It might happen without you realizing it, but living on your own in college means increased maturity and beginning the transition into adulthood. Figuring out your career path and taking classes in your major are obvious indicators of growing up, but here are some telltale signs you’ll be acting like your parents in no time.
1. You no longer hate your siblings
You might still find your sister's habits annoying, but you're now learning that she's very valuable for teaming up against your parents!
2. You're starting to appreciate your parents
You'll never quite understand the necessity of a curfew while you're home on break, but growing up means realizing how much your parents have sacrified for you over the years and how much you really love them.
3. You've made your own doctor's appointments
There's nothing quite as scary as the day you realize you're the oldest person in the pediatrician's office by five years.
4. You go to bed at a reasonable hour
Late nights of partying and studying have started taking their toll on you, and growing up means forcing yourself to get some sleep once in awhile!
5. You try not to hold grudges
Gone are the days where petty little fights lasted more than a few minutes. You're now able to take some things with a grain of salt (no matter how many times your roommate "forgets" to replace the toilet paper).
6. You've perfected the art of laundry
Yes, this day unforunately has to come. You'll mess up a few times and dye some white clothes red, but it's all in the name of becoming more independent!
7. You have to pay income taxes (from your mimimum wage job...ugh)
When you start complaining about how much money comes out of your paycheck, you know you aren't just a little girl anymore.
8. You have a resume
Once you start joining clubs just for fun and thinking about how they'll look to potential employers, you can no longer deny that you're becoming a real person!
