There really is nothing worse than waking up with a ginormous zit, right in the center of your face. You don't want to pop it because you're smarter than that, but not even the fullest coverage concealer can mask it. So, what's a girl to do? Well, Glossier just created the solution to all of your unexpected breakout problems.

Introducing the brand new Zit Stick, the Insta-worthy beauty brand's latest edition to their product offerings. You may have seen options like this before, but Glossier has truly revolutionized the way we use acne spot-treatments. So, here's how it works: You click the pen to distribute your desired amount of product, then you roll the tip of the pen over your breakout to relieve redness and irritation. The solution inside of the pen consists of acne-fighting medications like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and cucumber extract, to ensure that the product is nourishing and effective. Plus, the antimicrobial steel roller ball massages the product into skin without you having to use your fingers, keeping your face fresh and the area free of harmful bacteria.

However, the best part of this whole deal might just have to be the pricing. These Zit Sticks are selling for $14, and having an acne-solution be such a bang-for-your-buck is almost unheard of.

This little life-savor is perfect for all skin types – oily, dry, dull, pigmented – and everyone can enjoy it. So, it's time to ditch the home treatments compiled of avocado, oats, and honey. And maybe, time to stop dumping money into overpriced products sold at your local beauty retailer. No acne dots or thick formulas necessary here. With the Zit Stick you can simply roll on with your makeup and go, while the treatment works totally unnoticed. The Glossier Zit Stick is a budget-friendly solution for those with even the most temperamental of skin types. It's a blessed week, ladies.

The seemingly long-brewing feud between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj came to a head at the Harper's Bazaar Icons fashion week party in New York Friday night.

The order of events isn't exactly clear, but videos posted to social media show Cardi lunging towards an unseen person who sources said was Nicki, while shouting "Let me tell you something."

Another video shows Cardi throwing her shoe in the direction of the other rapper. Through the chaos, Cardi can also be heard yelling at Nicki for supposedly mentioning her and Offset's daughter, Kulture. "Write some sh*t about my daughter again," Cardi appears to yell.

When security eventually separated the two, Cardi emerged with a huge bump on her forehead, her dress torn, and without shoes. According to TMZ, the bump was the result of Nicki's security elbowing Cardi in the face.

The fight apparently started when Nicki deliberately stepped on Cardi's dress train, after Cardi approached her not to fight, but "to address the lies Nicki was spreading," TMZ reported

"The scene was f*cking crazy," a source told PEOPLE. "It was entourage against entourage.

Another source, who spoke to Page Six, said wigs were pulled — and a giant fist full of hair was even left on the floor. "It was bad," they added.

Shortly after the altercation, Cardi took to Instagram with a screenshot of a note she wrote. Though she doesn't mention Nicki by name, the post appears to be directed toward her.

"I’ve let a lot of sh*t slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, f*ck up the way I eat! You’ve threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you’ll stop f*cking with them!!" Cardi wrote.

She continued, "I let you talk big sh*t about me!! I addressed you once in person, I addressed you a second time in person, and every time you copped the plea!!"

Cardi then accused Nicki of attacking her parenting skills. "But when you mention my child, you choose to like comments about me as a mother, make comments about my abilities to take care of my daughter is when all bets are f*cking off!! I’ve worked to hard and come too far to let anybody f*ck with my success!!!! Bitches talk all that sh*t in they raps but in real life they p*ssies!! This sh*t really is for entertainment!!"

Nicki has yet to acknowledge the fight, instead posting photos and videos of her outfit from the event.

The New York Police Department is reportedly investigating the incident.

George Zimmerman Allegedly Threatened to Kill Beyoncé & Jay-Z in a Series of Disturbing Texts

Disturbing text messages from George Zimmerman have emerged, in which he allegedly threatened both Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z during the filming of Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story

Jay-Z co-executive produced the six-part documentary series, which chronicles Zimmerman's murder of 17-year-old Trayvon, the subsequent trial, and the "Black Lives Matter" movement that transpired as a result. Zimmerman claimed self-defense using Florida's controversial "Stand Your Ground Law," and got off. He's been free ever since.

Private Investigator Dennis Warren allegedly reached out to Zimmerman to see if he wanted to appear in the docu-series, which is what prompted Zimmerman to send "over hundreds of harassing messages along with voicemails,"Hollywood Life reported.

Among the messages, obtained by The Blast, were the threats to Beyoncé — who Zimmerman called a "broke whore"— and Jay-Z. He promised the two would "find themselves inside a 13 foot gator."

Just a few months ago, Zimmerman was charged with stalking and harassing Warren. The PI also recently fought a subpoena from Zimmerman, which demanded he see the records of the investigation. Warren refused, insisting the information would put the people he spoke with at risk.

According to The Blast, Zimmerman threatened another one of the show's executive producers, Michael Gasparro. He messaged Gasparro, letting him know he knew his address. Zimmerman also told him that members of the Genovese family — who are allegedly a powerful mafia family — were looking for him.

The new details about the threats come after the New York Daily News' initial report in December 2017. At the time, Jay-Z didn't respond; however, a number of people came to his defense as they are now with both him and his wife.

Zimmerman's texts will reportedly be unveiled in the final episode of Rest in Power, which airs Monday at 10 p.m. ET on the Paramount Network.

