The 'Beauty and the Beast' Trailer Is Finally Here & Everyone is Freaking Out

Stay calm, folks: almost two weeks after Entertainment Weekly released first look images of Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast, the official trailer has finally been released. Our Monday definitely became a little more magical after watching the clip of Emma Watson and Dan Stevens twirling around a ballroom as Belle and the Beast.

While some of the trailer’s moments play out almost exactly like the original animated film (Belle finding her dad in the Beast’s castle, for example), the video finally gave us glimpses of the CGI talking objects, like Ewan McGregor’s Lumiere and Ian McKellen’s Cogsworth. We even saw enough of Chip the teacup for him to completely win our hearts!

We’re not the only ones in love. Fans from all over have gone crazy about the release.

Check out the trailer below and mark your calendars for March 17, 2017, for the Beauty and the Beast premiere!

What Majors the Disney Princesses Would Choose in College

$

At one point or another, we’ve probably imagined what it might be like to drop out of school, leave our seemingly endless responsibilities behind, marry a prince and pursue a career as a Disney princess. But do princesses ever wonder what it might be like to drop their princess-ly duties and attend a university (if they even know what that is, seeing as where they’re from, school doesn’t really seem to exist)?

If they did go to school, here’s what the Disney princesses would major in. Would you see any of them in your classes?

Belle: English

This is a no-brainer! Belle would obviously study English literature and would probably have a minor in creative writing. You’ll likely see her around campus with her nose buried in a book, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t friendly and approachable! She’s definitely someone you’d want on your side when you’re cramming for your French Literature midterm and trying desperately to decipher the social commentary ofThe Count of Monte Cristo.

Ariel: Musical Theater

Trading her voice for a pair of legs gave Ariel a pretty good foundation for pretending to be someone she’s not—talk about method acting! And now that she’s got her voice back, Ariel is pretty much a shoe-in for the lead in just about every production on campus. Of course, Eric is in the front row at every show!

Mulan: Women and Gender Studies

After joining the Chinese army and single-handedly taking on the leader of the Huns in combat, Mulan has decided to take a break from all the action and get herself a degree. She’s actively involved in her school’s feminist student organizations and studies about not only the injustices of gender inequality, but also the incredible accomplishments of women. Honestly, though, she already knows both women’s struggles and what they’re capable of, all from firsthand experience.

Rapunzel: Art

After being cooped up in that tower for so long, Rapunzel is just dying for an opportunity to express herself. Her epic adventures with Flynn Rider serve as the inspiration for many of her paintings, and she often spends endless hours in the studio churning out masterpiece after masterpiece—probably because staying in one room for weirdly long periods of time is just second nature to her.

Jasmine: International Affairs

Now that Jasmine has finally escaped the limitations of the palace walls, she just can’t get enough of exploring other places and cultures. Choosing a major like international affairs allows her to take every possible opportunity to study abroad, and she’s very vocal and involved on campus in advocating for issues like women’s rights and poverty. Aladdin would be proud!

Pocahontas: Political Science and History

Because history textbooks have a tendency to gloss over certain aspects of history (you know, like that time white people totally invaded the land of Native Americans and decided to claim it as their own), Pocahontas has decided to take matters into her own hands. She’s very vocal in class and ensures that all sides of history are told. She often challenges her professors and classmates to look at things from new and different perspectives.

Tiana: Culinary Arts

Tiana is one of the best and brightest in her major not only because she’s full of determination and motivation, but because she also has a ton of natural talent. She’s landed internships with some of the best in the business, and she is on track to achieve her dreams as soon as she graduates. She’s popular on campus for pushing her friends to do their best, and also for her ability to whip up an amazing dish on a moment’s notice. When you’re a college student on a ramen-noodles-every-night sort of diet, who wouldn’t want a friend like that?

Cinderella: Health Sciences

Whether it’s humans or animals, Cinderella is used to doing everything she can to help others, so it’s only natural she’d pursue a major like health sciences. She’s often so hard at work on her studies, she forgets to take time to herself—and when she finally does, she decides to leave the party early. Even worse, she ends up leaving one of her shoes behind! Her friends hope she’ll learn to loosen up and enjoy herself eventually.

Merida: Business

Dismayed to discover that her school doesn't offer a major in archery, Merida decided to settle on a major in business administration. While she sometimes finds the subject matter of her classes boring, she loves the idea of running her own company—without any help from anyone else!

