.” Twitter was furious, and not just for the glaring grammatical error. (The FBI and Law Enforcement have arrived, but we’ll forgive you on that one.) The real reason for Twitter’s fury is the fact that the shooting in Sutherland Springs was over a week ago. Since Tuesday’s mass shooting was in northern California, it appears that Trump has a template for tweets about mass shootings — and he forgot to switch out the location.

With a chaotic and heartbreaking news cycle that seems always to be full of mass shootings, natural disasters and sexual assault allegations, it can be difficult to keep everything straight. However, you’d think that the President of the United States would at least be able to fake that he’s aware of what’s going on in his country. (Actually, I take that back. I forgot who I was talking about for a second there.)

It’s alarming just how bad Trump is at protecting his public image. There are plenty of politicians with questionable ideologies or iffy campaign promises. However, nobody even comes close to rivaling Trump’s ability to put his foot in his own mouth. It’s never taken much effort for Americans to find things to criticize Trump for–he finds them for us, really, and he has done so since the beginning of his term. Right off the bat, Trump delivered an inaugural speech that reportedly prompted George W. bush to say, “That was some weird shit.” (Touché, W.) and Trump’s weirdness hasn’t declined since then.

Earlier this week, he tweeted that Kim Jong Un is “short and fat”, but also that he wants to “be his friend.” And now, this tweet that offers condolences for the wrong mass shooting. Many Americans, Republicans and Democrats alike, agree that when it comes to presenting himself to the public, Donald J. Trump is just off.

But maybe the most disconcerting thing about this tweet is that mass shootings occur so frequently in our country that it’s possible to mix them up. California marks America’s 317th mass shooting in 2017, and the US leads the nations in mass shootings. Although it’s easy to joke around about Trump’s incompetence when it comes to social media, we can’t allow it to distract us from the real issues. It is sadly almost guaranteed that Trump will have another opportunity to tweet his condolences to the victims of a mass shooting —but it'll be deeply upsetting if he can't direct them to the right people.

Cards Against Humanity Has A 'Time Consuming'&'Expensive' Plan To Stall Trump's Border Wall & It's Kind Of Brilliant

If you’ve ever taken a US government class, then you’re aware that there are several forms of political participation available to us as citizens of the United States. You can vote, you can run for office, you can write a letter to your representative. Oh, and you can play Cards Against Humanity.

In the sold-out holiday promotion “Cards Against Humanity Saves America”, you can pay $15 to receive six "America-saving surprises" in the month of December. What are we saving America from, exactly? “Injustice, lies, racism, the whole enchilada,” according to its website. Fair, fair.

The first surprise you receive from the promotion is a plot of land on the U.S. Mexico border.

"Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans. He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing," Cards Against Humanity Saves America writes on its website.  "So we’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built."

Pretty genius, if you ask me.

If you have any questions, this inspiring video should clear them up for you and also possibly leave you laughing so hard you pee your pants. Oh, America, what have you come to?

Honestly, is it any surprise that Cards Against Humanity would ultimately be in charge of saving the country? I feel like it’s already saved us several times, just by providing us with something to laugh about as our country falls down in shambles around us. Sometimes that’s all you can ask for.

Nicki Minaj Wears the Cutest Mom Sweater In Her New H&M Commercial & Nobody Can Deal

Nicki Minaj recently released a teaser video for her new H&M holiday clothing collection, and everyone is going wild. Though it's not unusual for Nicki's fans to swoon over everything she does, this time Nicki's new role and new look have everyone shook. Unlike the usual outrageously bold and sexy outfits that she typically wears, this time she's in a turtleneck and sweats for the ad (alongside Grey's Anatomy hospital hunk, Jesse Williams).

We just can't believe that Nicki looks so...wholesome. Neither can her Twitter followers either––but they seem to be supportive of her mom role.

Nicki also left us with a few behind-the-scenes videos of the commercial with her adorable co-star while in Prague, Czech Republic. We can see Nicki sporting a low-cut, bedazzled outfit that looks more like her traditional style.