Such a genuine person. Brilliant sense of humor. A true artist. Your spirit is what impressed me the most. The energy you brought to any space you were in. Contagious. You reached out to me at times when others didn’t. You were human. And we shared the same disease. A disease that is out to kill us, and when left untreated eventually will. I’m shaken. Shaken that someone who had such a light can be taken from this world so easily. It could have been me too many times to count. On the surface people that appear to have it all, are not exempt from the gravity and cunning nature of this disease. If you’re in the midst of addiction tell someone what’s going on. Don’t be a secret. Go to a 12 step meeting. Introduce yourself and you’ll be greeted with love and understanding from people that are fighting the same battle. Surrender. There are many paths, but it’s the only thing that has worked for me. I’m scared. Scared of how real this all is. Life and death. Beyond sad. Such a beautiful soul. Sending love to family, friends and everyone whose life was better because of your presence on this earth. Rest In Peace Mac 💔

G-Eazy even paid tribute to Miller at his concert on Friday night.

Serena Williams Perfectly Called Out Sexism at the US Open Final

$

Serena Williams may have lost the US Open final to 20-year-old Naomi Osaka, but she still made a huge impact on Saturday.

What began as the court's umpire Carols Ramos docking Williams points, turned into an important moment for female athletes. The tennis star received her first code violation because of her coach allegedly helping her from his box, and the next after she broke her racket in frustration. These prompted her to confront Ramos.

"I don't cheat to win. I'd rather lose," Williams said. "I have never cheated in my life. I have a daughter and I stand for what's right for her. I've never cheated, and you owe me an apology."

Williams was particularly upset because she said that male athletes don't face the same violations.

"There are men out here that do a lot worse, but because I’m a woman you’re going to take this away from me? Every time I play here, I have problems," Williams said.

After Williams called Ramos a "thief," for taking points from her, Ramos cited Williams for a third time — resulting in the loss of a game, The New York Times reported.

After the finals, Williams said that she wouldn't go back in time and not call Ramos a "thief." Instead, she used the press conference to continue discussing the double standards female athletes face.

"I've seen other men call other umpires several things. I'm here fighting for women's rights and women's equality and for me to say 'thief' and for him to take a game, it made me feel like it was a sexist remark," Williams said. "He's never took a game from a man because he said 'thief.'"

She continued, holding back tears, "I am going to continue to fight for women...The fact that I have to go through this is just an example for the next person that has emotions and wants to express themselves and want to be a strong woman. They're going to be allowed to do that because of today."

Regarding the first violation — which started the whole thing — Williams' coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, later admitted to ESPN that he was coaching Williams; however, he said Osaka's coach was doing the same, as do "100 percent of the coaches in 100 percent of the matches."

"I don't even think she looked at me, so that's why she didn't even think I was...We have to stop this hypocrite thing," Mouratoglou added.

Other athletes have since come to Williams' defense, agreeing that the violations were unnecessary. Even tennis legend Billie Jean King weighed in.

Meanwhile, Osaka became the first Japanese player to win a Grand Slam title. Major props!

Barack Obama Told an Amazing Story About How He Got Kicked Out of Disneyland

Former President Barack Obama is finally re-entering the public spotlight, and he gave everyone a good reminder of what they've been missing during a speech in Anaheim, California on Saturday.

He opened by telling the crowd a story about a time when he and a few of his friends — who were visiting California to attend a Kool & The Gang concert — were kicked out of Disneyland after they were caught smoking on a ride.

"So we came down, me and a bunch of friends. After the concert, because we were teenagers you could still sort of hang out in the park, and we got in the gondolas," Obama began. "And I'm ashamed to say this, so close your ears, young people. A few of us were... smoking."

He, of course, mimicked the act while continuing the story. The crowd appeared to assume Obama meant weed, and they began to cheer.

"No, no, these were cigarettes, people," Obama said. "They escorted us out of Disneyland. I was booted from the Magic Kingdom!"

For what it's worth, Disney CEO Bob Iger tweeted Obama on Saturday, saying he's always welcome back at the park — as long as he doesn't light up a cigarette on a ride again.

Obama was in Anaheim to campaign for several local Democratic candidates. He and the entire party are trying to rally voters before midterm elections in November.

"This is a consequential moment in our history. The fact is if we don't step up things can get worse," Obama said. "When there is a vacuum in our democracy ... other voices fill the void. But the good news is in two months, we have a chance to restore some sanity in our politics. We have a chance to flip the House of Representatives."

Obama didn't ever mention Trump by name, which was a departure from the scathing speech he gave on Friday.

CBS Chief Les Moonves Is Stepping Down After More Women Accuse Him of Sexual Harassment and Assault

Six women accused CBS C.E.O. Les Moonves of sexual harassment in late July, and now, after an additional six women came forward on Sunday, the media executive is stepping down from the company.

CNN first reported the news, which came quickly after the Sunday morning report from Ronan Farrow — the journalist whose coverage of the Harvey Weinstein scandal helped spark the #MeToo and Time's Up movements — was published. The New Yorker article, which served as a follow-up to Farrow's initial report about Moonves' alleged harassment, detailed new accusations from six women who said Moonves sexually harassed or assaulted them in incidents that took place between the 1980s through the early 2000s.

