Mueller Requests FBI to Investigate Sexual Misconduct Scheme Targeting Him

Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reportedly asked the FBI to investigate an alleged scheme to concoct sexual misconduct allegations against him.

According to NBC News, an email had been circulated to journalists over the past month from a woman who alleges that she had been approached and offered thousands of dollars if she would say that Mueller, who is currently investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, had harassed her, and to sign a sworn affidavit accusing Mueller of sexual misconduct.

“When we learned last week of allegations that women were offered money to make false claims about the Special Counsel, we immediately referred the matter to the FBI for investigation,” Peter Carr, the special counsel’s spokesperson, said in an email.

The woman identified herself as Lorraine D. Parsons to Politico, allegedly worked at worked at the law firm Pillsbury, Madison and Sutro at the same Mueller did in 1974. Reporters said she was supposed to allege that the sexual misconduct took place during that time.

NBC News gave the woman’s name to the spokesperson for the law firm, which is now called Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, who said that they “have no record of this individual working for our firm.”

In an email to Politico, Parsons said that a man named Bill Christensen contacted her by phone to inquire about Mueller.

“I’m not sure how he knew that I ever worked there or worked with Robert Mueller. I reluctantly told Mr. Christensen that I had only worked with Mr. Mueller for a short period of time, before leaving that firm to have my first son,” she wrote in her email.

The woman said Christensen “then changed his tone, and mentioned that he might be able to help me pay off some debt. He knew exactly how much credit card debt I had, right down to the dollar, which sort of freaked me out.”

Parsons said she told the man that she was not interested in the offer and disconnected the call. She said he called her back a few days later, now offering to pay off $34,000 in credit card debt and write her an additional $20,000 check if she came forward with accusations against Mueller. Parsons was also offered a $10,000 bonus Christensen’s client, Republican lobbyist Jack Burkman.

In a Facebook video posted on Tuesday, Burkman said that he is planning a press conference on Thursday to “unveil the first of the sexual assault victims of Robert Mueller,” Politico reports.

According to NBC News, over the past two years, Burkman had been investigating the murder of Seth Rich, the Democratic National Committee staffer who is the subject of a conspiracy theory that he played a role in the hacked Hillary Clinton emails that WikiLeaks released prior to the 2016 presidential election.

Burkman has been allegedly investigating sexual misconduct and alcohol-related allegations against Mueller.

In a phone interview with Politico, however, Burkman insisted that he had no part in the Parson story.

“We never paid anyone. This woman named Lorraine Parsons, I don’t know who it is. I’ve never heard of her,” Burkman said. “I’m not sure a Lorraine Parsons exists.”
