What's In, What's Out for Festival Season

It’s that time of year again and festival season is right around the corner!  With Woodstock’s 50th anniversary coming up, it’s no surprise to see tons of boho and western trends hitting the runway for the SS ‘19 season, starting with Tory Burch and Jonathan Simkhai at New York Fashion Week. However, we at Her Campus are asking, are they all that worth the hype?

The Coachella FOMO is definitely real seeing all of these trends gracing our Insta feeds. Here are some of the best (and worst) festival trends we’ve seen so far:

Neon

Seems like everyone this year is daring to go a bit bolder by wearing vibrant hues of pink, yellow, orange, and green. This is a trend we haven’t seen revived in a while and we’re looking forward to seeing it this season!

Fringe

The wicked wild west has taken over the runway this year and it’s not all just cowboy shoes and funky hats. Fringe is back and better than ever, but it’s hard to pull off unless you’re Stevie Nicks (we wish). This trend definitely is a miss from me for festival season.

Tie Dye

The '60s and '70s have OFFICIALLY returned in this retro trend and we’re kinda living for it. Also, it looks super comfy, always a plus!

Sequins

Another flop for me for trends this year is sequins. Not really into sporting anything that reminds me of my days of sequin tops from Justice, personally. Sequins are really easy to look tacky as well. Instead of this trend, I recommend trying different fun and flirty textures like satin or silk.

What do you think?  Will you be rocking these trends at your local music fest or are deciding if these trends are really worth it or not? Tweet us and let us know! And show us your festival looks by tagging @HerCampusStyle on Instagram.
