Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Reportedly Hired Private Firefighters For Their Neighborhood

Most Southern California residents have evacuated and left their homes in the hands of firefighters as the state's deadliest and costliest wildfire rages on. But Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are going a step further — TMZ reported that the couple hired a private team of firefighters to protect their home and others surrounding it.

The Woolsey fire was apparently approaching Kimye's Hidden Hills mansion on Friday. Had the blaze reached their house, it likely would've had "a domino effect" on the whole neighborhood since it's located at the end of a cul-de-sac and a field.

According to TMZ, the private firefighters fought the approaching flames in addition to digging ditches to create a fire break. The efforts ended up saving the house and others on the block. The couple's neighbors have apparently been expressing their thanks.

Kim revealed in videos on her Instagram story that she, Kanye, and their kids were leaving their house Thursday night. A total of 52,000 people have been evacuated since the fires — Camp, Woolsey, and Hill — began. Here's a breakdown of the numbers via CBS News:
