Rumors of a celeb feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have floated around for a while, but there weren't ever really any direct jabs sent in either direction (though there were some pretty telling Tweets). The latest development, however, proves that Perry may not actually be at odds with Swift.
In the March issue of Elle magazine, Perry called T. Swift a sweetheart when the magazine asked who would be playing what if today's pop icons were in a soap opera. "You've got to name someone the villain, someone the princess, someone the mom-, the dad-type—you know there always have to be characters," she told the mag. "And the media uses that. As pop figures, we're all characters. Who is the sweetheart, who is the villain? You know. Taylor's the sweetheart. Kanye's the villain. That's the narrative."
Last year, Swift hinted at a rift between her and Perry in a Rolling Stone article after describing the inspiration behind her song"Bad Blood." In September, Perry then took to Twitter with the message: "Watch out for the Regina George in sheep's clothing."
Right now there's no way to tell if she was playing nice, speaking her true feelings or even being sarcastic, but one thing is for sure—we won't be taking sides if they are in a feud... we simply love them both too much!