"They include claims that Moonves forced them to perform oral sex on him, that he exposed himself to them without their consent, and that he used physical violence and intimidation against them," Farrow reported. "A number of the women also said that Moonves retaliated after they rebuffed him, damaging their careers."

One of the women, Phyliss Golden-Gottlieb, said she even filed a criminal complaint against Moonves late last year with the Los Angeles Police Department. She accused him of "physically restraining her and forcing her to perform oral sex on him, and of exposing himself to her and violently throwing her against a wall in later incidents."

Golden-Gottlieb worked with Moonves at Lorimar Television in the 1980s. Despite law enforcement officials saying that her allegations were "credible" and "consistent," prosecutors declined to pursue charges because the crimes' statue of limitations had expired.

Writer Jessica Pallingston also accused Moonves of forcing her to perform oral sex on him. She worked as his assistant in the 1990s, and after this happened, she said she repelled his sexual advances. This prompted him to become hostile, at one point even calling her a "cunt."

Moonves provided Farrow with a statement that acknowledged all three of these encounters, but he said they were consensual. "The appalling accusations in this article are untrue. What is true is that I had consensual relations with three of the women some 25 years ago before I came to CBS," the statement read. "And I have never used my position to hinder the advancement or careers of women. In my 40 years of work, I have never before heard of such disturbing accusations. I can only surmise they are surfacing now for the first time, decades later, as part of a concerted effort by others to destroy my name, my reputation, and my career. Anyone who knows me knows that the person described in this article is not me."

The New Yorker article detailed additional incidents of "unwanted kissing or touching by Moonves," bringing the total number of accusers to 12.

The CBS board of directors issued a separate statement: "CBS takes these allegations very seriously. Our Board of Directors is conducting a thorough investigation of these matters, which is ongoing,” CBS said in a statement. A representative for the CBS board reiterated the focus on the investigation in a separate statement. “The CBS Board of Directors is committed to a thorough and independent investigation of the allegations, and that investigation is actively underway."

CBS launched the investigation after Farrow's first report. According to Variety, it was the initial report that also started negotiations between Moonves and the CBS board on an exit agreement. He was initially set to receive a reported severance package of $100 million or more; however, many quickly spoke out against the possibility.

The Time's Up advocacy group also condemned the potential payout. "A man accused of rigorously reported allegations of harassment should not be rewarded with a golden parachute," a spokesperson for the group said in a statement. "Les Moonves walking away with a $100 million settlement sends a message to survivors everywhere that powerful men can act without fear of consequence. We remain in solidarity with the six women who bravely shared their stories, risking their own incomes and careers, as well as the untold other women who may still be afraid to speak out."

The statement continued, "One hundred million dollars is an enormous sum of money. In fact, it’s more than the average American woman will earn over the course of 50 lifetimes. Rather than reward an alleged predator, this $100 million could fund the legal defenses of countless women and men facing workplace harassment and abuse across the country.” Time’s Up included a link to its own Go Fund Me page, urging CBS leaders to “use this money to provide power and justice to victims of abuse."

Pallingston called the possible exit package "completely disgusting."

"He should take all that money and give it to an organization that helps survivors of sexual abuse," she said. After receiving backlash, it appears that's what CBS is now doing. Late Sunday afternoon, Farrow reported that "Moonves will no longer receive any of his exit compensation, pending the results of the independent investigation into the allegations, and that a portion of the amount he would have received will be donated to organizations focussed on sexual harassment and assault."

CNN reported that CBS' lawyers were finalizing details on Sunday, and a deal will be announced by Monday morning.

HC Wake-Up Call: Hurricane Florence, Continued Debate About NYT Op-Ed, &"Bullet Control"

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

States of Emergencies Declared as Hurricane Florence Approaches East Coast

What was initially just a tropical storm — dubbed "Florence"— has been upgraded to a hurricane. The National Hurricane Center announced the news on Sunday morning, saying, "All indications are that Florence will be an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane while it moves over the western Atlantic toward the southeastern United States."

Florence is expected to make landfall by Thursday or Friday, first hitting the Carolinas. If this happens, it'll be the first to do so since 1989. The governors for both North Carolina and South Carolina — as well as Virginia — declared states of emergency for Friday and Saturday. South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster said he has already asked President Trump for a federal disaster declaration.

The hurricane center also announced that two other big storms are brewing right behind Florence: Isaac and Helene. These are expected to turn into hurricanes, too.

The White House Continues to Discuss NYT Op-Ed

The author of the anonymous opinion piece published in The New York Times titled "I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration" has yet to be revealed, and the White House is still dealing with the aftermath. Kellyanne Conway — who already denied authoring the article — appeared on CNN's State of the Union on Sunday, and she went as far as suggesting that the justice department should investigate if there was any "criminal activity" involved. When the show's host, Jake Tapper, said that it didn't appear that anything illegal occurred, Conway replied, "I don't know that and I don't think you know that." However, she couldn't answer as to what sort of criminal action could be investigated. "I have no idea," she said when asked by Tapper.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon also discussed the op-ed on Sunday. To him, the article shows that the White House is facing a coup. "What you saw the other day was as serious as it can get. This is a direct attack on the institutions," he said, repeatedly calling the op-ed a "crisis."