Snow White: Music Education

Snow White taught the seven dwarves how to “whistle while you work,” and now she’s hoping to make a career out of it! Working so closely with the dwarves, as well as with birds and other forest animals, has prepared her for a career in teaching. Her soft-spoken yet stern manner is perfect for spreading the joy of music to children in the classroom.

Aurora: Fashion Design

We bet Sleeping Beauty would declare a major in Fashion Design—because who else would be able to tell you whether you should rock a blue gown or a pink one to that party this weekend? The thing is, her grades are in a little bit of trouble, since she’s gotten into the unfortunate habit of sleeping through her courses. On the occasions she does manage to get out of bed in time for her 8 a.m. class, her shiny blonde locks and impeccable sense of style turn heads all over campus.

Anna: Undeclared

Ever the optimist, Anna takes a liking to just about every subject and has a hard time committing to just one. Professors appreciate her enthusiasm, but worry about her ability to stay on track. Still, she’s one of the most well-meaning girls on campus. And she knows that if she ever needs help figuring out the right path, her older sister Elsa is just a phone call away!

If the Disney princesses really did attend college, they’re some of the few people we probably wouldn’t mind having to do a group project with. And who knows—if you hit it off well, they might even be able to score you an invite to their next Royal Ball!

Kendall Jenner Deleted Her Instagram Without Giving Us A Proper Goodbye

If you thought we'd already hit rock bottom with 2016, you thought wrong. Today, Kendall Jenner—she of the most-liked Instagram of all time—decided to delete her v popular Instagram account. Without explanation

Fans were in for a sad surprise when they visited her page, only to find... nothing.

Kendall has yet to speak about her sudden disappearance from the social media network, but this action does seem to have something to do with the fact that her stalker is walking free as of last week. Given what the Kardashians have been through as of late, particularly with Kim's horrifying robbery, it's not surprising to think that Kendall might be reevaluating her role on social media.

Do what you need to, girl. (Even though we already miss that pic of your hair shaped in hearts.)

Donald Trump Still Wants to Overturn Roe v. Wade, But Calls Gay Marriage "Settled"

$

President-elect Donald Trump appeared on “60 Minutes” this Sunday to discuss his plans for the presidency, and to clarify several of the stances he'd talked about on the campaign trail—including reproductive rights and gay marriage.

Leading up to the election, Trump promised to nominate Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision that made abortion legal in the U.S. in 1973. The president-elect made it clear that he is pro-life and wishes to appoint pro-life justices. (Trump didn't always feel this way. He described himself as "very pro-choice" in a 1999 NBC interview.)

During the “60 Minutes” interview with Lesley Stahl, Trump said abortion rights should be left up to the states. When Stahl asked whether it would be okay for women to have to travel to another state to receive an abortion, Trump said, “We’ll see what happens. It’s got a long way to go, just so you understand.”

Since Justice Antonin Scalia’s death last February, there has been one vacant seat in the Supreme Court that Trump will have to fill as one of his first decisions in office. Republicans in Congress repeatedly blocked attempts to confirm Merrick Garland, Obama's pick to fill the vacancy.

But while Trump might think Roe v. Wade should be overturned, he seems to believe other SCOTUS decisions are set in stone. Stahl raised concerns during the interview that many in the LGBTQ community have expressed about Trump’s position on gay marriage. Trump's VP, Mike Pence, is known to be a vocal opponent of LGBTQ rights. While Trump did not say whether he supported marriage equality, he did say, “(I)t was already settled. It’s law. It was settled in the Supreme Court. I mean, it’s done.” Maybe this is slightly good news?

On immigration, Trump walked back a bit on his famous wall claim, saying parts of it might be "some fencing." He also said he will probably deport 2 million or 3 million immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally and have criminal records. Vox reports that while we don't know exactly how many undocumented immigrant "criminals" are currently in the U.S., the "number of immigrants with criminal records who’ve recently been released from custody amounts to fewer than 200,000."

Trump also commented during the interview on the racial slurs and threats that have been committed by some of his supporters, according to CBS. “I am very surprised to hear that,” he said. “I am so saddened to hear that. And I say ‘Stop it,’ if it helps. I will say this, and I will say right to the cameras—stop it!”

