Parent's weekend is right around the corner—and that can mean a lot of things, like meeting your S.O.'s parents for the first time. The event is nerve-racking to begin with, so we're here to help you give a great first impression by putting your best face forward. Check out our beauty do's and don'ts for meeting the parents!

The most important thing to remember is, less is more! But there's still a way to let your personal style shine through even the most neutral look.

Rosy-Cheeked and Fresh-Faced

DO Pick a blush color that flatters you. A peachy-pink shimmer is a universally flattering color on all skin colors. Add a touch of bronzer for the ultimate glow. Use NARS Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm and Laguna ($42 or $24 for the Mini) for a gorgeous touch of color.

DON'T Pile on the foundation—it will only give you a caked-on appearance. Pro tip: Combine your primer with your tinted moisturizer for the perfectly dewy complexion.

Doe-Eyed Cutie

DO Let your personality shine but make sure to tone it down a notch. Like cat eyes? Try this kitty eye instead! Instead of a long flick, do a short and shallow one to give your eyes just a little lift.

DO Opt for a naturally neutral eye look that will make your eyes pop. Taupe is a wonderful color that looks great on a number of skin tones. Use a light shimmery color underneath your brow bone to give the doe-eyed effect. DON'T Forget to use mascara to finish off the look. Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection ($36) has all the colors to perfect your look—but just 1-2 coats will suffice, no need to pull out the dramatic lashes.

DON'T Go crazy and try out a new makeup look you're not comfortable with. That smokey eye you haven't yet mastered? Save that for another time and another place.

Perfectly Poutty

DO Make sure to exfloliate your lips so that they don't appear cracked and flaky.

DON'T wear highly-pigmented lipstick and opt for a sheer gloss or balm close to your lip shade instead. Chances are there'll be cheek kissing and hugging and it would be a total mood killer if you got your sweet candy apple red on his mother's outfit.

But if lip color is your thing, DO opt for a no-stray lipstain or a tinted lip balm. Fuschia is a wonderful twist on the classic pink lips that is universally flattering and shows off your sparkling personality. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick ($19) is a vibrant moisturizing lip crayon that stays on all night.

Want a more mature look? DO use a mocha lipstick or lipstain and fill out your brows for a take-charge and sophisticated look. Try on Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Margaret ($19) for a new look!

Prim and Proper

DO make sure your nails are clean and done.

DON'T wear a super strong fragrance. Opt for a light and floral one instead.

We know this is a given, but DO make sure you shower, shave, brush your teeth and wash your hair. You want to make sure you make the right first impression!

What do you collegiettes think of the tips? Are you ready to meet the parents?