As the search for the author continues, numerous White House officials are still maintaining their innocence. Vice President Mike Pence, who's been a prime suspect due to certain words used throughout the op-ed, even vowed on Sunday to take a lie detector test in order to prove he didn't write it. Whoever did, though, should come forward and step down, according to Pence. "Every senior official in any administration takes an oath to the Constitution. To have an individual who took that oath – literally say that they work every day to frustrate the president advancing the agenda he was elected to advance, is undemocratic," Pence said. "It’s not just deceitful, but it’s really an assault on our democracy. And that person should do the honorable thing, step forward and resign."

New Gun Control Attempt Underway in California: "Bullet Control"

California — the state with some of the most restrictive gun laws in the US — is taking action on the generally unrestricted sale of bullets. According to The New York Times, bullets are currently sold in vending machines in Pennsylvania, in feed depots in Nevada, in pharmacies in Georgia, and in jewelry stores in Texas, among other easily accessible places. When people attempt to purchase ammunition in these places, and across the US, they're typically met with no resistance. Federal law prohibits anyone who cannot legally buy a firearm from also buying bullets, but there's no system in place to enforce this rule. Most sellers don't even check identification.

California wants to curb the availability of bullets, and is doing so by enacting legislation specific to ammunition. The state's "pushed to limit internet sales, ban large-capacity magazines, require sellers to have licenses, raise taxes on bullets, and mandate serial numbers or other traceable markings on ammunition so that the police can more easily track them," the NYT reported.

The NRA has, of course, condemned California's actions. "It is wrong to treat California’s law-abiding gun owners like criminals," said Chris Cox, executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action.

California's regulations are either already enacted or set to take effect this year and next.

How to Get the Perfect Glow in 3 Easy Steps

$
0
0

Your first post-college summer is now dying down, but just because the high from finally graduating might have worn off by now, that doesn’t mean your skin has to suffer the consequences. We know it’s hard watching all your friends move back into the dorms for another year of college fun while you’re heading off to work every morning, but resist the urge to wallow. In fact, a little beauty-centric self-care might just do the trick to bring you back to your glowing, youthful self (because, yes, the new freshmen look absolutely tiny, but we promise you’re still young).

That’s why EVER has just what you need: the new Pretty Young Trio is your all-in-one routine for creating healthy-looking, youthful and glowing skin—nobody will be able to tell you lived off ramen noodles for the last four years. These three superfood skincare products are the perfect way to start a new skincare routine meant for your adult self. Even if you have no idea what you’re doing (which, let’s be real, that’s most of what adulthood is), this three-step routine couldn’t be more straightforward or effective. You always knew you were a PYT (thanks, MJ), and now you can look and feel like one, too.

1. Cleanse

A face with traces of old makeup, dirt or any germs from your pillowcase is not going to glow as luminously as a clean one, so clean your canvas before you start painting. EVER’s Beauty Water Makeup Removing Cleanser is all about clean beauty and powerful results—it contains watermelon, turmeric and prebiotics, all of which act to remove impurities and tone your skin. Plus, using micellar water is about as easy as cleansing gets, perfect for the on-the-go woman who doesn’t have much time to spare for a 10-step morning routine. Simply use a clean cotton pad and swipe BEAUTY WATER all over your face. By the end, you’ll be feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

2. Moisturize

In fact, not only do you want to hydrate your skin, but you also want to brighten it—these products are all about glowing from within, so you only want the best ingredients that will deliver long-term results. Enter the Glowtion Brightening Gel, which, like the rest of the Pretty Young Trio, is a product that packs a punch: apply a couple pumps of this to your face and you’ll immediately notice how it cools you down and goes from gel to liquid. It’ll make you appear and feel fresher. We think that’s the best way to feeling to start off the day with – who needs that morning coffee when your skincare routine can rejuvenate you?

3. Prime

And now for the big finish, for the truly perfect glow: you need to moisturize, apply some form of SPF for protection from the sun’s rays and prime your face before putting on any makeup. Lucky for you, EVER’s Canvas Priming Moisturizer does all three of those things in one step, so you can cut out extra time in your skincare routine (AKA allow yourself a couple extra minutes of shuteye before you really have to get up for work). It goes on as a gel, but dries to a powder finish, and has SPF 30 so you can say goodbye to that sticky sunscreen formula in your old products. Plus, it’s made of good-for-you ingredients, because EVER knows that you are what you put on your face.

And once you get home from work, kick off your shoes and sink into the couch, the thought of going through an arduous nighttime routine might sound like the last thing you want to do. EVER gets it, and that’s why the Order of Beauty for the PM is only two steps: cleanse your face with Beauty Water, and then apply some Glowtion to keep your pores hydrated—the watermelon rind extract, lentil extract and apple extract will be hard at work to keep your skin radiant while you drift off to sleep.

Adulting might be hard, but skincare doesn’t have to be. The Pretty Young Trio makes it easy for the skincare beginner, the busy bee and everyone in between to achieve a healthy, beautiful glow.

Let’s Talk About That ‘You’ Series Premiere Ending

$

0

Last night, Lifetime’s latest drama, You, premiered, and based off the last five minutes alone, the rest of the season is guaranteed to be the most intense kind of roller coaster ride. The entire episode was filled with scenes that leave you saying OMG, but the most shocking moment was saved for the end. But before we discuss that shocking conclusion, let’s take a quick look at how we got there.