Hillary Clinton Could End This Election With More Votes Than You Might Think

$

0

Now, a week after Election Day, absentee votes are still being tallied—and many of them are increasing Hillary Clinton’s lead in the popular vote, according to The Atlantic.

The total number of votes shows that voter turnout decreased significantly from the last presidential election. People who voted for President Obama in 2012 didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton last week, and that lost her the election, along with myriad other reasons.

However, some votes haven’t been counted yet. Provisional and absentee ballots will take another few weeks to total, and many of these votes will be for Clinton—they were cast in heavily Democratic states like California and New York. Increased absentee and early voting have made it increasingly difficult for the states to get all of their votes counted as quickly as when most voters went to the polls on election day. In California, there are 4 million votes yet to be counted.

As of Nov. 13, Clinton had received 61.3 million votes, and that total will only increase as more votes are counted. She might win the popular vote by more than 2 percent.

However, it is important to note that no matter what happens with the popular vote, the results of the election will not change. The electoral college is what matters, and Donald Trump won more than 270 electoral votes—so he will be the next president of the United States.

Anna Kendrick Didn't Think 'Pitch Perfect' Would Be THIS Popular

Can you believe that before 2012, we were not aware of how beautiful Anna Kendrick’s singing voice is, or how entertaining it is to put “aca” at the beginning of words?

Well, since 2012, Pitch Perfect has become a global hit with a third movie set to be released next year. But despite its amazing acapella covers and hilarious dialogue, star Anna Kendrick was not sure the movie was going to be a success.

During an interview with NBC News’ Sunday Today, Kendrick admitted, "When I read the script, I was so expecting it to be something I'd seen before." She continued to describe her low expectations, saying, "I was just hoping a couple nerds would really like it."

It’s safe to say a lot more than a few "nerds" enjoy watching this film. "I think it was a real testament to the nerdery that exists in the world," she said.

Never underestimate the power of nerdery, Anna.

Black Students at The University of Pennsylvania Were Harassed in an Anonymous, Racist Group Message

Someone is targeting and harassing black students at the University of Pennsylvania. According to USA Today College, several black students were added to a GroupMe thread called “Mud Men" on Friday morning. The Daily Pennsylvanian reports that a student at the University of Oklahoma was suspended in connection with the incident on Saturday.

The thread contained many racist comments and photos. Some were related to lynching, while some clearly referred to President-Elect Donald Trump—and the idea that his election makes this kind of behavior okay. Some students shared screenshots of the group message.

According to The Daily Pennsylvanian, University President Amy Gutmann and Provost Vincent Price and Executive Vice President Craig Carnaroli released a statement Friday afternoon:

"We are absolutely appalled that earlier today Black freshman students at Penn were added to a racist GroupMe account that appears to be based in Oklahoma," the letter read. "The account itself is totally repugnant: it contains violent, racist and thoroughly disgusting images and messages. This is simply deplorable. Our police and information security staff are trying to locate the exact source and to determine if any steps can be taken to block the account.

"This is absolutely vile material and completely offensive to everyone on our campus. We are both angry and saddened that it was directed to our students or to anyone. The people responsible for this are reprehensible. We have increased campus safety and are reaching out to support the affected students in every way we can, and want them to know that the entire Penn community stands with them."

Students organized protests on campus, and professors emailed students to express their disgust with the group and to offer support.

Liberals Need to Include the White Working Class in Their Discussions

$

Every day when I drive to work, I pass a rainbow sign that says “all are welcome, Raleigh, NC,” clean suburban shopping centers and yards cluttered with blue signs. But most of the state is not like this. North Carolina, a supposed purple state, is still very much red.

I didn’t realize this until I went to the mountains a few weeks ago. As I drove West and the cluster of Hilliary-Kaine signs thinned, instead we saw massive pro-Trump billboards. My friends and I laughed at the signs saying things like “Hillary Sucks” or “Want a Job? Vote Trump-Pence.” When we arrived at our accommodation and I saw that our Airbnb host had a Trump-Pence sticker, I thought to myself, “Oh great…” But our host seemed kind and helpful. In our little house, she had left some snacks, water and a helpful little booklet with suggested travel itinerary. I played with her dog, a rescue, for a bit and she talked about how she was trying to find a permanent home for it. Like a lot of North Carolinians, she was friendly and hospitable.

