Demi Lovato took to Twitter on Friday night to set the record straight about recent tabloid reports. She also said she's "sober and grateful to be alive" after an alleged overdose in July.

"I love my fans, and hate tabloids. Don't believe what you read. People will literally make up stuff to sell a story. Sickening," Demi tweeted. "If I feel like the world needs to know something, I will tell them MYSELF. Otherwise people stop writing about my recovery, because it’s no one’s business but mine. I am sober and grateful to be alive and taking care of ME."

Demi also wrote that "any 'source' out there that is willing to talk and sell stories to blog and tabloids" about her life isn't actually a part of her life. Plus, most of what she reads is "inaccurate."

In November, Demi completed three months of treatment in a rehabilitation center, and has recently returned to social media. She added on Friday that one day she might reveal what exactly happened back in July, but she's not ready to talk about it yet.

"Someday I’ll tell the world what exactly happened, why it happened and what my life is like today.. but until I’m ready to share that with people please stop prying and making up shit that you know nothing about," Demi tweeted. "I still need space and time to heal.."

The singer concluded her tweets by saying she's "blessed" and that she loves her fans. "I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready," Demi wrote. "I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so fucking much. thank you."

Back when Demi was hospitalized, her fans wanted to show their support and appreciation — so a large group of them gathered at Atlantic City Beach for an impromptu concert where Demi had been scheduled to perform. Videos captured them holding encouraging signs, singing Demi's song "Sober," and shouting things like "We still love you!"
