No, Hermès is not the latest Target fashion collaboration. BUT! The former creative director of Hermès, Christophe Lemaire, is teaming up with Uniqlo to create a capsule collection at wallet-friendly prices. He brought creations like these to the Hermès runway:
Amaze, right? The French designer left Hermès to focus on his own line last summer. It seems as though he will be working overtime, as his men's and women's collection for Uniqlo is scheduled to debut in the fall.
Uniqlo, whose stores are primarily overseas in Japan and China, is known for its simple basics that are at a reasonable price point. In case you need evidence of that, right now they have jeans for $39.90! Not too shabby.
Lemaire has fond feelings towards Japan in particular, as his own line has been well-received there. His eponymous line is currently available at a luxury price point, but we are expecting to have Lemaire in our closests for much less come the fall.
Before Hermès, Lemaire led Lacoste for nine years. Can we expect a scarf-polo combination of some sort? Only the fall will tell.
