Is This the End for 'Fashion Police'?

Many rumors have been flying around about what E! is going to do with Fashion Police. After Joan Rivers passed away it seemed no one could replace her hilarious and harsh sense of humor. As it turns out, Kathy Griffin was up for the challenge and signed on for the new season. After Giuliana Rancic's controversial comments about Zendaya, Fashion Police has gotten a lot of backlash about being too harsh on celebrities and commenting not only on their outfits, but bashing their physical appearances, too. In the midst of the controversy, Kelly Osbourne (who has been a part of the show from the start), decided to quit altogether.

In a similar move, Kathy Griffin released a statement that she was leaving the show as well, and for a pretty good reason. As she explained to the Chicago Sun Times, "There is a chasm of difference between making a joke about Miley Cyrus wearing duct tape over her nipples out in public (which I think is totally fair game) and simply looking at a photo of her on a red carpet and saying she is ugly or a bad singer or pathetic or something like that.” Celebs like Lena Dunham have praised Griffin for stepping up and refusing to continue to be a part of a show that tears others down. So what does the future hold for Fashion Police? It's all up in the air right now, although E! claims the show will go on. We're not sure anyone will truly want to join the cast, and honestly canceling the show may be the best option. It's important to celebrate the unique styles of individuals, not publicly ridicule them on television. The show is scheduled to return on March 30th, so it looks like we'll just have to wait and see.
