After all of our theories on the possibility of new music from Taylor Swift, the pop singer may have just given us a major hint that she is getting ready to drop something on April 26th, according to a new, mysterious countdown clock she released on her Instagram account and website.
At midnight on April 13th (there’s that lucky 13!), the Delicate singer did a complete overhaul of her social media accounts, replacing her Reputation album profile picture with a dreamy picture of a cloud, similar to all of the other dreamy, pastel-colored filters she has been posting lately on social media lately.
Swift also dropped a mystery countdown clock on her Instagram Story that is counting down to April 26th, and her website features the same countdown with a sign up to receive updates, Popsugar reports. And you can bet we signed up for that mailing list as fast as we could.

She posted the April 26th date across all of her social media channels, too, along with a glitzy photo of pink diamonds patterned together to make a heart.
The pop singer also posted a picture of what appears to be her in a pale yellow jacket with sparkly, diamond-like buttons, along with lots of jeweled rings. One ring is even shaped like a heart (more hearts!). Swift captioned the picture with the same April 26th date.
In an article Swift wrote for Elle Magazine titled 30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30, she explains that countdown clocks have provided a “tiny bit of relief” as it helps her to look forward to the positive things in life.
“I make countdowns for things I’m excited about,” she wrote. “When I’ve gone through dark, low times, I’ve always found a tiny bit of relief and hope in getting a countdown app (they’re free) and adding things I’m looking forward to. Even if they’re not big holidays or anything, it’s good to look toward the future. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed in the now, and it’s good to get some perspective that life will always go on, to better things.”
According to a video blog from Perez Hilton posted online last year, Swift revealed that new music would be coming in 2019 at the latest.
“What I did say to Taylor was I would love it if the next album had a song called ’30’ to keep up the continuation — she had ‘Fifteen,’ she had ’22,'” Hilton said. “She’s like, ‘Oh, well, the next album will definitely be out before I’m 30.'”
Swift’s 30th birthday will be in December.
And according to Entertainment Weekly, Swift had been spotted back in the recording studio in January, so it seems highly plausible that new music is on the way.
Plus, Swift did tell fans in her acceptance speech at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards that if there was new music, we would be the first to know.
So maybe all of this is Swift’s way of telling us that something is coming. Whatever it is, it definitely seems like a new T. Swift era is here.
