If you know me, you know sporting my natural hair is usually a no-go. I have fine, wavy hair, but it never comes out like the girls in the movies. It’s frizzy, tangled, and never actually wavy or curly. So, yeah, I’m about to make hairdressers everywhere cringe: I curl my hair almost every day. Curling my hair every day can require a lot of patience and skill, of which I have neither. I don’t like the way overnight styles turn out, so I deal with the 20 minutes I spend every morning working my tresses. My one true gem that makes styling way easier? I don’t know how to explain it, it’s just magical. The shape and hold is so much more aesthetically pleasing than curling irons I’ve had in the past. I probably sound really high-maintenance by saying I curl my hair every day, but I get away with being really lazy about it. I don’t use the clamp—all I do is wrap my hair tightly around the iron, on the 365° setting (you can set the iron to 325°F, 365°F, 400°F and 425°F). I hold each curl for about 10-15 seconds, unwrap it, then just let it sit and cool until I’m finished with all of my hair. What I really think is special about this iron is it grips your hair in place as you wrap it, so you don’t have to worry about it sliding around the whole time. I’ve found this makes it easier to keep the shape of my curls consistent because it stinks when you have one small, tight curl and one huge, loose curl. With the help of the iron’s grip, it seals in moisture, boosts shine and keeps my Florida frizz under control.
