If you're anything like us, you've probably been hoarding Dr. Pepper Lip Smackers ever since Bonne Belle released a statement last month saying that they were planning to lay off all 91 of their employees and close their Ohio manufacturing facility.
But have no fear! There's no need to buy up every tube of Lip Smacker you set eyes on; it turns out the company has been sold to Markwins International Corp., owners of Physicians Formula and Wet n Wild.
After much outcry from devoted fans, the company posted this on their Facebook page:
"Thank you everyone for your concern and loyalty for the Bonne Bell Company. We are overwhelmed with all the Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell Cosmetics love you have all shown over the years! The Lip Smacker and Bonne Bell brands have been sold but WILL continue to be available for purchase in the US and internationally. This is a revamping to the brands and we are excited to see what the future holds! So don't worry, you won't have to live in a Lip Smacker-less world!"
Let's all breathe a sigh of relief—the '90s beauty staple is here to stay. All this talk of revamping has got everyone excited and could possibly mean some new modern flavors. We're thinking maybe Nutella? Or cronut?
What new Lip Smacker flavor would you love to see, collegiettes?
