Chanel announces new Creative Director following Karl Lagerfeld's death
Yesterday the whole world was shaken with the news of the death of Karl Lagerfeld at just 85 years old. Lagerfeld, who was most well known as his role as the creative director of Chanel, worked hard to keep Coco Chanel's vision in her brand.
Chanel released a statement hours after the news of his death to announce that his assistant, close friend, and former Artistic Director for the brand, Virginie Viard, would be taking over as Creative Director.
Following the statement, the brand (and us) hope that she will follow Lagerfeld's desire and passion to stay true to Chanel's original vision instead of morphing the brand into something new.
Calvin Klein releases new Spring 2019 campaign featuring all of our current favorite celebrity heartthrobs
Hold the effing phone — Noah Centineo and Shawn Mendes in the SAME Calvin Klein ad?! The dreamy pair joins Kendall Jenner and A$AP Rocky in the new SS19 campaign, aiming to “capture the raw and honest emotions and experiences of youth today”. The shoot by British fashion photographer Glen Luchford took place in sunny suburban L.A. and featured styling by Melanie Ward.
According to the brand, the latest installment of the #MyCalvins narrative is centered around “the coming-of-age concept that evokes universal truths of curiosity, companionship, sexual exploration, and the spirit of rebellion.”
Burberry releases a statement apologizing after London Fashion Week show
Burberry is back in the news for this season's fashion month, but this time in a not so positive light. Burberry showcased a model wearing a tan hoodie with its strings tied in what appears to be a noose down the AW'19 runway.

The brand's creative director, Riccardo Tisci, has since apologized for the design in a statement: "While the design was inspired by a nautical theme, I realize that it was insensitive." The sweatshirt has now been removed from the brand's collection.
What do you think? Are the Calvin Klein ads leaving you going'woah, woah, woah' in Noah Centineo fashion? How will Chanel's leadership change impact the brand's future? WTF was Burberry thinking?