She was so good. Can’t wait for you guys to see her in the full H&M holiday commercial. Prague tingz

The full holiday commercial is set to air on November 28. Until then, follow Nicki Minaj on Instagram.

I Stopped Obsessing Over Boys & Focused On Other Things

I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ve never had a boyfriend. I am a little ashamed to admit that it has been somewhat of a priority for me to get a boyfriend. You may label me as boy crazy, and you wouldn’t be the first to do so. Maybe it’s because I’ve never had a boyfriend, but I have always been a little obsessed with boys. I like looking at them, talking about them and just generally thinking about them.

A couple of weeks ago, however, I decided that this constant fixation needed to end. I realized that there are so many more important things to worry about and think about and just put my time and energy into than boys. Plus, when the time comes, I know I’ll happily be in a relationship. Until I meet the right person, though, I’m going to focus on more important things. Here are some things we can do instead of obsessing over boys.

Instead of stalking that cute guy from your class on Facebook, leave some love in the comments of your friends’ posts.

We’re all guilty of cyber-stalking cute boys—don’t even try to deny it. Next time you log onto Facebook or Instagram to stalk said cute boys, however, type in your bestie’s name instead. Take some time to look through her cute pics and posts and comment with some love on a couple of them. Your bestie has been there for you through thick and thin, and all this boy has done for you is given you something nice to look at for an hour three times a week.

Instead of staring at that cute guy across the dining hall, pay attention to the conversation you’re actually a part of.

We’ve all been there. You’re sitting with a group of your friends, immersed in conversation about classes or, of course, boys, when you see a cutie across the way. You suddenly stop paying attention to the conversation that’s happening right in front of you. Instead, you’re watching this guy, wondering what he’s like, waiting for the moment (that probably won’t come) when he catches your eye and comes over to talk to you.

Instead of getting caught up in this la-la land, remain in the moment. Time with your friends is precious, especially with all of the work that comes with midterms, so make the most of it you can. Listen to your friend’s story about a random act of kindness she experienced or vent to your girls about that jerk of a professor you can’t stand.

Instead of taking that route to class where you usually see that cute boy, take a new route with that friend you haven’t seen much and have a nice chat.

As you get stuck in our daily routines of the semester, you’re bound to recognize some of the people you pass on the way to class, and chances are there are some cute boys. At this point in the semester, you’ve gotten used to seeing them on your walk to class. Maybe you even look forward to it because they’re just so darn cute to look at!

But it’s that time of the semester when everyone gets busy with studying for midterms or writing papers, so chances are you haven’t been able to hang out with your friends as much recently. Reach out to the friend you haven’t seen much lately and try to figure out when both of your schedules allow you to walk to class together. Can’t find a time that matches up? Meet up for coffee or froyo instead!

Instead of going to the coffee shop to study alone and ~happen~ to look at cute boys, ask someone you don’t know very well to coffee.

Don’t deny that part of the reason you go to coffee shops to work is to check out cute hipster boys. While that’s all fine and dandy, coffee shops are also great places to have coffee with people you’d like to get to know! You’ve met so many people in your time on campus that you could stand to get to know better, whether they’d make a great friend or networking resource. Reach out to one of these people and ask to take them to coffee. They’ll be flattered you thought of them and reached out.

Instead of sitting on campus and telling yourself you’re doing homework while actually getting distracted by cute boys, read a book at your favorite campus spot.

Studying outside can be distracting enough, but when you add cute boys to the equation? Impossible. You know you’re not going to get much done when you tell yourself that you’re going to your favorite campus spot to get some studying done.

Instead, head to your favorite spot to read that book that’s been sitting on your nightstand untouched for weeks. Free reading is a great way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of college work. Not only is it relaxing, but it’s also a great way to keep yourself cultured.

Instead of thinking about boys, think about yourself.

In college, it’s easy to put a lot of things before yourself, whether it’s homework, clubs or spending time with a friend. That can also include looking at and thinking about cute boys. Why focus on stupid boys when your badass babe of a self needs some attention, too? Don’t forget to give yourself a little TLC—you work so hard and do so much, so be sure to take a little you time. You’re the most important person in your life! So take care of yourself every once in a while.

