It's the best of both worlds—cookies and donuts have come together, and now you never have to choose between the two again! We've simplified this recipe from Studio DIY so that you can feel like a pro baker without all the added effort.

What you'll need:

  • Betty Crocker gingerbread cookie mix
  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter or margarine
  • Classic white canned frosting
  • Sprinkles
  • Round cookie cutter

Step One:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.

Mix gingerbread cookie mix, flour, water and melted butter in a medium size bowl. Stir until dough forms.

Step Two:

Roll out the dough and cut large circles with your cookie cutter. Then, cut a smaller circle in the center of your large dough circles, resembling a donut. Keep re-rolling and cutting donuts out of your dough until you’ve used it all.

Step Three:

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are firm. Let your freshly-baked cookies cool for one minute after removing them from the oven.

Step Four:

Once the cookies have cooled, frost them with a butter knife. Feel free to frost with a piping bag if you want to be extremely precise.

Dress up your donut-shaped gingerbread cookies with sprinkles, colored frosting or other edible decor.

If you like to DIY your holiday gifts, then you have to try this recipe. Your friends and family will LOVE your trendy take on classic gingerbread. These cookies also happen to make a great dessert for your next holiday get together. Happy baking, collegiettes!