Since I am young and live in the Triangle area, I don’t know many Trump supporters. It’s sometimes hard for me to fathom why anyone would support Trump, much less how 47% of Americans could. Then I remember that many people, especially in rural communities, didn’t have the same opportunities that I did as a 2016 college graduate from an upper-middle class family. While the economy has mostly recovered from the Great Recession, there are plenty of rural communities that still haven’t seen that recovery. Although Americans are trained to think they live in meritocracy, the reality is that the working class must overcome hurdles to land in a position almost guaranteed to their upper-middle class counterparts. Many voters saw Trump as an opportunity for change. However, I am skeptical his chances will be for the better.

As an Iranian-American, I am genuinely fearful for the future of my family and friends. I am upset that a Trump victory has legitimized feelings of hostility towards Muslim-Americans, POC, the LGBTQIA+ community, the disabled, and many others who are excluded from Trump’s vision of a “great” America. In electing Trump, his supporters have failed to acknowledge his unacceptable sexism and xenophobia. While it is my hope that those who have supported Trump and who have the privilege to not feel targeted by his words will someday empathize with those who fear his presidency, I think it is my responsibility to understand their point of view.

Before we can unite and heal, we must also realize that class is very often excluded from conversations about identity politics. To quote The New York Times, “From the presidential race on down, Democrats adopted a strategy of inclusiveness that excluded a hefty share of Americans and consigned many to a 'basket of deplorables' who aren’t all deplorable.” The white working class may never have to worry about being targeted because they are white, but they are still shunned and oppressed on other levels. While progressives must continue to stand up against racism and xenophobia, we must include the plight of the white working class in our conversations. We must begin to see beyond our own echo chambers.

11 Hacks to Get the Most out of Your Amazon Prime Account

$

It seems like almost everyone has an Amazon Prime account by now, or if not, you probably know at least three other people who do. Amazon Prime is a go-to resource for its affordable prices and guaranteed free two-day shipping, which makes it the key outlet for everything from party necessities and groceries, to textbooks and school supplies. But did you know that there are tons of hacks to get even more out of your Prime membership? Read on to find out how to get all the benefits of Prime.

1. If the delivery is late you can qualify for a free month of Prime

If your order takes more than two days to reach you, then you might be qualified to get your next month of Prime for free. Their Guaranteed Accelerated Delivery policy promises that your item will get to you by the set date. So if it doesn’t, you can get a Prime Extension up to 12 times per year (this excludes student memberships).

File a claim by going to Your Orders > File/View Claim > Report Problem.

2. You can earn Prime Pantry credit by choosing “FREE No-Rush Shipping”

Yes, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer, but this will keep you from paying the $6 delivery fee. You can only use $6 of credit per pantry order, and it does have an expiration date, but any student will tell you that saving even a little money is worth it. Prime Pantry is great way to buy groceries online, without trekking to the grocery store. They have everything from snacks, to toiletries, to pet products.

3. Prime members get lots of Kindle First books for only $1.99

This is perfect for all the book lovers out there who can’t seem to get enough to read. With your Prime membership you’re actually able to download one book a month, and you don’t even need a Kindle. All you need is the app and you’ll be good to go. Each month you’ll be able to choose a book from their list of featured titles, which are usually new releases that Prime members get before anyone else. Plus, your Prime membership also allows you to download one book per month for free from a list of featured titles.

4. You can borrow tons of books from the Kindle library for free

If you’re someone who’s constantly going through books, then this is a great hack to know about. The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library isn’t like your typical library though, because there are not due dates, so whether you’re a fast or slow reader you’ll never have a problem. So instead of buying ten different books for your English Lit class, you’ll be able to rent them one at a time and refrain from lugging them around, or having to buy them. To see the books you can choose from, open the Kindle store, go to All Categories or Menu and then click, Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

5. Amazon Prime members get a FREE six-month complementary digital subscription to the Washington Post, plus a 60% discount after that

It’s super important to stay up-to-date with current events, but spending money on a newspaper subscription isn’t always on the top of the budget list. No worries though, you can get this free subscription by logging into your Prime account.

6. You can use PrimeNow to get free food delivery

This one is particulary interesting because it involves, well, food. But instead of your typical delivery service, it has all the listed places available in one spot. All you do is input your zip code and they’ll tell you all your delivery options. If you live in the participating locations, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Manhattan, Minneapolis, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle, then this is a great option for you. That way, when you’re four hours into studying and need reinforcements, all you have to do is log into your Prime account.

