A Case For The Anklet — How to Actually Style This Trend You Never Thought You'd Try

Personally, I love a little bling. From a young age, I loved stealing my mom’s jewelry or rocking my half of a Claire’s BFF necklace. The coolest I ever felt though, was when I strut around my elementary school iced out in an anklet, so you can imagine my excitement in hearing that they’re back.

With summer here and all the ‘90s shoe trends returning, I can’t think of a better time for this comeback. What looks better with a tan than an anklet? And while I’m sure you can find some cute options at your local Claire’s, I gathered a few pieces that might be a little more elegant and trendy now.

Lucky Charms

How cute are these little charms? I love the contrast of the dainty anklet with sneakers. You can also style these charms with platform sandals or neutral heels so they really stand out. There’s a bunch of charm options I love (Sterling Silver Charm Anklet, Amazon, $20; shop now).

Keep It Simple

Maybe you prefer minimal jewelry, or don’t want to take away from your shoes. A basic anklet like this is perfect for any occasion and any outfit. Try this minimal style (Layered Chain Anklet Set, Forever 21, $4; shop now).

Okay, I never expected this edit on an anklet, but I kind of love it. I also love the layering of it over the fishnets. Try pairing this style with a graphic tee and sneakers. To channel your inner rocker, try this layered anklet (Multi-Chain Anklet, Urban Outfitters, $18; shop now).
Since my childhood anklet is probably lost now, I’m adding all of these to my cart ASAP. I can’t wait to style this trend again. Which edit was your favorite?