****Warning: Spoilers ahead****

In only one hour, we met Joe (Penn Badgley) a clerk at a New York City bookstore and the object of his affection, a woman named Beck (Elizabeth Lail) who just so happens to be one of his customers. Over the course of the episode, Joe gets to know Beck, but not through any normal sort of courtship. Instead of wooing her with flirty banter and dates at the movies, Joe begins to stalk Beck, breaking into her home, hacking her computer and watching her during some of her most intimate moments. With all of this info in hand, Joe is able to orchestrate the perfect time to sweep Beck off her feet, after he rescues her when she drunkenly falls off a subway platform following her poetry reading. And while it looks like Joe and Beck are somehow destined to be together, there’s one problem: Beck is in a committed relationship with another questionable love interest—her entrepreneur boyfriend, Benji.

Still from Lifetime's You

But Joe is not one to let anyone stand in the way of him and his one true love. So, in the final minutes of the episode, after stealing Beck’s phone, Joe begins to catfish Benji. With the promise of helping Benji with his “artisanal soda” business (yeah, I have no idea what that is either), Joe meets up with Benji at the bookshop where he has a surprise for him—a blow to the head with a mallet used to repair books (as demonstrated to Joe’s young neighbor, Paco, earlier in the episode). Any normal show would end there since we’re pretty certain that Benji has been savagely murdered. But because this is You, we have to take the creep factor up a notch—which means, the next day, we see that Benji is still alive and he is being held captive in the book repair room (who knew book preservation could be so frightening?). Oh, and Beck? She returns to the bookstore to accept Joe’s offer of going for drinks.

While many red flags were raised throughout the episode (mainly concerning Joe’s stalking and Beck’s somewhat toxic relationships with literally everyone in her life), the ending was certainly one of the most unsettling parts, because it preyed on a fear so many of us have: how well do we really know the people in our lives? Beck thinks that she is entering a rom-com-esque romance with a quintessential “good guy,” when in actuality she is getting closer and closer to a predator (something that feels like a timely discussion in the #MeToo era).

And with a twist this big in only the first episode, one big question to ask is, where are things going to go from here? How long is it going to take for Beck to realize that Benji isn’t tied up with his artisanal soda company, but is literally tied up in Joe’s book room? How is Joe going to mange to keep a secret this big from Beck? Are we going to get to see more of Beck’s friends (because I personally want more Shay Mitchell on my TV screen)? And, of course, how is anyone going to be able to repair any books with Benji is the book room? If you have read Caroline Kepnes’s novel (as I have), you probably know the answers to some of these questions. But even if you think you know the direction You is headed in, don’t stop watching because You is looking like it will be one of this fall’s most twisty and juicy shows.

You airs Sundays at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

Seriously, we thought we were busy squelching our weekly identity crisis while simultaneously drowning out our chordate TA. However, Brittany Snow has been continually working on her long-time project, Love is Louder; directing her short film, Milkshake; and acting in Someone Great. Along with Love is Louder, which bolsters a supportive community for everyone, Brittany has also translated her empowering mission statement into her directorial debut. Beyond fostering a healthy environment and a women-centric crew on Milkshake, Brittany also told us about her supportive friendship with Anna Camp and working with empowering coworkers. TBH, if you haven't seen your bestie in ages, you might want to preemptively grab the tissue.

Also, don't worry: There aren't any contextual spoilers for any of Brittany Snow's upcoming films.

Her Campus: You star in the upcoming rom-com, Someone Great, alongside Gina Rodriguez, who also produces the Netflix movie. The movie itself is teeming with empowering messages about getting through breakups and empowering other women and friends in your life. Are any other lessons you hope viewers take away from this film or from your character Blair, specifically?

Brittany Snow: I think the really great message about Someone Great is that Jen Robinson, who wrote it, wanted to make a story about how no woman needs a white knight at the end of their movie to save them. You can be your own white knight, either for yourself or for your friends. And this is a story about, you know, friends getting through a breakup. And that your memories are so important to you, but they don't define you or your relationships and how you choose to have those relationships is what defines you. With my character, Blair, [she] thinks that her life needs to look a certain way, and she has a very strict set of goals for herself. What I learned throughout the movie is that I really do need to let go and let myself live, and that it's okay to not have everything worked out exactly how I thought. I can change and I can grow, and having those experiences is more important. So, each character in the movie goes through a different sort of lesson and it’s really about them all going through it together, and I think that's a great message for women as well.

HC: Definitely. I think that's a very influential message too, especially with Blair, because she kind of redefines what perfection means to her after going through these trials and tribulations.

BS: Yeah. She's a very perfect type of girl, and she really likes how other people see her and she likes being kind of that staple of perfection. And I think, throughout the story, she realizes that that's not real, and she can have these experiences and really let go and make her own idea of perfection.

HC: I think that's a beautiful message to inspire other people. Since Someone Great focuses on self-empowerment and empowering others, were there any unique ways you or your co-stars helped inspire each other on or off set?