7. Amazon Prime has unlimited storage for your pictures

There’s nothing worse then trying to take a picture on your iPhone and having the “not enough storage” message pop up. So instead, use Prime. You can save an entire collection of photos for free by using Amazon Cloud Drive. Plus, there are zero limits on the amount of pictures you use, so you can free up as much space as you need, whether you’re a professional photographer or professional snapchatter. Plus, Prime members get an extra 5GB of space for videos or any other files on the cloud.

8. You can stream music from Prime

With over one million songs to choose from, you’ll be bound to have plenty to keep you occupied. The one catch is that you can only use one device at a time. Other than that, Prime Music is a great way to listen to music for free, unlike Spotify Premium, which might have more songs, but also costs additional money. You’re already paying for your Prime account, so why not make use of the tons of music readily available?

9. College students get six months free

All you need is an email with ‘.edu’ on the end, and you’ll get six months of Prime for free. Plus, students also get half off once the trial period is over. This cheaper alternative is called Prime Student, and it’s a great way to get tons of the benefits from Prime without spending the full amount. You can also earn a $10 credit for each referral you get from other students. Just another reason to spread the word!

10. Use the Amazon Outlet Store or Warehouse Deals section for even cheaper prices

One of the great things about Amazon are the deals you can find, but did you know that using these sites can get you items for even less? The Outlet Store sells everything from electronics to everyday household products, and the Warehouse Section has items with open packaging that are sold at a cheaper price. With a college budget, this is an option worth mentioning. However, there’s a slight risk that the item won’t be mint condition, so proceed with caution.

11. Use AmazonSmile to give back .05 percent of certain purchases to charity

By signing up for AmazonSmile—which is free by the way—you can give back to charity just by shopping. By purchasing certain products, you can give back .05 percent of sales to the charity of your choice, which is even more incentive to shop.

If you aren’t already an Amazon Prime member, jump on board! Not only does it have great prices and awesome shipping, but there are also some pretty cool perks that you don’t want to miss out on.

This Rihanna & Manolo Blahnik Collab Is What You Came For

Singer, designer, model, actress and all-around powerhouse Rihanna has teamed up with Manolo Blahnik for the second time. If the singer’s past designs are any indication of her upcoming collaboration, these shoes are guaranteed to be a big hit.

So you may be wondering: what can we expect to see in her latest collection? Well, the Savage line features Timberland-inspired boots with Rihanna's signature twist. WWD gives us the deets on three pairs from the collection. The Fallon is a boot with a stiletto heel and a fur trim, and looks like something out of an early '00s hip-hop music video... but like in a good way.

The Dominique is a thigh-high boot made from black ponyskin The boot boasts a subtle floral brocade pattern, and is sure to make quite the statement.

Finally, the Alexis is a knee-high boot that is the furriest out of the collection, with a fur trim running around the top of the boot, and down the laces. While the thin heel might make these impractical for a snow storm, these boots would ensure that you stayed warm (and stylish!) during the colder weather.

The collection is dropping on November 16 in select Manolo Blahnik stores and online. The prices haven't been set yet, but we're not expecting them to be in (or anywhere near) our budgets. If you need us, we'll be scouting out (animal-friendly) dupes from Forever 21 or ASOS.

Feminism isn't like a sore throat—it doesn't just go away after a week of tea and honey. Feminism is a worldview, a movement, a passion. Once a feminist, always a feminist.

1. Because you believe periods should not be taboo.

2. Because you know your vagina doesn't make you inferior.

3. Because a girl should never be at fault for being sexually assaulted.

4. Because princesses can inspire people.

5. And not all superheroes are men.

6. Because you want to make the phrase "like a girl" something to strive for, not to be ashamed of.

7. Because you reject social norms that are instituted by "THE MAN!"

8. Because you don't think women have to dress or act a certain way.

9. Because we live in a society that teaches women self-defense to prevent sexual assault, rather than actually preventing sexual assault.

