If you’re hoping to add some bold eyeshadow to your makeup repertoire, purple may just be the way to go. It’s flattering on every skin tone, and has a nice feminine touch while also adding some sultriness to your look. And with the announcement of the new Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina palette, purple was just put into the spotlight, and you definitely want to hop on this trend.
The Norvina palette, according to Teen Vogue, is named after Claudia Norvina Soare, ABH president and the daughter of ABH founder and CEO Anastasia Soare. The palette is clearly very close to Claudia’s heart, since she posted about it on Instagram with a caption that went over four paragraphs.
Norvina has 14 flattering shades, half of which are matte and half of which are shimmery and glittery. The brightest purple shades, like Celestial, Drama and Soul, are the obvious stars of the show, but in case you’re not ready to shell out $42 on purple, there’s also some warm neutrals, golds and pinks. “Purple is my absolute favorite color,” Claudia said on Instagram, “but I love purple shadow to a limit personally.”
Claudia continued in her post: “I choose intensity in my makeup, but at the same time I balance with whimsical colors. I love the fantasy of color that allows me to look like I’m walking in a Disney parade no matter how cold my eye makeup is. The palette is wearable by many which is what is truly important.”
That last point rings true, as the official ABH Instagram posted a photo of all 14 shades swatched on four different models’ arms of varying skin tones. As is to be expected with ABH, the pigment was fantastic, and the colors looked great on all four models.
We think this is the perfect palette for every girl, since you can keep it simple and natural when you want to, but also have fun experimenting with brighter hues. According to Allure, Norvina launches on the ABH website on July 17, and will hit other stores in the following weeks.