It’s impossible to blind yourself to boys completely. Trust me, I’ve tried. But it is possible to take some of your attention off of them. There are so many more important things for you to worry about and put your time into than boys right now. Someday you’ll be in an amazing relationship if that’s what you want, but for now, it’s important to give yourself and the important people in your life some love and attention.

5 Chic Jumpsuits You Can Actually Wear During Winter

As the temperatures drop, our layers of clothes seem to increase––but that doesn’t mean you have to throw out your favorite summer trends! One look we don’t want to let go of is the jumpsuits. They're the perfect in-between for being too lazy to actually pick out an outfit while still getting to wear pants. Luckily, we put together a list of jumpsuits that are totally appropriate to wear during cold weather.

1.UO Emmabella Velvet Straight-Neck Jumpsuit (Urban Outfitters, $79.00)

Our favorite thing about this jumpsuit is that it’s velvet, aka the coziest yet classiest material. Class it up with a furry jacket like the one pictured here, or dress it down with some denim. Either way you have a look that will turn heads.

2.  Old School Love Jumpsuit (Free People, $98.00)

This jumpsuit is such a win because it gives you the perfect opportunity to layer up! Put on a long-sleeve top underneath the suit, or pile on the sweaters and jackets to be feelin’ cozy while lookin’ cute.

3. Red Plunge Front Unitard Jumpsuit (Missguided, $31.00)

Talk about a power suit. You’ll own whatever room you’re in if you walk in while wearing this dazzling shade of red. This would be perfect for holiday dinner parties or even going out for drinks with friends! Just add a leather jacket and a pair of pumps to complete the look.

4. Disco Heaven Black Sequin Jumpsuit (Lulus, $68.00)

We love this jumpsuit because it takes a twist on a classic New Years Eve sequined look. Just in case you want to be even more boujee at your winter parties, we recommend adding a white furry jacket on top of this jumpsuit, because why not be even more extra?

5. Cord Jumpsuit in Berry With Tie Strap (ASOS, $72.00)

This jumpsuit is definitely a bit more casual. We would pair it with a slouchy sweater or denim jacket, and probably wear it on a nice winter stroll or coffee date. If you want to take it from a day to a night look, just add something sparkly and some heels and you’re set!

Who said jumpsuits were only for spring and summer? These winter looks will definitely keep you warm and fashionable this season. Enjoy!

Ed Sheeran Is Pretty Sure Taylor Swift's 'Dress' Isn't About Him

Taylor Swift’s Reputation has been out for almost six days now, meaning the internet is deep into speculating who each song is about. The most common theories range from Taylor’s ex-boyfriends Tom Hiddleston and Calvin Harris, to current boyfriend Joe Alwyn, to Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who Taylor famously feuded with last year.

But some fans are wondering if one song on the album, “Dress,” is about Taylor’s longtime friend and collaborator Ed Sheeran. In the chorus, Taylor sings, “I don’t want you like a best friend / Only bought this dress so you could take it off.” It’s the phrase “best friend” that got fans thinking of Ed, who has spoken many times before about his close relationship with Taylor. Also, Taylor references Ed's hit single "Shape of You" when she sings, "There is an indentation / in the shape of you."

Ed, however, was quick to shut down the rumors when asked if he thought the song was about him. “I don’t think it is,” he said in a live-stream on Instagram. “I think if you read into it…it’s not… You know, because she mentions someone with a buzz-cut haircut, and I’ve never had a buzz-cut haircut.” Strong evidence, Sheeran.

Taylor wrote in the magazine that is sold alongside the Target edition of Reputation that she knew releasing her new album would come with an influx of scrutiny. “When this album comes out, gossip blogs will scour the lyrics for men they can attribute to each song, as if the inspiration for music is as simple and basic as a paternity test.”

All these rumors about Ed only prove Taylor’s point. I guess we’ll never know the truth—unless Taylor tells us herself.