BS: Oh, yeah. We all really, really got along. We just instantly bonded and the dynamics between us were really great. Because we're so different and we're all pretty big personalities, it seemed like that would be hard for us to all get along because we're all very loud and animated. But, it actually worked really well, and we support each other completely. We told each other everything, and we had so many stories. And the girls really helped me through a specific thing that I was going through. I was up for this job and I ended up turning it down. But they really, really coached me through it and made sure that I was making the right decision for me, in my life. It was just little things like that that made it great to go to work every day and just know that you're supported by strong, working, smart and passionate women. And it’s important for us.

HC: I bet that made it, like you said, easier to go to work, but also made you want to go to work because you had that supportive and fostering environments.

BS: Oh, yeah, definitely. It was one of those movies where I was really excited to go to work every day and I couldn't wait to see them. Jen, who's the director of the movie and a good friend of mine, she created a set where we just all got to play around and laugh, but also really inspire each other and teach each other things, and that was really cool.

HC: That sounds like the dream environment for any vocation.

BS: It really was. It was really hard to leave. We all cried because we didn't want this to end because there aren't many sets you go on and you just feel so inspired and supported.

HC: Definitely. Then you also recently directed and wrote your own short film, Milkshake, which focuses on the breadth of this relationship between a stage mom and her daughter. What initially drew you to create this project, and what inspired you to develop your career as a director?

BS: Well, I wrote this for many reasons, but it was definitely something that I felt I needed to write for me. I grew up as a child actor and was around a lot of stage mothers. It really was formed by this idea that I wanted to play with, which is that what you do is more important than who you are. And what is that fine line between a parent pushing their kid to be the best, or pushing their kids to be the best for them? I wanted to kind of ask a lot of those questions and have people watch it and wonder, did my parents push me too hard? Or was that because they loved me so much? Also what success really means and the validation that you get from doing something that makes you feel high, in a way, or fulfilled. And so, Milkshake was a therapeutic thing for me to write and then direct.

My friend Anna Camp stars in it and getting to direct her and Shree Crooks was just such a magical thing.  I’m very proud of it and hope people like it.

HC: What was it like to work with Anna again, this time as the director?

BS: It was so great. Anna is one of my best friends and we have this innate understanding that we don't even know where it came from, but we just get each other in such a way. We laugh at the same things. We have the same sense of humor, and so it was really easy to direct her because I know her so well, and I know what type of direction she needs. And, I know what kind of support she needs. Our communication is really great. So, I think, it's going to be hard to direct anyone else after that because I knew so, so well, how to make sure that we collaborated in that way. She's a talented actress and I think people will really be interested and excited to see her in this role.

HC: Absolutely. Do you have any memorable experiences working with her on set?

BS: Oh, yeah. I mean, she made me cry a lot. The whole experience made me cry. And I guess it was hard because we know each other. There was a lot of laughing and this isn't really a funny short film at all, but we just cracked up the entire time. She became such a mother figure and a mother type to Shree, which was really fun to watch. I mean, I don't know if there were any funny anecdotes or anything like that. I’ll have to think about that.

HC: Do you have any advice for college-aged women who might currently be working with their friends on a project and might be struggling to find that balance between personal and professional relationships?

BS: I mean, I'm a big proponent of making sure you work with your friends. I know that’s sometimes difficult because you don't want to mix business with friendship, and that can be hard. But, I love doing that. I think that your friends, if they are good friends, are the people that really want you to succeed and want to make sure they support your dreams in that way. Getting a bunch of your friends together and creating something, I think, is this everlasting sort of bond that you need for friendship. That’s what it's all about: creating cool things in the world, and just having the balls to do it, I guess. Just doing it, even though it's hard. Even though there are roadblocks and there could be fighting or disagreement or different opinions, just knowing at the end of the day, you're creating something together because of your friendship. I think that is really important. And stating what you want and being strong in that.

HC: That's awesome! You launched Love is Louder back in 2010, which helps communities create a more positive and supportive world. How do you think college women can help enact a more connected and supportive environment on their own campuses?

BS: I co-founded Love is Louder with the idea that everyone should feel connected and supported. That’s such a huge problem, specifically for teens and college-age kids that they feel like they're alone or disconnected. Or maybe they don't really fit into a particular group when really there are communities of people that are going through the same exact thing and feeling the exact same way. To be able to go to a place, specifically online, and meet other like-minded people and feel like you're not alone, it really helps so much. There's so many Love is Louder clubs and groups on college campuses now that have Love is Louder days and assemblies, and create art pieces and statements that just kind of allude to the fact that you're not alone and that everyone gets to be together in this. I hope that remains the message and that people continue to do that. So, I definitely think it's super important. I would love for college people to still be using Love is Louder in whatever ways they see fit to help them.

Cole Sprouse Just Gave #Bughead Fans What We've All Been Waiting For—A PDA-Filled Pic With Lili Reinhart

Remember when we made things “Facebook official” exactly 30 seconds into a new relationship? Not anymore. Now the move is to debut your relationship on social media as late as you possibly can. Get people talking a little bit.

It’s easy to forget that Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinheart (aka Riverdale’s Jughead and Betty, aka Bughead) weren’t officially official before. (Harper’s Bazaar estimates that people have been speculating about them since February 2017.) But if they weren’t then, maybe now we have some idea. Cole posted this picture (featuring HIS OWN TONGUE) last night. As Teen Vogueanalyzed, he’s posted pictures of Lili on his Insta before, but never one of the two of them in the same frame.