10. Because we're destroying the idea of angels in the house.

11. Because women ~still~ don't have equality in the work place—and should.

12. Because you are determined to change the spectacle that surrounds women's bodies.

13. Because you are an equal.

14. And you are a strong, independent woman who don't need no man to feel significant!

15. Because smashing the patriarchy is your cardio.

HC’s Election Day Survey Results: College Women Weren’t Why Clinton Lost

$
0
0

On election day, we launched a survey to find out who our readers actually voted for, and why. While the results of the election came as a shock, college women unsurprisingly supported the candidate with better qualifications and a far better record on women’s rights. We surveyed more than 840 women, and their answers make it clear that while Clinton may have lost the election, it wasn’t because of this group.

1. A large majority of college women voted for Hillary Clinton. And for many of them, this election was their first vote ever.

College women really came out for Hillary Clinton, with 71 percent casting their vote for her. Eighteen percent voted for Donald Trump, while 5 percent voted for Gary Johnson, and only 1 percent voted for Jill Stein. Trump got slightly more of the college women vote than had said they would vote for him in our other surveys. The highest he got was in our third pre-election survey, where 15 percent said they would vote for him. In the first and second pre-election surveys, when he was not yet the Republican nominee, he got three percent and seven percent respectively.

Over 96 percent of those who took the survey voted. This holds up pretty well when compared to our three pre-election surveys—in each survey, more than 90 percent of respondents said they planned to vote. Sixty-three percent of our readers cast their first vote in this election, and of those who were voting for the first time, 73 percent voted for Clinton.

2. They may not have originally wanted to vote for her, but they felt good about it in the end.

More than 60 percent of college women said they changed their mind about who to vote for during the election season—most because their favorite candidate dropped out. It's safe to say that most of these women were originally Bernie supporters, as he was the overwhelming favorite among our readers in our first two surveys. In the election day survey, more than 400 women said Clinton ended up being the candidate they voted for even though they supported a different candidate at the start of the campaign.

Overall, 72 percent of Clinton voters and 57 percent of Trump voters said they were happy with their vote—and not that they were just voting to stop the other candidate. This is a little different from our third pre-election survey, where 60 percent of Clinton supporters and 73 percent of Trump supporters said they felt like they were voting for the lesser of two evils. These two questions were worded a bit differently, but maybe the act of actually casting the vote was a better feeling than thinking about the vote ahead of time.

In open-ended answers about why they voted for Hillary Clinton, college women weren’t overly enthusiastic, but many thought Clinton’s policies just aligned better overall with their beliefs. A lot of them expressed the idea that compared to Trump, Clinton was the obvious choice because of her experience and record of upholding the rights of minorities and women. Many said they thought a Trump presidency would make them less safe.

3. Less than half voted in person on election day.

College women took advantage of ways to vote other than showing up in person on election day. Fourteen percent voted early, while 32 percent voted with absentee ballots and 8 percent used mail-in ballots. With so many students out of state for school, it makes sense that college women would use these other methods. Maybe this will eventually lead to even more millennial-friendly ways to vote—like more widespread and secure online voting.

4. Donald Trump’s history of sexual assault made a big impression on college women. Clinton’s emails had less of an effect.

When Trump’s 2005 Access Hollywood tape was published on The Washington Post in October, a lot of people thought it was a total game-changer. While the tape obviously didn’t stop Trump from getting elected, 54 percent of college women said the tape affected their vote—and 51 percent said the accusations of sexual assault against him also had an impact. These numbers are no surprise given that college women have been on the forefront of a movement to stop ignoring and normalizing sexual assault.

Clinton’s emails were seen as a similarly huge story, and the media lost its collective mind when FBI director James Comey announced that the bureau had found more emails of hers to look at just two weeks before the election. But only 23 percent of college women said the new emails affected their vote, while 27 percent said Clinton being cleared a second time had an impact. More women said the debates influenced their vote.

For some women though, both candidates were too scandal-ridden to be trustworthy. In open-ended answers about which issues affected their votes, several women said that they were turned off by both candidates and thought both the sexual assault accusations and the FBI investigation should be disqualifying.

Between having the cutest style in the world and being our spirit animal on “Modern Family”, Sarah Hyland really does rock our world. But thanks to Refinery29, we now know that is not all she is rocking. Now, the actress can add “musician” to her resume.

