Sia & Maddie Ziegler Make Eerie Look Good

Sia and her mini-me, Maddie Ziegler, have given us a trio of tragically beautiful music videos from Sia’s 1000 Forms of Fear album. The Aussie songstress draws from her complicated history of alcohol and addiction to create music that is both heartbreaking and poigant. Sia often performs without showing her face to the audience because she has stated she is very shy and isn’t interested in being in the spotlight. She describes fame as an “abusive mother-in-law.”

Despite her reluctance to embrace fame, Sia has succeeded in creating one of the most innovative and unusual triptych of pop videos that we can think of. They're not quite in the vein of Ok Go’s treadmills or Beyoncé’s visual album, but are just as worthy of repeat watching... something that is uniquely Sia's own: magical with a touch of sadness.

The newest installment of her music video trio, “Big Girls Cry,” is also the final video from her current album. This marks the last time we’ll see Ziegler perform in a Sia video, though something tells us a partnership this perfect isn't going to end for good (or at least, we hope not). The video is directed by Daniel Askill, who is also responsible for the previous two installments, “Chandelier,” and “Elastic Heart,” in which Maddie performed with Shia LaBeouf.

It will be hard to forget the drama and unusual nature of Sia’s world. We can only hope that this final video is not the last time we’ll get to experience her incredible artistry.