The picture’s caption reads, “It’s pretty, pretty late,” which refers to either the 4 a.m. posting time or the confirmation of the relationship relative to when speculation began. That mysterious twin-having man.

It’s pretty, pretty late

A post shared by Cole Sprouse (@colesprouse) on

We may be seeing more of this type of content from Cole soon. He announced in another Instagram post in August that he will start posting more personal photographs on Instagram soon.

(Right now I’m flashing back to when Cole only joined Tumblr as a “social experiment,” so we’ll see how well he’ll stick to this new social media promise.)

I’ve decided to start uploading some of my more personal photographs on this Instagram. If you’ve ever spent a bit of time with me, you’ll know I take my privacy quite seriously, much of that paranoia influenced by my youth. I understand social media will always carry a bit of a curated superficiality, but I have so many sentimental photos that, like a collector, I’ve kept in the original packaging for far too long. I’m hoping some of the photos I’ll be posting from here on out will feel a bit more...honest, as they do to me. Naturally, I’ll still be weaving my commercial and editorial work within this account, but why don’t we break it up a little? Keep up~

A post shared by Cole Sprouse (@colesprouse) on

Lili has started becoming less demure about their relationship on her own social media. Yesterday she tweeted about a nondescript “your bae” who for all intents and purposes I am interpreting as Cole. (Unless this relationship is also a social experiment and we’ve been duped this entire time. Sorry, I’m still bitter.)

A couple has their right to privacy, but I’m also kind of relieved that the two of them are no longer leaving it up to the fans to interpret their relationship. Good luck, Bughead!

First Josh Peck and now David Henrie—all the stars from my childhood are expecting and though I'm feeling old, I'm also super stoked. Yes, David Henrie, aka Justin from Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, is going to be a dad!

David and his wife, Maria Cahill, couldn't be more excited about their baby girl on the way, and the Instagram posts are proof. The 29-year-old actor posted a video of him and his wife finding out the gender of their baby with the caption, "ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL ITS A GIRL. Im a Poppa!!!!!!! Im so overwhelmed with joy I had to share this with you guys. I’m already singing 'I Loved Her First.' I can’t wait to sit her down on a couch and tell her a nine-season story of How I Met Your Mother."

OMG, how precious is that?!

On top of that, David has been actively posting plenty of Instagram stories about how ready he is to take on fatherhood, and how he plans to be the cheesiest dad ever. I can't wait to see it, honestly. Gimme all the dad posts, plz.

My biggest hope out of all of this excitement is not just that David fulfills his promise to be a cheesy daddio to his daughter, but that Selena Gomez is the godmother. I mean, how cool would that be? Not to mention nostalgic—my heart would be so full.

Robert Pattinson Discussed The Possibility Of A ‘Twilight’ Reunion, But I'm Not Sure It'll Actually Happen

A few weeks ago, I wrote about Twilight’s rerelease into theaters in honor of its 10-year anniversary this October, and it sure seems like a lot of people would be excited to see Twilight return. Robert Pattinson might not be one of those people.

Variety talked to Robert about his upcoming sci-fi movie High Life and Twilight inevitably came up, as I can imagine has been the case for the past ten years. “The amount of time I’ve spent moisturizing, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice,” he joked when asked about the possibility of a Cullen family reunion. “I’ve got the Botox out.”

It’s been very well-documented that Robert doesn’t take his role as immortal teenage vampire Edward Cullen too seriously, and it looks like that’s still the case. After all these years, he still feels the impact of his breakout role.

“I think I stopped mentally progressing around the time when I started doing those movies, so it feels like not a day has passed.”

Robert’s been spending his post-vampire years taking on artsy roles in indie films to expand his range, but he still understands the way Twilight has resonated with the public. “Whenever anyone says [‘Twilight’]’s their guilty pleasure, it’s like, you say guilty, what you really mean is just pleasure,” he said.

Although he says he might be down for a reunion or even another movie, there’s still a lot of other power players we’d need involved. Will Kristen Stewart be into it? Taylor Lautner? Only time will tell.

As per usual, Kim Kardashian West is the center of attention but this time, she's getting royally roasted on Twitter for saying she doesn't like having a big butt.

On Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kourtney pointed out that Kim's butt looks huge when she sits down, to which mama Kris replied that it wasn't a nice thing to say to her sister. Kourtney didn't agree, replying, "She likes having a big butt, I’m not saying anything offensive." Kim then came back at Kourtney to let her know that it actually drives her to tears. "No I don’t," Kim said. "I cry about it on the daily." This conversation started an Internet storm of reactions, and they weren't positive.

In response to the article from PEOPLE about the conversation, Twitter users went off, and the responses are highly entertaining.

Whether or not you care about Kim's a**, you have to admit the responses are hilarious. Oh, Kim, if only you knew what other people deal with on a daily basis. If my butt was the only cause of my tears, I'd be doing pretty okay in life, TBH.

John Legend Is the First Black Man to Reach EGOT Status & Chrissy Teigen's Celebratory Insta Post Will Make Your Heart Melt

John Legend is officially a legend. On Sunday, September 9, Legend won an Emmy at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for his work on “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert.” With this win, the actor and singer became the first black man to achieve EGOT status, which means Legend has won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony — a collection of awards held by only 12 other people.