Hyland joined our favorite acoustic band Boyce Avenue to create a cover of "Closer" by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey and its safe to say that she absolutely crushed it. Although this isn't her first rodeo with performing, it was her pop debut. In 1999 she was in the film adaptation of Annie (she played our favorite character, Molly) and she performed in a 2014 production of Hair, according to E! News

The band captioned their video on YouTube, “We recently traveled to Los Angeles to film a couple videos with our good friend Sarah Hyland” and continued to gush saying that “she is an amazing actress and has a beautiful voice.” And they couldn’t be more right. Check out the video below and then promptly replay it ten times in a row. No? Just me? Oops.

When you go shopping and find the dress of your dreams, there are very few things that you expect to go wrong. You expect that the dress might be a little snug when you get home and try it on, or it doesn’t look as good as you thought. But, one of the things that you typically never worry about, is finding a DEAD MOUSE IN THE LINING OF THE DRESS.

Yup, you read that right. According to Cosmopolitan, 24-year-old Cailey Fiesel bought two dresses at a Zara in Greewhich, Connecticut and when she wore one of the dresses to work a few weeks later, she found a small surprise scratching her leg.

A lawsuit that Fiesel has filed against the company says that, “While at work, she started to notice a disturbingly pungent odor. As the day went on, Ms. Fiesel started to notice what felt like a loose string from her dress rubbing against her leg... without giving it much thought she reached down with her hand to try and locate the piece of string that was rubbing against her.” And little did she know that it certainly was not a piece of string.

"To her utter shock and disbelief, as she ran her hand over the hem of the dress she felt an unusual bulge and suddenly realized that it was not a string that was rubbing against her leg but was instead a leg rubbing against her leg. The leg of a dead rodent that is." NOPE NOPE NOPE.

The lawsuit also writes that she finally figured it out "After removing the dress she found that a dead rodent was sewn into the hem." Although Zara has not responded to the lawsuit directly, they are aware of it according to TMZ. I mean it has gone viral so hopefully they know..

Sorry Zara, but I think I am going to spend my paycheck elsewhere thankyouverymuch.

Dogs are man's best friend for so many reasons. They enjoy cuddling, eating and loving their owners unconditionally. They also have big personalities that sometimes result in them doing something sassy or just plain stupid. Here are 16 dumb things dogs have done that are sure to make you smile.

1. They mistake cat flaps for doggy doors.

They may be man's best friend, but they aren't necessarily his smartest friend.

2. They are always confused by mirrors.

We're shocked by our reflections too sometimes.

3. They sit ANYWHERE.

No, no we don't show interest by sniffing each other's butts.

4. They try to immitate us.

Start with child's pose and work your way up, my friend.

5. They give sloppy kisses whenever the heck they please.

Forget downward dog when your actual dog is around.

6. They stare out the window longer than a soap opera character.

We many never know…

7. They mess up their tricks.

You had one job.

8. They can't find their treatseven when they're right *on* their face.

The human version of this = eat an Oreo from your forehead without using your hands.

9.  They chase their own leash.

We'll never be able to reach this level of pure bliss.

10. They have no fear when it comes to other dogs.

We're not sure what this pug was trying to accomplish, but we love the effort and grace.

11. They eat anything in sight.

They kind of have a one-track mind—it's probably why we love them so much.

12. Ok, maybe not *anything*.

On a serious note: never chocolate!

13. They let their owners use them for more than just cuddles.

This is the most obedient dog we have ever seen, and he deserves his own bowl of Wheaties.

14. They forget things, like the fact that the screen door is open.

It's all in your mind, puppy!

15. They love their toys.

This dog totally got played. How was he supposed to catch a soccer ball anyway?

16. They either love or hate catsthere is no in between.

Cooties. Are. Real.

As if being a soon-to-be Victoria’s Secret model and walking in every major fashion show ever wasn’t enough to make Bella Hadid one of the top models of our generation, she has just landed another MAJOR campaign to add to her resume: Nike.

On Monday, the supermode broke the news by writing on Instagram, "So excited to announce that I am OFFICIALLY PART OF THE NIKE FAMILY!" accompanied by Hadid posing next to a giant billboard of herself, as one does.

so excited to announce that I am OFFICIALLY PART OF THE @NIKE FAMILY! More coming very soon

Although Nike has yet to confirm the news themselves, according to Harpers Bazaar, we think that the billboard in New York City might give it away. Just a tad, ya know?

Either way, congrats Bella! We are looking forward to all the #fitspo you are going to post for us so we can live vicariously through you! (All from the comfort of our couches, of course).
