Each year, style insiders flock to the fashion capitols of the world to get a first look at each designers' fall/winter and spring/summer collections. Year after year, these creations never cease to amaze us—but each season turns out a few truly stand-out shows that simply wow us with everything from the awe-inspiring sets to the beautiful styling. In case your front row tickets mysteriously disappeared in the mail during this year's shows, we've put together all the best runway moments from 2014's runways!

1. Chanel – Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear

Chanel girls... they're just like us! Or at least, that's what Karl Lagerfeld would have us think when he put his models in of-the-moment sneakers as they perused through an entirely Chanel-branded grocery store—which, yes, included real food marked with Chanel on the packaging. Plus—we always love a good Cara/Karl moment on the runway!

2. Marc Jacobs – Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear

Marc Jacobs' fall collection absolutely blew us away. Of course, there was the Kendall Jenner appearance—but the show was a true work of art. Mystical clouds dangled overhead and hauntingly beautiful music played as models floated down the runway, seemingly more emotionless than usual, giving us the chills—in a good way. If anything, this show was an enchanting and gripping performance.

3. Opening Ceremony – Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear

Of course, there were the beautiful clothes: Asymmetrical cuts, graphic patterns, textured fabrics and so much more. Basically, this collection makes up the wardrobe of the girl who exudes an effortlessly cool vibe. But then, there was also the wall of chocolate that streamed down harder as the show went on... we're not sure which part we liked better.

4. Alexander Wang – Fall 2014 Ready-to-Wear

Alexander Wang pulled out all the stops in his fall show this year—the collection featured on-point coats in the modern, sometimes futuristic silhouettes the designer is known for, and sleek over-the-knee boots we could only dream of adding to our wardrobes. But the greatest part of the show? His on-point, tech-infused finale, which featured models on a rotating stage wearing heat-activated leather that changed color as the stage spun them slowly across large metal vents. Watch the entire show above!

5. Oscar de la Renta – Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

In his final runway show before his tragic passing, the designer presented a stunning array of sophisticated ensembles that played to women’s style desires—his signature. Karlie Kloss modeled a look inspired by the season’s biggest trends of black-and-white, cutouts and callbacks to the fashions of decades ago.

6. Anya Hindmarch – Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

We still can't get over the bags from this spring collection! Remember when you used to decorate your school binders with stickers, or your backpack with colorful pins? Well, these bags are the modern, grown-up version of that. With fun, quippy sayings like "Wow!" and "bags have feelings too," these bold pieces literally make a statement.

7. Moschino – Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

How could we leave out Moschino's Barbie collection? The brand is known for making pop culture references in its shows (remember the McDonald's-themed one from the previous season? Who knew large fries could be so chic...), and we couldn't think of a line who'd do Barbie better. While we can't imagine ourselves pulling off these all-pink ensembles, it was still a fun show to see!

8. Opening Ceremony – Spring 2015 Ready-to-Wear

This forward-thinking brand made our list again with their spring/summer 2015 collection. The line wasn't presented on your classic runway—instead, designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon brought a Spike Jonze-directed play to the Metropolitan Opera stage. Featuring a star-studded cast including Dree Hemingway, Karlie Kloss, Elle Fanning, Rashida Jones and more, the play was a satire on all the drama that comes with New York Fashion Week. Above, Elle plays an over-enthusiastic new model.

Now that you've relived the best runway moments of 2014, tell us—which ones were your favorites, collegiettes?