Legend and his fellow composers, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, each took home a Creative Arts Emmy for their work on “Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert,” placing all three men in the coveted EGOT group. However, what makes Legend’s win so legendary is that he is the first black man to receive the exclusive status. The first black woman to reach EGOT status was Whoopi Goldberg. She received the honor in 2002 after she won a Daytime Emmy for outstanding class special for “Beyond Tara: The Extraordinary Life of Hattie McDaniel,” according to Billboard.

But besides being the first black man to receive this honor, Legend also tied for the youngest person to ever achieve EGOT status. According to The Huffington Post, Legend, 39, is tied with “Frozen” and “The Book of Mormon” songwriter Robert Lopez, who had just turned 39, the youngest at the time to complete the quadfecta.

The “All of Me” singer has won 10 Grammys so far during his music career, a Tony for best play revival as a co-producer of “Jitney” and Oscar in 2015 for best original song for “Glory,” which was featured in the movie “Selma,” HuffPost reports.

Legend celebrated his win Sunday with his fellow composers, sharing a picture on Instagram and captioning it, “So happy to be part of this team. So honored they trusted me to play Jesus Christ. So amazed to be in such rarefied air.”

To celebrate the momentous occasion, Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen, posted several pictures in honor of Legend, including sharing the picture of Legend and his fellow composers, captioning the photo, “EGOT GOATS.”

Teigen then shared a photo of her affectionately kissing Legend on the cheek, writing, “my incredible man. what a surreal life.”

The caption is hilarious, though, as it’s a not-so-subtle nod at the fact that Teigen thinks Legend looks like Arthur. It’s both hilarious and cute that Teigen is still able to troll and poke at her husband even during big moments like this.

Congrats to John Legend for this historic win! You are truly are, as your wife says, an EGOT GOAT.

Amanda Guyger, a Dallas police officer, has officially been arrested and charged with manslaughter after fatally shooting a black man inside his own home. Guyger had just finished her 15 hour shift and claims to have mistaken 26-year-old Botham Jean’s house with her own, according to New York Post. This event sparked outrage on social media, with many people asking for her arrest and justice to the family.

Right after the event Guyger was asked to take a leave of absence. However, following new evidence, the Dallas District Attorney’s Office has filed charges.

According to CBS46, the arrest affidavit reads that Guyger had entered the wrong apartment due to using a key on the door which was unlocked and slightly ajar. On her account, she had seen a large dark figure and gave verbal commands to leave to the presumed burglar. When those were ignored, she shot twice, then called 911. She was asked where she was, and it wasn't until she turned on the lights that she realized she was in the wrong apartment.

Lee Merritt, the lawyer hired to represent Jean's family in this case, tweeted out this message.

A vigil was held for Jean on Saturday, September 8 to honor Jean's life. His classmates, co-workers, family and friends came together to mourn the community’s loss.

Miss Michigan Called Out the Flint Water Crisis During Her Miss America Intro & Twitter Users Are Applauding Her Activism

Miss Michigan may not have won the crown at the Miss America competition on September 9th, but she certainly earned admiration online for her activism and willingness to use her Miss America introduction to highlight a critical issue: the Flint Water Crisis.

Emily Sioma, who represented Michigan in the Miss America pageant on Sunday night, used her introduction statement as a chance to bring light to her state’s ongoing water crisis. According to Hello Giggles, in 2014, Flint, Michigan switched its water source in an attempt to cut costs, but it ended up exposing its residents to high levels of toxins and lead. Four years later, the water is still not safe to drink.

Concerns about unsafe water has spread to other parts of the state as well. The Detroit Free Press reported last week that drinking water was cut off in Detroit public schools due to concerns about safe drinking levels, forcing students to drink from water coolers and bottled water.

“From a state with 84 percent of the U.S. fresh water but none for its residents to drink, I am Miss Michigan, Emily Sioma,” she said during the Miss America broadcast.

People on Twitter were moved by Sioma’s activism and call to action regarding her state’s ongoing water crisis.

One Twitter user even used Nike’s new slogan from its 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign to applaud Sioma’s introduction.

Another Twitter user said they loved “woke” Miss America.

Sioma told ABC News that “it wasn't a very spur of the moment decision,” saying that she thought about making a statement about the water crisis two days before the competition.

“I had this gut feeling that if I didn't make it into the top 15, I would never have a chance to be able to speak on national television about something that was important to me, or to make the moment meaningful,” Sioma said.

“I just really wanted to make sure people understood this isn't just about Flint anymore. It still is about Flint but it's about the communities across the state that are impacted by contaminated water,” Sioma added.

Sioma acknowledged that her statement “was very hyperbolic,” but said she wanted to drive the point home.

According to ABC News, the statistics she cited, in regards to the Great Lakes making up 84 percent of North America’s surface fresh water, come from the Environmental Protection Agency.

The Great Lakes, however, are not just limited to Michigan; different parts of the various lakes cross over into jurisdictions of other states and even Canada. In regards to her comment that “none” of the residents receiving that water, Sioma said, “We know that's not true.”

“It wasn't supposed to be an educational lesson. It was supposed to be a call to action,” she said.

Sioma said she was pleased with the mostly positive response her introduction has received.

“Having this opportunity to reignite the conversation about the water crisis in Michigan... that to me is more about what Miss America is than just winning a crown,” she said.
