Kimberly-Clark recalled regular absorbency U by Kotex Sleek Tampons after reports that the tampons were unravelling inside of users.
According to a press release by the organization, there were reports of tampons “unraveling and/or coming apart upon removal, and in some cases causing users to seek medical attention to remove tampon pieces left in the body.”
The tampons being recalled were distributed for sale between October 17th and October 23rd. The lot numbers affected by the recalled are available via the press release from Kimberly-Clark, The Washington Post reports.
WebMD reported that users who develop vaginal pain, bleeding, or discomfort, vaginal itching or swelling, bladder and/or vaginal bacterial and/or yeast infections, or other symptoms such as hot flashes, abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting should seek immediate medical attention.
Kimberly-Clark also advises that users who experience issues with their products contact their customer service team.
Kimberly-Clark said that they would continue to prioritize customer safety and are putting systems in place to prevent this from happening again, according to The Washington Post.
